  1. I like this idea Chuck. This may be better as a separate audio bar that could be provided, (if desired), with or without the current navigation bar. This would give the author more flexibility in what and how they present their show to the viewer. Also it would keep things simple for the viewer. Not sure if it is possible but hope so. Igor will no doubt let us know when he has time.
  2. Igor, You have made my day, week and month with this news. I have been hopping for sometime that this would happen. This would allow all sound functionally in PTE to be in one place and tidy up the program somewhat for you and the user. Will there be one or two sound timelines? Also will it be possible to adjust volume independently on the full track and also in parts of the track to allow mixing of two tracks? I'm very, very happy about this, thank-you.
  3. Dominique, I like v1.1 very much, the small improvements have made a noticeable difference for the better. The only suggestion I could make for a further improvement regards the size of the images when viewed just before the final zoom and slide off the screen. I would like to see them a little larger. Perhaps the image could be the size it becomes after the small zoom just before it slides off the screen, then it could do the zoom and slide off the screen from there. Waiting for the template, thanks.
  4. G'day Lin, All ran fine on my system. Win Xp SP2+ CPU Intel P4 2.27 GHz 8 kilobyte primary memory cache, 512 kilobyte secondary memory cache. 2048 Megabytes Installed Memory. Nvidia GeForce FX5700 256 RAM VideoMode 1280 by 960 pixels, 75 Hertz. DirectX 9.0c Impressive show, it is wonderful to see how much can be obtained from just one image. Maybe just a little lumpy on maximum zoom. This is probably the limit of the medium at this point in its development. Well done Lin, thanks.
  5. Thanks Tom, of course it is!!! I must be getting older than I thought, or maybe not enough sleep. Congratulations you won the race to give an answer to my silly question, in just 32 minutes, this forum is fantastic.
  6. G'day Patrick, After downloading and viewing your "Cale & Monte" AV I have the following comments: The opening and closing sequence were original and informative and pleasing to view. Your photography was excellent with the selected sequence of images well composed and exposed, technically perfect. Thoughtful use of music and dissolve effects to match the music at the appropiate time. The matching and use of audio is often the area that will let down an AV, but not in your case. This showed your high degree of skill and creativity in the AV medium. The length of the show was just right. As when I felt I had seen enough you finished the AV with a very nice close. This was well worth the download and I will watch it again, (already watched it 3 times), and show it to other photographer friends. It's very hard to find anything negative to say about it. In the top 5% of AVs I have seen. Well done.
  7. Can anyone tell me what function the keystroke <CTRL>+v is performing in the main screen of PTE? It appears to add the same image to any show I have loaded with no logic I can work out. Thanks in advance.
  8. Dominique, you have done it once again. Brilliant!! Great!! Excellent!! Well done!! What is the font you used on the envelope? It looks very nice. Will we be able to edit the text on the stamp? It would be good to change the text on the stamp to the location/subject of the images. Oh did I say I like it?
  9. Welcome back Bob. Just checked in PTE v4.48 and v5 beta15 and can only drag and drop images in the "slide list" not the "file panel" in full or normal screen. You can rename in the "file panel" and the images will automatically reorder in alphabetical order in v5 haven't tested this in v4.48.
  10. G'day ddiercks, We hope to see some basic form of sound editing in PTE in the not to distant future which will make what you are trying to do much easier, this is being discussed at the moment. See: http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6657 PTE V5 is still in beta testing but will be in full release in only a matter of weeks according to Igor, and I suggest you give it another try then. I have used "DVD Photo Slideshow" and although it is very easy to use it can't give the same high quality final result that PTE does. To me this is the most important parameter for judging the two. Also the flexibility PTE provides in all areas is well ahead of "DVD Photo Slideshow" which gives the author much greater creativity in their production. PTE rewards a little investment of time many times over.
  11. G'day Andrew and Paul, Thanks for your comments, I appreciate all comments especially when they are as constructive as yours. I had started to make the show in v4.48 and finished it in a early beta of v5, (beta5 I think), and had just started to learn the Ken Burns effects in PTE. In fact the title screen was the first attempt at using these in PTE. You are both correct it would enhance the show to use these. Maybe a future AV on ballooning as I have a lot of good images left over not used in this show. Yes Andrew I totally agree with you the audio is very important in AVs, many authors forget that the "A" stands for audio and is 50% of the total presentation. I think I spend more time on that than I do on the images. By the way what happened to your points? I think we could manage a ballooning ride for you, (weather willing), if you ever visit OZ neighbour. Thanks again.
  12. G'day Ron, it should be as originally read. Honest people see the lock, sign, etc and obey it and therefore are stopped. Dishonest people break the lock, ignore the sign and do what they want, not what the person who put the lock there wants. In my neck of the woods this is a fairly common saying.
  13. Thanks for the generous comments Ron, and Happy Birthday.
  14. Very generous Igor, still the best value on the market by far, thanks.
  15. G'day Gerdi Locks, keys, copy protection, etc are only there to stop honest people. Any protection scheme designed by one person can be beaten by another, all we can do is make it hard and painful for them. There is no security system that is 100% secure. This is the world we live in, unfortunately. Ron's suggestion of a copyright symbol with the other settings in PTE, (timing, disarm keyboard, mouse etc), is about the best you can do.
  16. Thanks again for a very useful tool. This one I like a lot. You just keep coming up with the good ones Dom.
  17. G'day Everyone, My first attempt at posting a show on Mediafire so I hope it's OK. This is the link for a show I put together a few months ago with an early beta V5. http://www.mediafire.com/?7xdaio4jxxt Comments welcome.
  18. Fedorov did you get an answer? I also would like something like this.
  19. G'day Old John, Yes this can be done in a sound editor external from PTE. However this is time consuming and somewhat cumbersome, particularly when working with a large show and many audio tracks. When Igor said: I hope he is thinking of implementing a separate audio time-line for the "Project Option" sound file and the "Sound line" sound files with some basic volume adjustment allowed on each at the appropriate points. Maybe even some fade in/out adjustment as well. This would speed up the production a lot and give the author much better audio control. Jim, This is a good method of building the audio track, better than the "Customise Slide" method, as the sound track added under "Project Options" is killed, but by using the "Sound Line" on the main screen it continues to play, although volume can be a problem. One major shortcoming of this is when the "preview from current slide" is used in the main screen or time-line. When the "Sound line" file starts back some slides before the selected one and runs over it it won't be played. This means always selecting the image the file is associated with to hear it on the following images. Currently that can be hard to find in a large show.
  20. G'day Ron just sent you my email address, thank you for this wonderful offer and all the work you have done. It's much appreciated.
  21. Thanks Ken, you info and link cleared up my confusion. I had added the sound files in "Customise Slide" and expected to see the file reflected in the "Sound" field. This was very confusing as I could not understand why the 2 methods of adding a sound to a image were there. However I can now see that with the "Customise Slide" method the sound track added under "Project Options" is killed, but with the sound field on the main screen it continues to play, although volume can be a problem. Yes we do definitely need the "P" indicator back to prevent both methods being used simultaneously. It hasn't been replaced in beta13 released today?? Thanks again Ken.
  22. I don't class this as a bug as the same situation existed in PTE v4.48. When I click on a image thumbnail at the bottom of the main screen the image location appears in the "Show Image" field. If there is a comment associated with the image it appears in the "Comment" field under the "Show Image" field. However if there is a sound file associated with the image the sound file name doesn't appear in the "Sound" field under the "Comment" field. This may be showing my lack of knowledge of PTE functionality, but I believe this is a error in PTEs operation. Is this so? Should I post this as a bug?
  23. My thoughts also. There are many improvements listed under " Ideas and suggestions for next versions" that I place higher, (much higher), in importance to develop PTE than this one. In many AV competitions the use of video footage in the show is not allowed as the show then becomes a video with still images. Let remember that PTE is a still image with sound show product. The best on the market.
  24. G'day Jim See this post regarding sound editing and the time-line window: http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6657 Would this be helpful?
  25. I couldn't agree more with The Dom and Peter. The price dose not reflect the quality of the product, I for one would be happy to pay more so that the people that have produced this excellent product are properly rewarded. Also to ensure a future for more development. See the "Ideas and suggestions for future versions" topic for what could be done. I think the following suggestion would be more appropriate than the current overly generous position, (to us). PTE V4.48 Current release -- called "PTE lite" at the current price. PTE V5 Full release -- with a free 2 year upgrade period. At double the current price. PTE V5 Deluxe -- 2 year upgrade period. At 2.5 the current price. At the end of the licence period a discount could be given to current users who renew their licence. Just an idea to reward Igor and team as they should be for their generosity.
