  1. Hi, I am having problems with THe DOM downloads. I recently purchased some products. When I download the zip file and attempt to open and load the file, the file opens with PTE 6.0 and I have no idea where the file is. can amyone help me with this problem? Thanks, Cliff
  2. I have had so many different opinions on this topic so I thought I would ask the experts on this forum to clarify the position. I want to convert my PTE slide shows to HD and play them on my HD television via my Sony Blu-Ray player. I want to buy some blank blu-ray discs (because of the 25gb capacity) and I will then burn my HD slide shows onto these discs. Do I need to have a Blu-Ray burner and, if so, which one is recommended please? I must confess that I am a little confused by this topic, so any advice and assistance would be very much appreciated. Ron
  3. After installing PicturesToExe 5.6.4 under Windows 7 , PicturesToExe starts up automatically. When you start immediately videobuilder it works fine and burn a DVD is a piece of cake. All this actions are done as administrator! After closing PicturesToExe 5.6.4. and restarting it , videobuilder doesn't work anymore for burning a DVD. The Optical drive can't be recognized, seems non existing.(empty fields) For solving the problem (temporarily) a new install of PicturesToExe 5.6.4. has to be done and directly after that a burn process (without closing PTE), for once. After closing PTE the error comes back. I come with this question not for me , I'm using 6.0, but a friend of me (86 years old!) wants to keep using PTE 5.6. Has someone a solution to that problem? Thanks and best regards!
  4. I have been trying to red through the existing posts and threads but cant understand all this stuff. Can PTE now create a 1080p HD DVD ? I see in the video builder options - the format is 720x480, which is the low rez DVD. I am trying to get these shows much sharper on the DVD. Are there simple instructions out there somewhere ? Would I have to do the actual burn in another software like Roxio ? Thanks Paul
  5. All, Am fairly gobsmacked after making a first AV for replay through a Sony PS3 with a standard dvdr disc burned as AVCHD. Filled my 50" HD Plasma screen.Sharp as a pin,no flicker.Stunning, yes Stunning. Compared to the standard dvd output,no comparison. Cheapo software used for the AVCHD burning(£12) OK still early days as it's my first time at this.It is playing on a Sony PS3 and will try it out on a standard Bluray player and have a go with making menus etc, but if this works I will be well pleased.I will fire up the HD projector as well tomorrow as a tester. Davy
  6. Simple question I hope, will a DVD produced using PTE De-Lux with the Pal box ticked play in Canada, I'm assuming no from what I've read due to Area restrictions and Canada being Secam & area 1, UK being 5 I think. Regards Yachtsman1
  7. I have made several .exe shows in the past and would like to convert them to an internet friendly format. The original images used in the existing shows no longer exist. Solutions are requested. Thanks in advance.
  8. Although I am using Pinnacle to author my disks, I realise that many people will not wish to go to the expense of something like Pinnacle Studio 14, so I have been trying out various other software. The one that I like, Sothink HD Movie Maker, is available on a 30 day free trial and if you like it, it is fairly cheap at just $35 (around £22.50). It is incredibly easy to use and the video quality is excellent. Unfortunately I have been experiencing glitches with the audio and I have contacted their technical support team about this. Unfortunately at the time of writing, their offices are closed until February 22 due to national holidays, so I don't expect an answer very soon. However, it is certainly worth downloading the trial version to test it out for a month.
  9. I just received an email from Vimeo. They are now offering 1080p where they were previously limited to 720p. They are also beta testing a new player which may eventually have implications for our PTE shows, but now only those using Safari, Chrome, or IE with Chrome Frame installed. This new HTML5 player may eventually allow smoother playback but is not yet full screen. Time will tell, but at least Vimeo now allows full 1080p presentation. I have also noticed lately that apparently their servers have been upgraded because playback is quicker. Best regards, Lin
  10. There is some relevant information available on the web concerning BluRay and HDTV which may be of interest to those who have not yet purchased a high definition television. Today there are three different technologies which are available along with some variations of these basic themes. Also all BluRay players and burners are not created equally versatile. I found this explanation which was put out by LG (A manufacturer of high quality television receivers). Keep in mind when reading that there will be some bias toward LG and that other very high quality systems such as Samsung, Visio, Sharp, Sony, Panasonic, etc., are probably just as good and in some cases perhaps even better. But it is nice that LG produces a very thorough explanation of differences here and I think it's worth reading for the value of the general information. To begin, a quote from the site which is of interest: ================= There are three varieties of 1080p: 1080p/60 indicates that each frame is repeated twice every 30th of a second, a format increasingly found in high-definition camcorders;1080p/30, the standard frame rate for live or recorded HD video; and,1080p/24, which displays the same 24 frames per second as standard movie film, and the standard Blu-ray frame rate used to preserve the film frame rate the filmmakers intended. Not all Blu-ray players can output 1080p/24 and not all HDTVs can display all three 1080p frame rates. However, all LG Full HD 1080p LCD and plasma HDTVs are capable of displaying all three 1080p frame rates via either HDMI or component video connections without the digital flim-flam found on lesser-endowed HDTVs. Plus, LG's 24p Real Cinema processing further enhances the reproduction of films on Blu-ray when connected to the 1080p/24-capable LG BD300 Network Blu-Ray Disc Player. ====================== Link to good information: http://us.lge.com/CES2009/education/benefits.html Lin
  11. Hi, creating a videofile I've to possibilities: Using VideoBuilder or the PicturesToExe Video Codec What is the best way ? I'm able to use TMPG Xpress / DVD Author with PTE Video Codec Thanks for your thoughts Nordlicht
  12. I am not getting any sound when playing a DVD of a PTE 6.0 slideshow through my DVD player. Oddly, I am getting sound if I play that same DVD in my computer. The video is fine on both my computer and TV. I have searched through this site to see if this issue has already been handled, but could not find anything. I’d like some help or a link to the possible resolution if it has already been addressed. Here are the specifics: I tried this with both DVD-R and DVD+R DVDs. Same problem both times. I tried to play back the DVD in both a Toshiba and a Samsung DVD player. Same problem. I checked both DVD players with a commercially produced DVD (i.e., a movie) to insure that the sound was working. It was. The EXE file works fine in my PC. Here are the settings I used in Video Builder: Project Options: TV system = NTSC (I’m in US.) Menu aspect ratio 4:3. TV screen aspect ratio 16:9. Bitrate 7000. Video type Progressive (I’m showing it on a HD plasma.) Anti-flicker checked. Audio Format MPEG Audio. Bitrate 224. None of the advanced options are checked. Nothing checked on the Program tab. Final page where “Start” button is: “Create MPEG2 Files” unchecked. “Create DVD folders” unchecked. “Create ISO image” unchecked. “Burn DVD disc” checked. Device E:TSST corp, DVD+-RW TS-H653F. Speed 22x (30470 KB/sec). “Include additional folders…” unchecked. A while after clicking “Start” I get a response indicating that the DVD was successfully burned. Thanks for your thoughts. Enjoy the Super Bowl first, though. Don
  13. First, let me admit my ignorance on my subject. My new computer has a Blu-Ray burner. It is a multiple burner drive,i.e, CD,DVD or BD. I would like my slide shows to be in Blu-Ray. When I get to the burn command in PTE, PTE designates the basic drive but does not differentriate between the available formates, therefore, I have no idea if I am about to burn a BD. Could the answer be as simple as the computer knows what disc is in the drive and will burn that format?? Thanks for any and all replies. Feeling dumb in Amarillo, JD
  14. Greetings, I am getting more into creating MP4 files. I have Created two 'MP4 HD (1920x1080) Video for PC' slideshows from the same PTE show. One was created in HQ; file size is 165Mb. The second file was created in LQ; file size is 64Mb. The 'problem' is that I don't see a difference in quality. I am wondering if anyone else has done this comparison and come up with the same conclusion. Of course, I'd rather be creating smaller sized files if there is not visible difference. So I'd like to know if there really isn't any difference in what you might see between the HQ and the LQ results. I have played the two shows on a 40" LED TV screen and I can not tell the difference. Thanks... Gary
  15. Back in 2006 there were some interesting discussions on how to produce AVI files which could be burned onto a DVD using Nero. I learned quite a bit from other forum members at the time. Although I had some reasonable results I did not have an HD TV and have not pursued this since. I have just started looking at this again (having bought a 40" Sony) and would appreciate some guidance. Simply burning a DVD Video Disc from various differently sized slides ranging from 1920 x 1200 to 1024 x 768 sized files throws up some interesting resizing effects when viewed on the TV. Can anyone please tell me what the latest advice using PTE 6.0 is to get a DVD that will play full screen on the TV. Many thanks Peter
  16. Dear Fellows, I am having some problems related to creating an HD VIDEO (MP4). Anyhow, I don't think it is a problem of PTE, but some problem with my computer, so I hope! In the meantime, there is something I would like to know in order to help me "think" in my problem. The point is: 1. When creating an HD VIDEO (MP4), option CUSTOM PRESETS, in VIDEO PARAMETERS we have several MODES. 2. Using ONE PASS - QUALITY, we can choose QUALITY from 0 to 100. 3. First question: To which parameters correspond such quality numbers, in terms of video bitrate or whatever? 4. In case we use TWO PASSES - BITRATE, we are asked to fix a video bitrate. Ok. 5. Considering that TWO PASSES MODE produces better results than ONE PASS MODE because second pass "corrects" first pass "errors", which bitrate should we fix in order that final result can be compared with ONE PASS MODE? That's why I think we should know which bitrate is "secretly" adopted in ONE PASS MODE. Thanks for your comments on this. Regards, Jose
  17. I want to enhance a few slides with animated pictures. Doesn't Pictoexe have this capability???? Betsy
  18. I think I will ultimately like this package a great deal and spring for the Paypal option. I got through the basics, Lin. I seem to have a repeatable error now that I cannot explain. I put my 10 slides in and installed a tune, then gave it a test run. Everything seemed great. After I created the file though the show retarts my music from the beginning, about 7 or 8 slides in. Consistently. Always hitches at the same slide and starts the music over right from the beginning. Any ideas? D
  19. Is there any way to get a DVD slideshow to automatically start with a short intro chapter and then when it has finished to go to a static main selection screen where you can choose any of the chapters on that screen to play.
  20. Hello all, A long time since I haven't posted here ( I apologize)... This time I need your help: I have problem to encode a PTE show in HD AVC (Menu Create/Video for PC and Mac). I have tried with PTE 6.0.0 and 6.0.1 without any success (see screenshots). I have attempted several settings: all 1920x1080 25fps, with standard setting or customs (1 or 2 passes, “Pan and scan “enable" or "disable" …) without any success. My PTE show (17m30s) works pefecteky in .EXE and DVD, AVI, mpg, etc... My license Deluxe is OK, all my HD disks have enough free space ( > 50GB, all NTFS formatted), so I don't understand where is the problem ... The audio and video encoding seems to be Ok without any problem, no error message (Faac.exe and x264.exe working OK during hours and hours …), but the final expected MP4 file is... 0 byte ! -> this does not work ! Sorry if I have missed the right tread with the solution to this problem. If someone can help me, I would be very very grateful.... Merry Christmas and happy new year to every body ! Marco
  21. I'm sorry if I am asking an obvious question, but I don't know how to create an .iso file of my slide show. Is there a particular program that everyone recommends? I tried a "free" application, but now it is making me jump through hoops to get a code to make it work, and I am not 100% it was working properly as I burned a couple of DVD's that worked up to a point then crashed. Oh yeah, I am using version 6 of PTE, and I think the program itself is outstanding, it is the extra stuff (like burning a DVD for viewing on TV) that confuses me. Thanks for any information anyone can send.
  22. Hi friends! What setup shall I use in PtE 6.0 Deluxe Edition for making a videofile for a NextBase PhotoM@il-X digital photo frame? Specs: # 8" digital TFT display (800x600) # Support 802.11/g WiFi-connection # Support MP3 in audio playback # Support Video (Motion JPEG, MPEG-4, Xvid, DivX 4 & 5 in AVi-format) I have been fighting the frame for 6+ hours. It kills me... Regards/Lennart
  23. Dear Fellows, May be some of you can help in my following problem: 1. I made a long and complex project (120 MB, 20 minutes) using 5:4 aspect ratio (1280x1024). 2. After finishing my project I made a "Create DVD Video disc". 3. On my plasma TV monitor, either choosing 4:3 or 16:9 format, my project shows well, but loosing 100% of the so called safe TV zone. 4. This way, all my color borders and some of my subtitles disapeared! Project is completly damaged. 5. It is impossible for me to make it again, re-configuring it according to such "safe TV zone", slide by slide. 6. Is there any way to avoid this problem in my actual circunstances? Thanks and Merry Christmas to all! P.S.: My goal is to make a DVD to offer people by Christmas, so I have no time for a big correction work. So, in case there is no other way, I would try the following: I work with PINNACLE LIQUID EDITION to edit video. I can in PTE create an AVI file and load it in LIQUID as a video file. Using LIQUID, I could zoom out such file in order to get away of TV safe zone. This way, 100% of PTE image will be shown. Then, still using LIQUID, I would burn my DVD. Do you find this reasonable? Thanks for help.
  24. To:- Igor & WnSoft Staff and Forum Members, May I wish you all the very best of Seasons Greetings and peace and good health in the New Year. To those working on 'projects' may you have good luck and get them finished in time for the Christmas Holiday. Best regards to all... Brian Kelly and Crew at Conflow Services.Dublin.
  25. I just upgraded my computer and PTE. The Video maker registration code had expired and I bought a new one of those too. When I open the project in video maker (for TV) it goes fine until I get to the page where it asks for a project name and the other choices. As soon as I click on any field (or just on the page) it immediately locks up. Everything else seems to work fine, it's only when I go to the video maker section that it freezes. It's running Windows 7 on an i7860 intel with 8 gigs of ram and a ATI Radeon HD 4650 video card. Any ideas what the problem could be? I'll try support also. Thanks
