  1. I assumed you already had the pictures, since you sent them to me in the first place. Just trying to reduce the size of my attachment.
  2. Yes, it's a zipped program - I couldn't attach the bare PTE file, "testwintertime_ar.pte", so had to zip it up. It's just an ordinary Windows zipped file, "testwintertime_ar.zip". (the "ar" are my initials to distinguish between my version and yours ). You sent me a zipped file, so you should be able to unzip mine.
  3. Gilio, Is the attached still overlapping? testwintertime_ar.zip
  4. Steve, Is your display colour quality set at the highest setting (e.g. 32 bit)?
  5. Gilio, Are you using version 4.x? If so, there has always been a scaling problem with objects in this version which you can solve somewhat by adding transparent objects to the opposing corners of the image and grouping all objects together. If not, could you please tell us more about the settings you are using - aspect ratio, image sizes, image mode (fit to slide, etc.), etc.
  6. Mark, As others have mentioned, PTE does not provide for automated extrapolation of PZR effects over the other images in a presentation. It would likely be very difficult for Igor to program such a feature into the present version of PTE, and its usefulness over the whole population of PTE users is questionable. However, I have put together a pdf document outlining a workaround which might make the replication of PZR effects over several slides a little easier than simply repeating all of the actions for each slide. You can view this document HERE. Hope this helps some.
  7. Guido, It's nice to hear from you again - hope your medical problems are resolved at last and that you are once again able to enjoy experimenting and creating with PTE. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, too!
  8. Hi, Ken, We just got back from a week in the sun in Mexico (Cancun area) so hadn't heard about your mishap on the ice. For recuperation I can heartily recommend a couple of weeks' rest at one of the "all-inclusive" resorts there along the beach. The staff at these resorts are only too willing to wait on people like you and me (in our age group, that is) hand-and-foot, at all hours of the day if need be. And the only ice you will slip on will be the ice from your tequila sunrise. All the best, and Feliz Navidad, mi amigo - hope your recovery is speedy!
  9. Dimmy, It may appear sharper with "Low quality of resizing" selected, but the shimmer increases dramatically in my tests. Personally, I find the very small decrease in sharpness while actually panning (or zooming) - and I'm not sure it really is less sharp in my example - is much preferable to the shimmer
  10. Igor, That's fine - I won't likely be using my georeferenced photos in PTE, anyway.
  11. Igor, That version works fine with the "description". Thanks for taking the time to sort this out. The only thing missing now is the "comment" file from the "RoboGEO" geo-referencing program. I think every software company producing image files must have their own method for recording these EXIF fields. Probably because each one is intent on getting their own header with their own name embedded somewhere in the EXIF portion of the file. It really is a "dog's breakfast".
  12. Igor, PTE still clips the last character of "description" for images modified in Exifer. Igor, did you post the wrong test version? This version seems to have the same time and date (10/12/2007 10:21 AM) as the last upgrade version of PTE 5.1 By the way, on my system this problem seems to exist only with descriptions added in Exifer. If I modify the image afterward in Photoshop or other programs which affect the EXIF data (e.g. "RoboGEO", a georeferencing program), the description is included in PTE in full. However, and this shows how unpredictable various programs are, the "comment" field from RoboGEO is not picked up at all in PTE. Attached are two more examples - the first one was modified in Adobe and description and comment added in Exifer, and the second one was edited by RoboGEO.
  13. Hi, Namron, Welcome to the Forum! Open the timeline and click on "Timed Points / Arrange all points". All transitions will be spread evenly over the timeline.
  14. Igor, I attached a file, where the last character of the description field is truncated as Steve mentioned, to post #29 of the following thread: http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index....=7694&st=20 A copy of the same file, modified in Photoshop, where the last character does appear, is attached to post #32 of the same thread.
  15. I don't know if it complies or not either. But there is definitely something strange going on, when Adobe slips in a character or two where previously there was none, and all of a sudden everything is fine in PTE. Is PTE deficient in what it is programmed to recognize, or is Exifer doing something quite not following the latest EXIF spec??
  16. Steve, As I demonstrated in my last post in the "Exif" thread elsewhere in this section, the reason for the clipping is a missing control indicator at the end of the "description" field in certain software. For example, Exifer leaves off a separator between the description field and the name "Nikon" in my example, whereas Adobe puts it in, thereby allowing PTE to extract the description properly. The problem is not with PTE, but with the way this description field is recorded by Exifer, to use one example.
  17. Thanks, Peter. I have heard the same thing about LCD monitors, but I have found mine pretty true, and haven't had to do any more than just minor tweaking (mainly for brightness). I have used a Spyder on my old CRT's, but don't own one myself.
  18. Steve, and anyone else interested in this anomaly: Further to my last post, I observe a difference in the way the "description" tag is contained in the jpeg file for the two examples attached. In the second modified jpeg, there is a "nul" character between the end of the description and the word "Nikon" following it. This must have been added by PS when I re-saved the file after cropping it. I've attached a screenshot of the two jpegs as they show up when opened in Notepad. With the first jpeg, PTE skips the last character, and with the second one, PTE shows the whole text. Igor, I agree that this area is too confusing and un-coordinated, and is probably not a high priority for the majority of us users.
  19. I understand. I wrote to ATI once, but did not receive a reply. Will try to get through to them again. They have been taken over by a large foreign company, so I doubt if I'll get any response. They don't seem to operate according to the same professional ethics as you do! :-))
  20. Steve, Further on this point, and another curious anomaly in this continuing saga, I resized the original image in PS, saved it as a jpeg file, and brought it into the PTE project containing the original image. To my surprise, the "description" tag is now complete, and all of the other fields are shown as before. (see screenshot below, and a copy of the modified file). PS must have automatically added a blank character to the end of the metadata descriptor. PS: I also improved the contrast.
  21. Igor, Just to make sure I understand you, are you saying you are going to provide a solution different from the one in your test file provided in an earlier post? (That one works for me if I apply calibration using the ATI control panel, NOT the Adobe Gamma utility.)
  22. Brian, In my test PTE example, I tried putting the image in motion (both zoom and rotate 360 deg), and the exif data displayed fine, just as before. Give my example below a try and let me know if it works on your system. When you unpack it, you may have to go into PTE proj ops and click on the "Set for existing slides" buttons before running the preview. exif_test.zip
  23. Lin, You're right - both description and comment information show up in IrfanView as well as Exifer, but nothing in PTE, except the image filename. Weird! To get the filename to register, I had to hit the "Set for existing slides" button in Proj Ops first. FYI, here is the image file which I have success with on my system (except for the last letter of the description as Steve pointed out): - "comment" from the camera, "description" from Exifer.
  24. I just wanted to confirm that both "Description" and "Comment" are picked up just fine by PTE in any of the tests I have made. In the attached examples the "Comment" was created in the camera, and the "Description" added in Exifer as it is not available from the camera. Just to stir the pot a little more, it is interesting that MS Explorer show the same time for both "Date Modified" and "Date Picture Taken" (see attached), whereas both Exifer and PTE reflect the correct time when the image was modified to add the description field.
  25. Mary, I beg to differ - "EXIF comments" do show up in PTE - I just proved that in the examples in my post above. However, some of the other EXIF fields and all of the IPTC fields cannot be shown in PTE as Igor has not added a capability to display them yet. Personally, I am more interested in the EXIF fields than the IPTC fields, but both would be nice to have.
