  1. What is the reason for this question?
  2. Many thanks to both of you! Regards, jt49
  3. When using the Run command in Window, I can do the following: I can start MPC-HC using: "C:\Program Files\MPC-HC\mpc-hc64.exe" I can start MPC-HC and run a video using: "C:\Program Files\MPC-HC\mpc-hc64.exe" "D:\videos\MyVideo.mp4" I can start MPC-HC and run a video at full screen using: "C:\Program Files\MPC-HC\mpc-hc64.exe" "D:\videos\MyVideo.mp4" "/fullscreen" When using the command "Run external application" in the Slide Options of PTE, the third command including a command line switch (to run the video at full screen) does not work for me. Does anybody know how to pass command line switches when using "Run external application"? Regards jt49
  4. Copy fonts to some folder on your HD (not to Windows\Fonts), highlight them and click right. You will see the option to install them. jt49
  5. As long as slides contain only a small number of images, large images do not cause trouble. But if there are (say) 20 to 30 10-mp-images inside a single slide, there will be problems when opening the corresponding O&A window. Regards, jt
  6. I would guess that you are using images of (unnecessary) large pixel dimensions. You may try to resize your images. Regards, jt
  7. What is the color profile of your monitor? Regards, jt
  8. What about PNG, a useful format for images which are partially transparent? Regards, jt
  9. This will be quite useful for users who work in an AdobeRGB environment (including monitor), and who want export a presentation that is to be shown on an sRGB projector, but is less than we could expect from the topic "Test of color management" from February 2014. This feature has to be optional, and not mandatory. Otherwise, users with AdobeRGB monitors will have problems, and users with a pure sRGB workflow do not need it at all. Regards, jt
  10. Why should it help to give any information on version 9? It only shows the difference between the two editions of version 8 Regards, jt
  11. You should not overinterprete these statistics. For example, they seem to indicate that 66% of German AV producers who submit productions to festivals would use PTE. I would be glad if this were true, but it isn't. I am sorry to say that many AV people in Germany even do not know PTE. They typically use Wings and MO. Regards, jt
  12. While programming an AV sequence, I work with images at full resolution (16 MP). Image size optimization is a later step in my workflow. Now problems arise when I use about 10 images within a single scene (slide). The slide is shown correctly in the preview, but inside the O&A window a few images remain invisible. This seems to be a problem of resources. So I would like to see an optimization for the O&A window. This window should show the same behavior as the normal preview in case of a "large" number of high resolution images within a single scene (slide). Best regards, jt
  13. Why should anyone disagree? Regarding the old topic including a suggestion of my alter ego: It still would be fine to see the feature of dragging slides from one project window to another one. Regards, jt
  14. Highlight your slide, and open the objects & animation window. In the left upper corner of this window you will find buttons for adding videos, mask constructions, frames, buttons, texts, rectangles, and images. Regards, jt This thread should be moved to "General Discussion".
  15. I think that "Virtual size of slide" is one of the least understood concepts in PTE. It has been introduced when the so-called "Original mode" was cancelled. For a normal user the virtual size serves as input for an aspect ratio, for a show that shall not be restricted in scaling (see davegee's post above). But it has an additional effect. It serves as the reference value for the size/position tool in the O&A window. I myself have never used this feature. Maybe that a few French colleagues who build up scenes with lots of objects will use it? Regards, jt
  16. A computer scientist would call it a container, and that's what it is. But I think that a lot of users would not be happy with the notion of container. In my opinion the word slide is rather outdated. The French call it "vue" (view), which I like much more than slide. The worst situation is to be seen in the German UI of PTE, There the slide is translated by "Bild" (image), with the consequence that German users insert images (real images) into an image (slide). I would prefer to see the word "scene", which would mean that a PTE show would consist of a sequence of scenes and transitions between them. Regards, jt
  17. 2 GB is a general restriction for 32-bit-programs. Regards jt
  18. PTE is a 32-bit-application. As a consequence, exe-files must not exceed the size of 2 GB. You may program your show with the option (in the Properties tab of the O&A window) not to store videos in the exe-file. Regards, jt
  19. Yes, it does, and it is very good to have this feature. It may be better to have a separate function for locking the image track. Nevertheless this given feature is valuable. Users who care for a precise synchronization of images and music cannot live without it. Otherwise it would be very difficult to avoid incidental shifts that would destroy the synchronization. I always lock the image track. While pressing the control key I can do the shifts. Regards, jt
  20. PTE produces exe-files that are 32 bit programs. They should not be larger than ~2GB. You may try the option for videos: Do not include into Exe. Regards, jt
  21. This thread may not be an advertising campaign for Adobe (in the first place), but perhaps for these tutorials Regards, jt
  22. I am not very happy about this advertising campaign for Adobe. Although I use Photoshop CC myself, I am also not very happy about the subscription model, sharing some of the reservations mentioned by Judy and Urmas. This thread should be locked Regards, jt
  23. What about using the Windows Volume Mixer? Regards, jt
