  1. I am not very happy about this advertising campaign for Adobe. Although I use Photoshop CC myself, I am also not very happy about the subscription model, sharing some of the reservations mentioned by Judy and Urmas. This thread should be locked Regards, jt
  2. What about using the Windows Volume Mixer? Regards, jt
  3. I agree with Denis. The situation is good as it is today. The mouse cursor changes in cases of clickable texts or images, which does not make much sense for buttons, as they can be made to show their own action. I would not like to see two actions (cursor and button) to indicate that the mouse is hovering over a button. Regards, jt
  4. Why not, sooner or later! You may follow the advice of davegee (if I am allowed to say this ) Some users will bother about the bugs in the old version, some will complain about the new design. So do whatever you like to do. Regards, jt
  5. It seems that the forum software does not show the correct number of views of topics but stays at the value of 0 as long as there are no replies. The correct number comes in after the first reply (bug or feature?). Regards, jt

    Two tips.

I have known no. 2 for a long time, and it is quite useful. Regarding no. 1, I ask myself: Is is a feature, or is it a bug? Regards, jt
  7. The discussion now has reached the level of personal offense. My (only) alter ego who definitely finished posting in 2013 (the same time when fh1805 stopped posting) perhaps would have continued this discussion. jt does not Regards jt
  8. Hi Dave, in my opinion, you present a solution in a situation where there isn't a problem. Let us look at a typical situation where I would like to see an image that can be linked and animated across slides: Think of an image that performs slow movements (e.g. pans and zooms) over a period of (say) three minutes. Now think of this image as background or (kind of) stage for a presentation of changing arrangements (collages) of small images, partially animated. Add some music and perform the changes of images using slide transitions (in oder to do a good synchronization of image changes and the beats of the music). So you will see about 30 slides or more, not all having the same duration. With an AV tool that uses parallel tracks, the situation is easy. You can freely handle the common background in a single track. All other images will live on other tracks on top of the background. In PTE the situation is difficult as the background has to be inserted into each slide, and therefore a free animation of changing pans and zooms over the full period of three minutes causes trouble. So the video solution isn't that bad: You first program just the animated background using a single slide with a duration of three minutes, and export it as a video. In your final show you link this video through all your 30 slides. Of course you could also use the method of Jean-Cyprien, but it would be a hard job. There are other situations where linking of images would be fine, e.g. if you work with partial dissolves, it would be fine to have images that start animations somewhere in the middle of a slide and that end somewhere (say) two slides later. Best regards, jt
  9. I am glad to read this. The incident that I have mentioned is about two years ago. There will be a similar event in November, and I will do some tests in advance. Best regards, jt
  10. The topic of linking and animating images across slides has been addressed here in a thread from 2011. It is far more complex than what is provided in these styles. These styles (more or less) do what davegee has described in the same tread, see here , and in my opinion it is not a very useful concept. A tricky workaround has been provided by Jean-Cyprien (here), but it is not that comfortable to use. In 2011 the feature had been on Igor's to-do-list (here), a long time ago Regards, jt
  11. Sorry, but I cannot agree on all points. Sometimes I like to have an animated still image in the background that runs across several slides. A video can be liked across slides. With an animated still image I have to use an unpleasant workaround (I learned it from Jean-Cyprien). This is why I continue to ask for the feature of linking images across slides Regards, jt
  12. It is difficult to say who is to blame. Some time ago I made the experience that a show created with m.objects, that normally works well, did not run smoothly when following several PTE shows. As a consequence of similar experience, a friend of mine when presenting several shows created with PTE, m.objects, and Wings Platinum organizes the show program in groups, where each group consists only of shows created with the same software. Before starting a new group he reboots the computer Regards, jt
  13. Question: Did you read the discussion on Diapositif mentioned by Jean-Charles? Regards, jt
  14. Thanks, but I am not in a hurry. Maybe I'll have a look at the sample project at some later time I just would have liked to look at it from Jean-Charles' point of view. Best regards, jt
  15. This is not what I want to do. Nevertheless I would like to have a look at the sample project. Why not offering the user a library of sample projects as downloads? Regards, jt
  16. "Transparent to selection" has effects on the final presentation (EXE), while "Ignore objects not selected" (Tools menu) has its effect only in the A&O-editor. So in case your are working with actions on mouse-click it is better to avoid "Transparent to selection". Regards, jt
  17. Indeed, this article provides information that can be regarded as misleading. In my opinion there is no alternative to learning the basics of color management. Once having understood them, it is so obvious to see that the recommendation "Always use sRGB" may not always be a good one Regards, jt
  18. I would like to second the demand of Urmas and others for color management in PTE. A professional AV program should offer it, like Proshow Producer and the (expensive) Austro-German competitors. I would like to see the Proshow options as shown in the SpyderBlog pointed out by davegee (with an additional option on embedded profiles), but also dynamic color management where conversions of images will take place during execution (causing some loss of performance). Regards, jt
  19. At a price of 200 $ (or €) you cannot expect much regarding image quality and large color spaces. A monitor at this low price will not even cover sRGB at 100%. I think that you have to look at a monitor like Dell U2413, or ever better, go for NEC or Eizo if you want to cover sRGB at 100% and AdobeRGB at almost 100%. Regards, jt
  20. If you link an audio clip to a particular slide, the clip will keep its position relative to this slide and all slides following it, when making changes at earlier positions. You may use this feature. Regards, jt
  21. Having 16:9 as default value for the AR would be OK for me (not an important subject). I would regard the new suggestions for "Cover" as over-organized. What should happen to a quadratic image? Why not having an option in the Editor section of the Preferences (or somewhere in the Project options) a default value for the mode of all new objects: Cover or Fit? I often use the mode Cover for portrait images, combined with a vertical pan BTW: I really do not like the notion of Slide in the Screen options (Fixed/Virtual size of slide), and in the Mode menu (Cover/Fit to slide) Regards, jt
  22. I agree! The same can be said on the screen options:I would prefer "Fixed/Virtual size of screen" (rather than "Fixed/Virtual size of slide"). In my opinion slide sounds outdated. Regards, jt
  23. I sometimes use a Startup Window with a copyright declaration. Of course, I know that there are workarounds Regards, jt
  24. What about this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joOv2BkO0eM ? Regards, jt
