Slideshow freezes if there is a short video clip between images

Recommended Posts

I have met repeatedly the situation where PTE slideshow EXE file is freezing. Crashing takes place with my new Dell laptop which is faster than the old Dell and which has Windows 11 instead of Windows 10.

I use a slideshow program with numerous subslideshows. The main program has five slides. One of these slides has over 20 buttons that run different subroutines (subprogram's exe with return). Crash takes place in subprograms in places where there is a short video clip between images. In such cases, only the sound from the video starts, but the image before the video remains on the screen. After such an event, it is not possible to move forward or backward, and the slide program must be closed with ESC. If I started slideshow again and moved to the same subprogram and to the same place, everything worked... But the same problem occurs again in a new place where is video clip.

E.g. today, the PTE was interrupted three times during a two-hour lecture.

I use short video clips (about 10 sec, 1920x1080, mp4, H.264).

P.s This reCaptcha where I have to find traffic lights and crosswalks is silly if not idiotic. Or maybe I am robot :-) Why not to use newer version of reCaptcha...

Are the shows with the Video Clips Exe or MP4??

If MP4 what program are you using to play them?
VLC player is recommended to avoid problems

How big (bytes) are the video clips?

Spec of your computer - memory etc

Hi,

Can you send us one EXE show where this freezing occurs?

I've sent you a personal message.

P.S. reCaptcha is shown only once when a new member registers on the forum. We'll check this option to see if it can be improved/updated.

All are exe files. Mp4 files are included to exe files. Video clips are upto 120 Mb, usually 30-40 Mb. Computer is Dell Latitude 7300 with 16 GB RAM. It has also touch screen but I have disabled it.
