  1. Hello Everyone, I got the information below from my FTP program help menu. I don't think it is the problem but it was worth mentioning. My program has a selection for ASCII or BINARY or Auto, I always use BINARY Binary (transfer mode) Used for non-TEXT file transferring. Executable programs, word processing documents, spreadsheets, databases, graphic and sound are some examples of files that MUST be transferred in BINARY mode. If you KNOW that the host that you are transferring to or from is the same (that it translates the end of line character the same - ASCII see below) as your local host (home computer), you CAN always use BINARY mode and never use ASCII. Send a small text and .exe file and see if there is a problem. I always use BINARY mode. ASCII (transfer mode) Is used for TEXT file transferring. The end of line character is different on different type of computers. This will insure that the end of line character is translated properly. Good Luck,
  2. Hello Everyone, Just a thought on FTP transfers as I read the threads. Executable programs, word processing documents, spreadsheets, databases, graphic and sound are some examples of files that MUST be uploaded in BINARY mode to your online file storage server not in ASCII. If you KNOW that the host that you are transferring to or from is the same as your local host, you CAN always use BINARY mode and never use ASCII. Good Luck
  3. Hello Barry, I am only a point and shoot photographer. What I found in your webpages was a LOT of work and a real treasure! I added your link to my tools page for future reference. Thanks for Sharing
  4. Hello Everyone, Yup, wnsoft is gone, this is wierd, When I tried to reach the link http://www.wnsoft.com, I get -> http://www.audiocdripper.com/ It might be a full moon thing or alien abduction or surprise vacation?
  5. Hello mannybr2003 & everyone, Ralvis & I are using a fine program called BreezeBrowser by Chris Breeze Visit my Native American webpage. It was constructed in less than a hour, only figuring out what to do is what slows you down. From camera to webpage it can be done in 10 minutes once your organized. Native Americans You get a fully fuctional program that just limits you to 12 images till you buy it. I tried to limit myself to 12 images but it did not take long till I wanted to add many more. Breeze Browser Hope you enjoy
  6. Hello LumenLux, Wow and I thought I was losing my mind. My mouse has acting up all week, as if it is haunted! It hangs, gets jerky and jumps all over the screen. I reinstalled its driver with some improvement. I am backing up whats important and will be using GoBack(restore). I must even re-boot quite often. My up to date Norton Anti-Virus did not detect anything searching all files! For me I believe it all began when I installed AutoIt.exe, which appears to be a great program. Good Luck, ouch!
  7. Hello chaiken, Easy Thumbnails is a popular freeware utility for creating accurate thumbnail images and scaled-down/up copies from a wide range of popular picture formats. An elegant interface makes it a snap to find your images and select them for processing individually, in groups, or in whole folders, using a simple file selector and built-in image viewer. You can adjust the whole folder of pictures at one time. Use slider controls to rotate images and adjust their contrast, brightness, sharpness and quality, and check out the results with a convenient built-in viewer. EasyThumbnails Website enjoy
  8. Hello Everyone, I created a webpage to organize slideshows under 1.44 megs in size. It's a great place to study technique. My favorite is called Columbia STS-107. It's an animation firing over 140 frames packed under 1.4 megs. Club 1.44 Hope you enjoy
  9. PicturestoExe is such a fine program I wondered how high up on the Yahoo list I could get using the key words "synchronize slideshow to music". My webpage made it to the top, Igor is #1. I even threw the misspell of syncronize into the page.
  10. Hello Tomuk, Click on my tool link below and you will find several freeware program that get you from cd to MP3. I like using MP3 workshop "freeware", not related to the comercial version. I will watch what others mention and add to my list the link to freeware recommendations. Enjoy the PTE adventure
  11. Hello rcataldo, I like your program choice. When you say visually arrange, do you mean the program has the feature of dragging and dropping all the viewed thumb nails into a selected order, then you can batch rename them in this order? AfterShot has been renamed to Jasc Paint Shop Photo Album 4 Thanks for your input!
  12. Hello LumenLux, PicturesToExe is the Holy Grail Excellent you bring up this subject right now. I am ready to order BreezeBrowser but think I will let this thread run its course in case something better reveals itself. I am tired of being restricted to the 12 picture limit in the trial version. BreezeBrowser has these features you asked for, its $44.95 USD ouch! I think ThumbsPlus is $79.95 USD Yes - thumbnails on screen, drag a slide to where you want it to show relative to the other slides. Yes - Thumbnail size should be a choice to allow smaller or larger number of slides on screen at once. Yes - When slides have been dragged and dropped into position, the slide order should be able to be saved on-screen for later re-working. Yes - Most importantly, it should have system (batch renaming?) to save the final order so that the slides will be in the same order when imported by PTE. Also what I enjoy is its ability to create a webpage slideshow with drop shadows and other effects. You can create your own personal webpage templates and it codes the rest instantly. I don't see any batch image editing controls (color/contrast) in BB as does EasyThumbNails, but then EasyThumbNails doesn't have a drag and drop thumbnail light table layout. Good Luck,
  13. Welcome hotmetal, We are both missing a piece to this puzzle? My best guess is as follows: Make certain the downloaded files should be .exe and not .zip Possibly the explore screen needed a refresh because you renamed the files elsewhere. Rename the files using "explore" by right clicking on start button and clicking "explore" to open, find the file location, highlight the file name, right click and select rename. Now the mystery begins. Will the name change? You probably did all of the above and have reaffirmed why I have avoided a new computer with XP. I have not used XP, it may have another set of rules from win98. Good Luck,
  14. Hello Everyone, My vote is photo #2, leave in the branch, mother nature staged the scene perfectly. Water Fall with & without branch
  15. Hello zulabarr, BreezeBrowser will do the trick. The shareware version limits you to 12 photos per folder. You indicate what count to start at. There are several naming methods. Just drag & drop thumbnails in the order you want. Then rename the whole batch. I think you could put a second group in another folder starting the count at 13. Check in options that PTE is checked to use "File list order by Name". These programs complement each other nicely. Have fun,
