  1. Hi Xavier I am trying to suggest the movement within a slide from one shape to another to simulate the appearance of the object being in a different plane to the face on. Similar to the images created by Lin which showed pictures of birds and their reflections. In that case he was using Xara extreme to create his whole image which showed the picture from at an agle with true perspective. Dom has created some templates where images move from one plane to another by changing the zoom, rotation and pan, but they a very complex to acheive. It woul;d be nice to be able to take an object at the beginning of the slide and change the shape of it so that it looked as though it was in perspective, thus creating movement. See my graphic attached. I hope I've have explained it well enough. Regards Alan
  2. This has probably been mentioned before and may be difficult to achieve, but the ability within O&A to transform objects in a similar manner to 'photoshop edit transform'. As well as zoom and pan it would be great to be able at a keypoint to either 'skew' the shape of an image/object or at least be able to change the 'perspective'. I know that some forum members have demonstrated their acheivements in this field but I find the present limit on shapes a little dificult to get to grips with moving objects around to simulate viewing on different planes. Alan
  3. Sorry. I realise what you both mean now. My mistake. Regards Alan
  4. This facilityalready exists. See my attached demo which also has a moving background image. Just click on each object in the O&A list and creat keyframe points along the time line for the slide. at each keyframe point the animations can be changed. Eg. the transparency. See the attached demo. Unzip the file and open the PTE file then go to O&A and examine the three objects by playing etc. Good luck Alan Demo_transitions.zip
  5. I am familiar with Corel Draw which I have used for many years. In that prog its possible to set the time lapse for auto save but instead of an overwrite of the file it saves is a backup file with the suffix .bak. If ever the autosave version is required it can be loaded and used and then saved as any other file name. I find this most useful. Maybe this is the way forward. Alan
  6. I too notice that the shadow is blurred maybe that's intentional as it is a shadow and the rasterized slide distance is not as great on slide two.Re Observation 3: Theoretically the sharpness of a shadow cannot get sharper than 1, as you increase the size parameter the shadow spreads over a greater area and loses its sharpness and definition. As an aside why not try some of Dom's Shadow templates available from http://www.thedom.fr/share/dload.php?actio...amp;file_id=212 to see some of the effects that can be achieved. Alan
  7. I suffered this problem. I discovered that for an individual slide not to use customise slide option and add the music on the music tab, it just repeats until then next slide displays. I found that by just using the sound option under the slide display and entering the file and location by using the browse folder the sound only plays once. I worked this out by studying the procedure used by Dom's album template. In the Version 5.5 this option box has moved to the top right corner of the slide window entitled "add sound". Hope this helps to solve the problem Alan
  8. Peter You could use "Save as" instead of "save" and run three PTE files in a Grandfather, Father, Son routine and then go back and overwrite grandfather etc. etc. . That way you should retain at least 2 accessible copies if the prog crashes again. Good luck with the project Alan
  9. I've installed Beta 7 and 8 and have NOT received reports of presemce of any virus from my McAfee Security Centre. Alan
  10. This is fantastic Dom. I'll definately be trying to emulate this in one of my shows. Brilliiant. Well Done Alan
  11. Have tried a new project and this time it worked OKl. I thought I had removed the slide using right click. So as the photo remains in the listing how may it be removed. I have only been able to access it from the Objects and animations window at the very beginning even though it is not in the objects listing. I've tried customising the picture with a transition which appears to work but was still not able to access the image to remove it. I then reomoved the following slide and everything appeared to correct itself and the slide displyed properly, and became asccesible in the timeline and classic view. I then tried to insert the next slide at the point following using timeline view but it only attached to the next slide but was not accessible. If I switch to horizontal view the slide is visible but still not accessible and in preview it shows very briefly. If I insert the slide in horizontal view every slide shifts and the inserted slide appears for the project option timing. This does not occur in Timeline view. It was only a trial so I can easily recreate the show. Hope you understand what I am trying to convey. Alan
  12. Igor A bug found I beleive. Whilst creating new project in Beta 2 found that if a slide is removed from the timeline view the entry disappears, although the slides do not renumber from that point. In classic view the slide remains but cannot be selected. If the project is saved and reopened an error message reports transition longer than the slide number that had been removed earlier. Alan
  13. I agree wholeheartedly with Lin. A good moving show. Alan
  14. Patrick I for one thought that the high contrast, dark shadows depicted Amsterdam as I remeber it. The low bright winter/spring sunshine and the relatively tall buildings on narrow streets has this effect. That is part of the charm of Amsterdam. Similarly the foggy day shots brought a chill and calmness to the scenes. Your show reminded me very much of how it was on my April visit and brought back fond memories of the city. I must visit it again. Regards Alan
  15. I have found that by opening one PTE project and copying slides it is then possible to close that project open another project in the same window and paste the slides into it. I have not tried a large number of slides like a whole slide show but it certainly works witha few. I also am not able to open 2 PTE windows and copy from one to the other. Alan
  16. This is fantastic. I.ve only tried a few but for a newcommer to PTE it will help so much with the learning curve. Thankyou so much. Alan
  17. Thanks Mark. It works a treat. I have learnt a few new things about Photoshop through studying your 'actions'. I will need to amend the file save destination though, presumably the step to take would be enter a substitute step by recording from the save point. Alan
  18. Thanks for your comments. I must admit the show was put together as a way of displaying our snapshots for the benefit of family and friends. Since creating this first attempt I have viewed some exceptional AVs made by forum members and have a long way to go to catch up. Hving just discovered PTE by accident, and having become hooked, I now need to decide upon a subject, take some decent photographs, find the music and work hard putting it together, whilst taking on board the constuctive critique so far offered. Regards Alan
  19. Yes please Mark all the actions you mention would be most helpful. It was through searching for actions that led me to discover PTE and now I am a hooked AV enthusiast. Alan
  20. Select one slide and remove the comment then select Menu Slide/Set all slides=Current one. then all the other slides loose their comments so that they match the selected slide. Alan
  21. Hi Jerry If you place three images into a one second slide with quick opacity changes at the required intervals it seems to work OK. Ive made a quick example using rectangles and but as Hawk says it works with reasonable size images as well. I've attached for you to try. The timing is not very accurate because I made it in a rush but I'm sure you could improve on thatbuy bringing the full opacity to fruition at the the precise keyframe time. VFIS_Jan25_2008_8_07_30.zip Regards Alan
  22. thanks for your support and compliments. I am attempting a remake of the show using a different technique with the portrait shots. It is a bit limited as the photos I have available are only snapshops taken quickly whilst enjoying our Christmas trip. It was not a planned Photoshoot with masses of pics I'm afraid. Next time I'll take my SLR. Alan
  23. Al. Thanks for the comments. I have taken on board the pan and zoom issues raised by several forum members and am trying a remake. I have a confession to make regarding the music. Although it was a midi file I actually converted it to a Wave thence a MP3 by playing the midi on my Yamaha keyboard which has a superior sound card and recording from line output to my laptop via a USB Sound Blaster Connect device.
  24. Just for information I have just made a DVD using mpeg2 from my first AV I posted earlier and find that the pan of the second slide (2.5 Meg) and the music stutter (not displayed in the PTE or EXE files). Another pan and zoom later in the show also shows similar faults the rest of the show runs without problem. Alan
