  1. I'll give Picasa a big vote. I have played with it for an hour or so and it will be very useful for organizing in the pre-PTE stage. With several thousand images on multible disks there was lots of junk that I had lost track of. So Picasa is a good tool to weed out the discards. I was also surprised that it shows .psd images although that format is not listed. Unfortunately it did not show vector images, only rasters. And you can't complain about the price!
  2. Carol, I fully agree. With the latest version with the full visibility of images, PTE is vastly improved. Now the control of the spacing of the images along the timeline as you suggest would greatly increase productivity.
  3. Micheal, the idea of renaming the thumbnails in both panes of the screen would be very useful for PTE IMHO. In working with the new interface of beta 2 is almost like a new program - it is now a great user interface to build a slide sequence without the prior frustrations.
  4. B Beckham wesite URL please?
  5. What video editor do you use presently?
  6. Just as I was complaining about no visual interface to the image sequence, Igor has done it again with the light box as hoped for. A terrific job and now P2E is without question the best slideshow s/w available (and I have played with many). Now I have to dig into the whole video process in that I have just ordered a new Plextor 708a recorder that handles every conceivable CD & DVD format known to man. Thanks again for a great job on the latest beta, and as usual, what a wonderful forum!
  7. In my own projects, I time the slides and transitions with a stopwatch. Then using Adobe Audition (but Audacity would work as well) to tailor the sound file or files, to the exact length of the slide duration. I have to work a bit to get the sound to end exactly at the end of the last slide time, for which I use a black slide, but it works fine.
  8. I use Object Editor in all my slide shows. I use a black slide as a separator between topic sections in which I use the text feature to create a title. This can be positioned anywhere on the slide in any type font or size. I also put occasional titles directly on a slide with OE. Very useful.
  9. Ronwil, I agree if you rename all images so sequenced, you can then place them in P2E. However my previous comment stands (IMHO) that you cannot drag images in any software and have them stay in the altered sequence position. Windows will simple resort by file name as one would expect.
  10. I don't see how a rearrangement of image files can be done without renaming the files in the order desired. In XP Explorer under View/Filmstrip, you can drag image sequences out of file number order. You can then select/copy the reordered group and paste it into P2E. The files are immediately reordered in number or alphabetic sequence! P2E actually does that, but you only see the one image that is being moved up or down the list be dragging the file name. I think I'll just live with that for the moment because all the other features are excellent.
  11. I downloaded Pixort and tried it based on the mini-tutorial. I like the fact that it can handle Canon 300D RAW files, but I did not see any easy way of rearranging a large quantity of slides that could be then moved into a P2E folder, ready to continue bulding a slide show. This remains a major stumbling block of easily sequencing images in P2E.
  12. I have EXIFViewer but I have not figured out how to move slides into an alternate sequence. t seems that they only sort out by file number unless each file is renamed. Am I missing something? I agree that the main weakness of P2E is sorting images for a slide sequence when you can't see the file images in a group. PhotoSuite does that, but that has less features than P2E.
  13. I was able to open the Main Room link, but could not open the Spa link
  14. I agree that the light/dark table as a build in feature would be very useful. All of Ed Overstreet's other suggestions would also be great. I don't write in often, but I love the program and follow the forum on a daily basis from the email subscription. Bill
  15. I just linked into wnsoft and got yo programania also. So where did wnsoft go? Bill
  16. I have been following the recent posts about running PTE shows on a TV set. It seems there is a lot of experimental activity in process with several software packages to make it work. When it settles down to the procedure for the AVI to TV process work as expected, I would like to see a short tutorial on what to do with what software, cables , connections to TV, codecs, etc. For the moment, I'll just watch the forum commentary with interest. Bill
  17. Just curious as to how many images in your long PTE shows, and what is the application? I assume these are not entertainment shows for family and friends! Bill Harkins
  18. Nice. How did you get the first pic to fade from B & W to color? Very clever. To be picky, I would have likde some more brightness in the color, although NY can be pretty grey at this time of year. Nice music background and appropriate. Bill
  19. I like the show. I would have liked a bit more snap to the color of the Vette as well as some action pics driving around the track. Bill
  20. Where is v4.20? I don't see it on the WnSoft website.
  21. I too am interested in how to make use of the sych feature. Is there a better tutorial on this somewhere? I cannot change any slide timing except from the project option screen. If I click on synch, the display each slide is grayed out, the the original second and ms numbers are there. Should this be zeros if synch is used? Please advise.
