Barry Beckham Posted April 24 Report Posted April 24 I may be doing a PTE demo in the next few months and I'd like to use this information as an example of the softwares longevity and robustness. Perplexity AI says 2005, but surely it was earlier than that, or am I mistaken 1 Quote
Gérard de Lux Posted April 24 Report Posted April 24 AI is wrong (how surprizing !). The very first (very basic) version of PTE has been released on July 2nd, 1999. Version 1.60 was published on February 24, 2000; version 2.0 was releleased on March 21, 2000. And so on, and so on. There's a very well informed story (based on Igor's own statements) written in 2008 by Marcel Boi, French AV author, which I attach in PDF; of course, it's in French, which is good for you. "PTE - what a story" is the translated title, it counts 14 A4 pages with many screenshots of the new features of the different versions of PTE. pte_quelle-histoire.pdf 4 1 Quote
