  3. Beta 6 transition failure

    Hi,

    I just checked - created a new custom transition with a video mask in V11 and then opened it in V12 Beta 6 - the transition worked fine.
    Please let me know, did you test this particular transition in the previous Beta 5?

    If the transition was created earlier (in V11), check its work in V11.

    Also you can send us the all storage of custom transitions for checking. Send me a personal message with a download link.
    Usually custom transitations are located in a folder: Documents > PicturesToExe > Styles and Transitions > Transitions

    Most likely, playing 4K 60p video at double speed in the preview was already pushing the limits of the PTE and your computer.
    In V12, we completely rewrote the video playback code (the algorithm for loading and displaying frames) to improve smoothness and to support smoother playback of variable refresh rate videos (these video files are becoming more common now - from new iPhones).

    I think the right solution would be use of proxy video for real time previews. We're already considering it.

    Thank you for checking. I wanted to write to you in detail. Earlier you've sent me a short project with one sample video object.
    I see this problem: preview doesn't show doubled video speed when you set the speed to 200% (i.e., 2x acceleration).
    The problem is that the video file is too large - 4K resolution (3840 x 2160), 60 fps.
    PTE AV Studio can't play it at doubled speed, sorry! Only when exporting a MP4 video.

    I see a possible solution: professional video editors usually create a simplified copy of the video at a lower resolution and use it for previews. PTE AV Studio currently always works with original video files. We probably need to consider a similar solution.

  9. Folder Names ?

    Hi,
    On macOS the "?" character is allowed in folder names, unlike Windows where it's prohibited by the OS. The issue during MP4 export the most likely occurs because the "?" symbol is interpreted as a special character by video encoders, which breaks the file path.

    I'll check the code if we can handle this case in a future update. Currently I recommend to avoiding "?" symbold in folder names.

    Also please note that even if we add this support for macOS, the project will not be able to be opened on a PC with Windows.

  22. Quick Search in Styles and Transitions in V12

    Thanks for these examples. I've understood. We'll think how to implement it correctly.
    There is a problem - some languages have symbols which should not be de-normalized (without accents). For example, German or Norwegian.

  25. The Transitions window takes a long time to close

    Hi,
    Please wait - did I understand rightly that if you remove all custom transitions, any builit-in transitions are applied to a slide quickly and without delay? So, you select a built-in transition (i.e. Default transition or Dissolve), click the OK button, and the Slide Options window quickly closes?

    Does the issue occur only if there are some imported (or created) custom transitions in the library, even if they are not currently in use?

    In your first video in the 1st message above, I saw a delay in closing the Slide Options window, but I didn't see any custom transitions in the list of available transitions.

    If I understand all rightly, could you please send me all the custom transitions you use in PTE AV Studio? It would be better if you send a ZIP copy of the entire "Styles and Transitions" folder. Write me a personal message through the forum with the download link.
