Font Sizes

I am trying to put text in two sizes on an image but have only succeeded in getting one size. Is it possible please in version 10 ?

Use the ZOOM parameter to create different text sizes. You can also resize by clicking on the text object and use the “handles”.

Note that the "zoom factor" is not a font size (in points or pixels) and that one line at a zoom factor of 15 (for instance) has the same character size as two lines at a zoom factor of 30 (2x15), three lines at 45 (3x15), etc.

Keep in mind that a "font size" in pixels has only a relationship to the appearance size when the factor of display resolution is considered and is equal to yours. People watching your show on a display which differs in physical dimensions and/or in pixel resolution will see fonts in a different actual  size.

PTE is not a text editor. It does not produce fonts with points or pixel size but instead produces fonts with a zoom size which is nearly infinitely variable. Just manually size your text and take note of the zoom number. If you wish to reproduce this on another slide or in another place on the same slide, create another text object and use the same zoom number.

That is explained in depth in the Online Help.

I suggest split your text into two objects, then set the desired size of each object.

There is a direct relationship between the Zoom Ratios of one line  and X number of lines of Text.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions but the basic problem is that both lines of text appear in the same text box and increase or decrease in size together. I cannot find a way to split them so that I can size them differently. The zoom function moves them both together.

Are you creating two seperate lines of text?

Hit the “T” top left and type a line of text you want.  Then hit the “T” again and type the second line of text and they are now Independant of each other.

In the existing text, you can do a "Cut" of the part of the text you want to separate from the other, then create another Text box (see advice from Barry) and "Paste" the copied text there.

You end up with two separate text objects that you can size the way you want.

Hi Canico,

Listen carefully - you can have as many text objects as you wish and EACH text object can be sized independently. Something is not registering because this has been suggested multiple times.

Click on "add text or hyperlink" and the word "Text" appears.  That is one text object. Click on "add text or hyperlink" and another word "text" appears. This is text object 2.  You will not see the second text object because it perfectly overlays the first on the screen. Just select it in the objects list and use your mouse to move it where you wish.

You then type what you want to substitute text object one and size it as you like. Highlight text object 2 and type what you want in a different font or same font or different color or same color and size it as you want. This is text object 2... Even every LETTER of a work can be a separate text object and have different fonts and/or different size, etc.
