    Thanks for these examples. I've understood. We'll think how to implement it correctly.
    There is a problem - some languages have symbols which should not be de-normalized (without accents). For example, German or Norwegian.

    Hi,
    Please wait - did I understand rightly that if you remove all custom transitions, any builit-in transitions are applied to a slide quickly and without delay? So, you select a built-in transition (i.e. Default transition or Dissolve), click the OK button, and the Slide Options window quickly closes?

    Does the issue occur only if there are some imported (or created) custom transitions in the library, even if they are not currently in use?

    In your first video in the 1st message above, I saw a delay in closing the Slide Options window, but I didn't see any custom transitions in the list of available transitions.

    If I understand all rightly, could you please send me all the custom transitions you use in PTE AV Studio? It would be better if you send a ZIP copy of the entire "Styles and Transitions" folder. Write me a personal message through the forum with the download link.

    It's an important point, thank you. My native language doesn't have diacritical symbols, so I didn't know about this point.
    Can you give me 4-5 examples so we can check how this should work?
    How this implemented in other programs? Are diacritical symbols also ignored in search?

    Please try the new Beta 5. The program will no longer freeze during video encoding for projects containing trimmed video objects.

    If you change a speed of a video object, the result will be visible in MP4 video export, mini-player, full-screen preview, and the Objects and animation window. It is not yet available in the Trim and Adjust Speed window preview - we will add this in a future Beta.

    Thanks for your reply.

    The Controlled Folder Access option works regardless of the chosen antivirus. This option prevents files from being written to system folders and some user folders, including Documents and Desktop.

    Let me clarify just in case - does the long delay on closing Slide Options (transitions tab) occur even when there are no imported custom transitions? Only built-in transitions.
    If yes, can you try to manually delete Styles and Transitions folder from Documents > PicturesToExe? Close PTE AV Studio before deleting the folder.

    Try also create a new project template (main menu > File > Templates > Create template... 
    Please note how quickly the template creation window closes and whether the main program window interface will work immediately after closing.

    Could you try the new PTE AV Studio 12 Beta and compare the speed of closing the Slide Options window?

    Hi,

    Honestly, I'm puzzled by this problem.

    Please check if you have Controlled Folder Access enabled in Windows 11 (10). To check this, open Windows Security (search for it in Start menu), go to Virus & Threat protection, then click on Manage ransomware protection. Look for Controlled Folder Access setting and let me know if it's turned On or Off. Don't change it now.

    Do you have a local hard drive or SSD?

    Did you have this delay BEFORE v11.0.20?

    Hi,

    We've already implemented 2 improvements in V12 Beta:

    1. You can create a backup of a project in ZIP archive (or project template) that links files (images/audio/video) with the same file name (duplicate names) but in different folders.
    2. Smart ZIP compression. Archive creation is now 3-5 times faster.

    We'll soon add support for creating project ZIP archives larger than 2 GB.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the information.

    Please let me know what antivirus software you're using: Windows Defender (by default) or another antivirus?

    The symptoms suggest that either the Documents folder is syncing with the cloud service (usually it should cause that issue). Or the antivirus is interfering with PTE AV Studio, slowing down every operation within the styles/transitions storage.

    Hi Frans,

    I recommend to use "Quality" mode in PTE AV Studio and choose the "High quality" preset (100% in Custom mode). This is the best choice for all types of content - animated slideshows or dynamic video footage. Video encoder automatically allocates bitrate, assigning high bitrate to dynamic scenes with video footage (or animated pictures) and low bitrate to static photos. The automatically calculated bitrate can vary from 0.7 Mbit to 60 Mbit. For example, the Sample Project at 1920x1080 (HD), 60p has an average bitrate of 8.6 Mbit. You don't waste bitrate unnecessarily - it increases only where needed, maintaining constant visual quality.

    This is similar to saving a JPEG file when you specify the desired compression quality, for example "9". The file size will differ depending on the complexity of the image details and its dimensions.

    If you still prefer to set the bitrate manually, use these values as a guideline:

    HD (1920 x 1080), 60p:

    • 4-8 Mbit - for animated images
    • 10-16 Mbit - for mixed content or dynamic video content

    4K (3840 x 2160), 60p:

    • 15-30 Mbit - for animated images
    • 40-60 Mbit - for mixed content or dynamic video content

    Also avoid hardware encoders for best quality.

    Important note: Bitrates from video files recorded by professional cameras or smartphones should not be used as a reference. They use simplified hardware encoders (works in real time) that don't utilize bitrate as efficiently, so manufacturers compensate by significantly increasing the bitrate.

    It's an interesting case. So the long delay with closing the Slide Options window by clicking the OK button occurs even if Documents > PicturesToExe > Styles and Transitions folder is empty?

    Does the Documents folder on your PC sync with any cloud services? OneDrive, DropBox, Google, iCloud?

    Try to change a location of "Styles and Transitions" folder in PTE AV Studio. Browse the main menu > Settings > Preferences. Templates tab.
    Choose another location on your local drive outside Documents or Desktop folders. For example, on drive D:\

    Hi,

    Usually the OK button should instantly close the Slide Options window.

    Do you observe the same issue (delay) with the Project Options window when the Transtions tab is chosen?

    How many custom transitions you have added?

    Please do the following:

    1. Close PTE AV Studio.

    2. Find the following folder on your computer:

    Documents > PicturesToExe > Styles and Transitions

    3. Create a a backup of this folder (Styles and Transitions) as a ZIP archive.

    4. Check a file size of Transitions folder inside Styles and Transitions. Let me know its size.

    5. Can you send us a copy of the Transitions folder in a ZIP? Send me a personal message with the download link throug the forum messenger.

    Cor, try new Beta 4. We normalized volume for all sound files. Also we've added 2 new sounds.
