  1. Thanks Igor my problem with the time-line waveform is fixed. Great to get such a prompt response. I find on loading 9a the "show navigation bar" tick box and the "customise navigation bar" button are grayed out and no matter what I do I can't get access to them. In beta 9 I was not able to get the navigation bar to display in any show but it was not grayed out. (see attached screen image). Is this a bug, a design fault or are they not functioning in 9a? (Maybe it is my ignorance on the operation of PTE in this area).
  2. Tom as I am also finding this a problem, where do you do this? I my be blind but can't find the location to enable "TV safe zone" anywhere in v5 Beta9.
  3. G'day Igor and all the team, I've just burnt my first DVD and let me say I'm more than very, very impressed. A clean burn with no problems. On the DVD player and TV it was sharp, no flickering, good contrast, nice colour, saturation maintained and a clean crisp sound-track. Given the limitations of the TV/DVD system you had done a first class job. No other DVD burning application comes up to this standard. A very BIG thank-you all.
  4. At the very bottom of your email order confirmation, as RayC said- not your program files- You will have 2 lines, the first starting with- REGEDIT4 and the second starting with- "Key"=" Copy and paste these 2 lines to Notepad. You then open the trial version of PTE v4.48 you have and a dialogue appears with - at bottom left - Load Key. You will then see an Open dialogue, and you navigate to your saved file in Notepad. Good Luck.
  5. G'day all, I have to add my voice to the debate and agree we need v5 up and running asap. The bells and whistles can come latter. Having full manual control give unlimited creativity, which in the end is the best possible way of working. I don't have the skills to tell you how but I think it is possible to build the pan and zoom you require on one image then to cut and past the settings to all other images in the show in one operation, thus allowing the construction of your show in the limited time you have available.
  6. G'day Lin, Very very nice effect, subject matter was well chosen too. I agree with this comment and also I think it would be better if the text was not seen through the scroll when it is unrolling. Again well done, thanks for the PTE of your work. It is useful in learning more of how these things are done in v5 when the author posts the PTE.
  7. G'day JK I have had Canon digital SLRs since the begining of digital photography and have needed to clean dust from the sensor on some of the cameras on several occasions. Like you I felt very worried about touching the sensor with anything, and after much research found the best way was to use a common "puffer brush". Remove the head of the brush so you are left only with the rubber bulb and use this to blow a puff of air to remove the dust specks. This has proved very effective for dust, hairs and fluf on the sensor and best of all you don't touch the sensor with anything other than clean air. Don't use a pressure pack of air for this job as the propelent can be sprayed with the air from the can at times. Hope this helps,

Jean-Pierre, Simple and very effictive, as always, well done.
  9. G'day DOM Let me start by saying how grateful I am for the work you are doing on the photobook, and await the template with baited breath. P4 2.23Gb - 1G RAM - nvidia 5600 128K - 17in Trinitron 4 Year old system. It ran well with a slight hesitation approx 40% of the way through the page turn, (first page, not cover, was the worst). This was slight and I could live with it. I like the idea of the template having several covers, pages, colours, etc choices. The photo mounts could be improved, I think I have some in a draw somewhere if I can find then I will post a photo. Can I ask what font you are using? It is very attractive.
  10. I also had problems downloading from the above link. Found this one at "Graphics & Media Lab" to work well: http://research.graphicon.ru/component/opt...nc,select/id,1/
  11. ***WoW*** Just the effect I have been looking for, your a genius Igor. Thanks.
  12. Thanks everyone for your help. Your info was just "the bees knees" Maureen. I will also have a look at ZNsoft and brush up on my French. Thanks again, this is one of the best sites for helpfull knowledgable people.
  13. Thanks Dom. The links to the "CoolRuler" and "Reflet" tools appear to nolonger have a download function for these tools. I guess that over time they have changed. I was able to get the tools "traycolour" and "virtualPhotographer (Photoshop plug-in)", which work very well and will be very usefull. Would it be possiable to stop the download button appearing on your pages for these so there will be no confusion? thanks again for your help,
  14. G'day Dom Great idea to have a tools page at your very good site, however I am having a problem when I try and download the tool Reflet, (or the Coolruler tool). After I click on the download icon I get a very quick file download window then when I ckeck the ZIP folder there is only one .txt file in it called fake.txt with no text in it. Am I doing the right thing or is there a problem here?
  15. G'day Everybody, Can someone let me know of a good icon maker program, (freeware if possiable). I wish to make icons to go with my PTE shows.
  16. I create a blank slide in Photoshop, (elements or CS), by selecting a new image and then selecting the background colour, (black in this case), then the size, dementions, resolution etc. Save it with the name you require then add it to your PTE project as you would any other slide. If you require to add text for a title to the blank background this can be done and saved as a second slide, then a simple transition from the blank slide will bring up the title. Or to the blank slide will fade the title out.
  17. I have the same problem, even when I login.
  18. I have found the easyist way to do this is to add a blank black image, (slide), at the end of the show and then fade to it. Usually I have a display slide time of 20-30 sec on the blank slide. Yes it would be great if PTE had sound editing functions, I too have found it time consuming using several programs to edit, (build), the audio track them have to make changes to the audio when a small change is made in the slides, maybe one day it will happen. regards John.
  19. It's great to hear that Barry will be joining us down here to OZ. I may be able to get to one or two of his excellent lectures now. I have learnt so much from his tuts, articles, etc Thanks Barry and keep up the great work. John.
  20. I had been delaying this post until Egor and team had finished their great work on V5 Deluxe, had a well deserved rest, and V5 was in general release. However I have noticed that a growing number of posts are asking for some kind of sound editing function and I wish to add my voice to this group of requests. Currently I am working on an AV about hot-Air Ballooning, an occupation which I am very involved in. This has involved 2 music soundtracks, 14 different sound effects at different points during the show and, I’m glad to say, no commentary. The sound effects, in some cases, must match a point in the show at +/- 0.2 of a second and others flow over several images with various volume adjustments. In previous shows I have made I’ve needed to mix and sync commentary precisely to/across images. This has been very time consuming using the every good sound editors Audacity and Cool Edit, both of which I am very familiar. I have had to go to them and make minor time adjustments, remixes when volume adjustments are required or when I have made changers to the images used, etc. On my current show 30 hours have gone into building it, 3 hours in Photoshop, 8 hours in PTE and 19 hours with the sound editors!! What I prepose is 2, (3 would be better), sound channels in the timeline window to which sound files can be added, have their positions, (start and end), adjusted just as we can with image files, and most importantly have their volume adjusted,. This would allow fading from one to the other sound source or positioning one on top of another at various volume levels. Maybe the timeline with this function could become a separate screen as the “Objects and animation” is. Now we have the DVD creation and Pan/Zoom/Rotate functions working this is to me the final big enhancement needed to make a great, (the best), AV presentation software perfect. The A does stand for Audio. What do others think? Egor please regard this post as a request/suggestion for development in PTE Deluxe V5+ or V6. I don’t wish to burden you with this level of work at present. regards and thanks John.
  21. Thanks Lin the "copy slide/paste slide" did the trick. Using the "shift" key with these I was able to get the 18 slides over with their objects/animations all correct in one pass. The only problem was getting the sound over and keeping the sync with the slides. After a bit of time in my sound editor, (Cool Edit). this was done. thanks again and regards, John.
  22. I have 2 PTE files which I wish to make into 1 show. Is there any way to do this? I have searched the menus etc and can't find if this can be done, (ie no import function etc). The first show is only 40sec long but has many slides with animations and carefully matched sound. The second show is 8.5 min long with over 100 slides also matched to sound and music. It would involve a lot of time for me to add either to the other slide by slide and recreate all the syncs and objects/animations. Using the function to run one completed show, (second .EXE file ran at the end of the first show), is not suitable for the distrubition I have in mind for the final show. Thanks in advance for any help. John. Sorry I should have said both shows were made with PTE V5#5.
  23. G'day Great news. A big improvement that will make an already great program even better. In fact making PTX the best. I will upgrade to the Delux version and will now be able to remove all the other AV/DVD software that clogs up my PC and focus only on PTX. As always you have/are doing a great job. thanks from Aussie John
  24. G'day Thanks for your prompt and correct reply. I had decided not to update to v5 until the final release was out, but of course these tuts do need v5, so I am now running v5 and all works fine. thanks JFA
  25. Hello I have been whatching the wonderfull PTX slide shows for some time and finally decided to have a go myself. I have purchaced v4.48 and downloaded many tutorals from this forum, The dom and others. When I try and load the .pte files in the tuts I get the error message:- "Project files created with PTX v1.00 - v1.60 are not supported now" I think I must have something wrong in the configuration somewhere, as many ot the tuts are only new I know they must be more recent PTX files than v1.6. Can someone please help a newboy? All other functions of the program appear to work fine. thanks in advance JFA
