  1. Yachtsman - The only info I include relating to any of my shows is a brief statement about the show and the download size. I feel that including the download size should give the viewer some idea of the show's length however, I've really never given it much though. I'm happy to say that I don't share in your restrictive policies as I would miss out in viewing a lot of great shows. just my thoughts, Greg
  2. Keiron - I recently visited your site - quite remarkable indeed. Great photography with educational comments. You are truly fortunate. Greg Gordon
  3. Rick wrote; Also when i make a DVD why do the inset images change position? when you make a DVD version of a PTE Slideshow, make sure you "untick" the "fixed size of slide" in the project options/Screen tab. Also, regarding the zoom smoothness problem; for any object that has animation put to it, should have the "edge antiallasing" plus "anti shimerimg" boxes in the "objects and animation/properties ticked. Greg
  4. It's unusual to have to wait longer than a few hours for a reply e-mail from WnSoft other than on weekends. I have always had quick responses from both, support and sales. I had to renew my Video Builder key about a month ago, the replay with new key and receipt came in minutes. DavidS; hang in there, I know it's frustrating. I'm wondering if there's some step you've missed in seeking out a new key. It took me quite a while to find the right link for the key renewal. By the way; PTE IS the best slide show software out there and I've tried them all!! Have you got a charge on you credit card showing the purchase from WnSoft? Greg
  5. Ken - Thanks for the info on the page curl album. I downloaded 2 templates from "THEDOM" a few months ago. Both allow for 16x9 images. I have just completed an album for my oldest Granddaughter. she's been asking for something for quite a while now. I did have some difficulties at first with the template but once I discovered the right way to open it, everything went well and I'm very pleased with the outcome. Because my son frequents my site on a regular basis, I won't be posting the show until Xmas day - it's to be a surprise. Greg
  6. Bill - Overall, a great show. Strong color, and the lines and textures are great as well. Now for the "not so great"; Why was there a short black interlude after the first 3 vertical images? Where you trying to keep the viewers in suspense? I was really enjoying the peacefulness of the images and then came the Crocodile twice! What was that all about? What made you think that those 2 photos would fit in the mood that you created. There was one shot of grasses that I found really interesting with bright colors and a narrow depth of field. And then you had 2 smaller images appear over top with dull gray backgrounds - IMHO they shouldn't have been included. Like you, I use a lot of Medwyn Goodall's music. I find that I have to edit a lot of his stuff due to repetition. Sometimes you just want it to end. So I will often use 2 shortened pieces in stead of 1 long one. I'm not usually so critical but this could have been an awesome show if it weren't for a few minor adjustments. All that being said; I loved the closeups, they have great detail. Most people never think of getting close. But that's where you see some really neat textures which add interest. Greg
  7. There's some pretty wild designs here. Greg
  8. * Are you saying you cannot access any of the VideoBuilder functions from the main PTE GUI window menu functions or the program shortcut ? When I was going thru my problems getting videobuilder to work with PTE 6.5, there were some issues with the access of videobuilder and the recognition of the new key - all is well now. Greg
  9. mike - A lot of PTE users have been going thru this situation. The standard version can be updated free for existing registered users however the deluxe version which contains "Video Builder" is a different matter.WnSoft has been sending out conflicting info. The standard version will always be free but the Video Builder "key" in the deluxe version has a life span of 2 two years. After that, you have to purchase a new 2 year key number. Here is the Link and it will cost $34 http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/order.htm One thing you could try first; I have to go into "program files" scroll down to "wnsoft PicturesToExe", click and scroll down the various versions of PTE and click on the "6.5 folder" then "videobuilder". On the right hand side of the explorer page find the "videobuilder icon" and click. Even with a new registered key number, this is the only way I can use videobuilder. Earlier I tried dragging the icon to my desktop but when I opened the program from there it didn't work. So, remember, if you have been using a version of PTE deluxe starting with version 5.0 for more than 2 years your videobuilder key will no longer work. Wnsoft has to make money somehow. Greg
  10. Maureen - Great show. I could watch this over and over. Some of your images are outstanding. I'm sure that each individual who views your show will walk away with their own favorite scenes. Also, the choice of music added to the imagery. The show flowed well with simple transitions. Good job, Greg Gordon <greggordonphotography.com>
  11. Yachtsman1 - I don't think Barry will be responding on this topic any further and I wouldn't blame him after your apparent terse remarks. I've built about 60 slide shows over the past5 years. I have created a "new slide show" folder. In the folder is all the common files I need and use in each show (blank slides, Png's, intro audio etc. When ever I start a new project, I just make a copy of the folder and rename it with a title of the new show. That way, I always have my basic files. Greg
  12. Thanks for all the comments. I have to agree regarding the Eagle It's worked quite well in other shows. I don't know why I left it in there However, my client liked it - go figure. The drawing images of the hikers is something that I thought would be neat but didn't even think about using them in a closing slide. Good point for consideration. Regarding the number of group photos - what the client wants, the client gets. Thanks for the critiques, they are all most welcome. Oh, I'll get right on that spelling mistake Ken. Greg
  13. Gus - It's quite easy - Create a "zip folder" and title it the same as your PTE .exe file. Then drag the .exe file into the zip folder. Then upload the zip to your site. Greg
  14. Hi all - I've just added a new slideshow "055 Lake O'Hara 2010" to my site. It's at the top of the list. Enjoy, Greg Gordon http://www.greggordonphotography.com/index.php?page=pte-slideshows
  15. Collin - Pretty original and spectacular, almost hypnotizing - great imagination. The blending elements of this show reminds me of some of the "Fractal" shows I've done. I was on a fractal roll for several months and then I got fractal-ed out. Besides, rendering each fractal in high resolution took about 12 - 15 mins. These things are resource hogs even for a top of the line machine. http://www.greggordonphotography.com/index.php?page=pte-slideshows Scroll down the list to #'s 040, 036, 032, 031,& 030 Greg Gordon
  16. Gary - I enjoyed your last show - great travel log. Images are quite sharp and music was appropriate. The images shot while you were on the mountain tram seemed a little rushed in the show, otherwise good job. Greg Gordon <greggordonphotography.com>
  17. Ron - Thanks for the reply. This show is close to what I want to do. With help from the PDF I may be able to tweak it to achieve the outcome I'm looking for. I would want to have the center of the book in the center of the screen so that images can be placed on both sides of each page. I need to see both open faces at the same time. Did you notice how the shadows in the binding area of the pages change as more pages turn - neat touch. So if you could forward me the PDF file, that will be great. Thanks, Greg gr_gordon@shaw.ca
  18. PTE "page curl" Hi guys - I've built several "photo album" slide shows over the past few months. But I have learned recently that this type of album I'm recreating is physically not all that popular in the real world. What's popular now, in my part of the world, are albums that are more like "coffee table" photo books. The main difference is: the old style wedding albums have thick stiff pages whereas the newer style albums have thin pages which curl or bend when you turn them. This is what I want to recreate. I know we can curl the background layer in PTE transistions, I want to be able to curl each page in the "objects and animation" section of PTE. Can this be done? what is involved for this to programmed? Greg Gordon
