Do you mean new text animations in V12? Not yet. But work on the text objects is not finished for V12. Wait a little.

It's an interesting case. So the long delay with closing the Slide Options window by clicking the OK button occurs even if Documents > PicturesToExe > Styles and Transitions folder is empty?
Does the Documents folder on your PC sync with any cloud services? OneDrive, DropBox, Google, iCloud?
Try to change a location of "Styles and Transitions" folder in PTE AV Studio. Browse the main menu > Settings > Preferences. Templates tab.
Choose another location on your local drive outside Documents or Desktop folders. For example, on drive D:\

Hi, try to restart Windows.
-
Hi,
Usually the OK button should instantly close the Slide Options window.
Do you observe the same issue (delay) with the Project Options window when the Transtions tab is chosen?
How many custom transitions you have added?
Please do the following:
1. Close PTE AV Studio.
2. Find the following folder on your computer:
Documents > PicturesToExe > Styles and Transitions
3. Create a a backup of this folder (Styles and Transitions) as a ZIP archive.
4. Check a file size of Transitions folder inside Styles and Transitions. Let me know its size.
5. Can you send us a copy of the Transitions folder in a ZIP? Send me a personal message with the download link throug the forum messenger.

Regarding the volume of the new special effects, I do have the impression that the volume is rather low, even at a setting of 200.
Compared to the standard music volume (100), I think a sound effect should be audible above this volume.
Cor, try new Beta 4. We normalized volume for all sound files. Also we've added 2 new sounds.

When adding a sound to a slide, the sound object cannot be replaced.
Try new Beta 4. We fixed this issue.

I started over with another clip. I changed the speed to 50%. That worked ok but then I tried to trim the end of the video and the window never showed me the end. I could go in and trim the video first and then set the speed to 50% and that worked fine.
We fixed it in Beta 4.

Beta 4 is available
See the download links above.
- Sound library: normalized all audio files to -3 dB for consistent volume levels. Added new sounds.
- New slide style: Brush Strokes - Frosted Glass (Creative category).
- Fixed an issue with file replacement in Sound object - old file remained.
- Fixed an issue with incorrect video duration after trimming a video with changed speed.
- Updated Dutch translation.

I moved several recent posts regarding integration of PTE Video Optimiser and PTE AV Studio to a new topic:

Ghuyla,
Thanks for your suggestions. I'll consider integrating PTE Video Optimiser with PTE AV Studio (for quick access), but these apps will likely remain separate (at least for now). -
PTE Video Optimiser was designed as a standalone app, useful as a complement/addition to PTE AV Studio, and useful for a wide audience of users.
Some features from PTE Video Optimiser already have been ported to PTE AV Studio 12. For example, video export in AV1 (WEBM) format and support for vertical video export.
Video stabilization and noise reduction cannot be performed with highest quality in real time (they require significant CPU and GPU computations). Stabilization works in 2 passes for the best quality. These features can only be implemented for video export.
An important feature of PTE AV Studio is that all our effects (except Motion Blur) work in real time and are available in a fullscreen preview, in the EXE shows, and in the video export.
Stabilization is the most complex feature due to its 2 passes, which must be precisely timed. Integrating it into PTE AV Studio will be even more hard than in PTE Video Optimiser.
Yes, I'd like to see stabilization/noise reduction functions in PTE AV Studio, but right now we're not ready to implement them. Sorry.-

The finished show had a watermark (which is fine) but meant the show I was going to share was not practical.
Hi Mark,
You can use a free license key for V12 Beta. Please read my 1st message in the following topic:

I hope this dedicated timeline will appear in v12, as it is really necessary if we want to use this feature.Bruno, thanks for your suggestion.

Igor, would it be possible to add sounds from my collection to this library?
I'd like to add bird sounds, (female/male) laughter, alarm clocks, ticking clocks, kissing sounds, typewriter sounds (would be great for text animation), drops of water, streams, gunshots, sea waves, and more. You can already add your own sound files to your projects - just use the "Add Sound" button (not Sound Library) and select your local audio files.
We plan to expand our built-in sound library. However, we only include sounds under CC0 (Creative Commons Zero) license - meaning they must be in the public domain and free for everyone to use without restrictions. -
Hi,
Thanks, I reproduced the issue by replacing the Sound file. We'll fix it.
Temporary workaround: remove the existing Sound object and add a new one.

I added a single clip. Changed the speed to 200%. It changed the stated video duration but it did not speed up the clip. Also, I could not publish the show to an .mp4. The publish window just sat there and never did anything. It did create a 1KB file with the name but that's all. I went back in and tried to change the speed from 200% back to 100%. Moved the slider then manually typed in the number. Closed the window and PTEAV just locked up and I had to "End Process".
Hi Mary,
Thanks for checking video editing functions. Please send me this video file which causes freezing and incorrect speed. Better with a project file (.pte). Write me a personal message with a link.
I found a couple of issues with editing of video speed and duration. We'll fix it.

Is this to have an effect on the entire video clip, or can just a portion of the video clip be affected by the 'Interpolate frames'?
Gary,
Frame interpolation is always applied to the entire video object, from start to end.
For example:A. The original video is 30p. Your display operates at 60 Hz (or you are creating a 60p video export).
Video speed is original, 100%.
PTE will generate intermediate frames (1 real frame + 1 blended/interpolated frame) for the video object.B. The original video is 60p. Your display operates at 60 Hz (or you are creating a 60p video export).
Video speed is set as 10% / 0.1x.
In this case, PTE will generate 9 intermediate frames (1 real frame + 9 blended/interpolated frames) for the video object. -
I initially applied loudnorm normalization (for all sound files in the library) using the EBU R128 standard with a target level of -16 LUFS.
loudnorm с I=-16 in FFmpeg.
I noticed a problem - some quiet sounds get to the same level as loud sounds, destroying the natural dynamic range.
Probably I'm wrong and I can try again.UPD. I normalized all audio files in the sound library in future Beta 4.
-
Dave,
This is the default sound library included with the program. We'll continue to expand it.
Users can add any other sound files to a slide/transition through the Open file window (by clicking the Add Sound object button on the top toolbar). -
Gary,
Glad that you found a reason with the issue with a wrong offset.
Currently Sound objects are not displayed in the timeline of the editor as waveforms. Probably in future version.
The main idea of a new Sound object is to play short sound effects (1-3 seconds). Examples included in the Sound Library which appeared in Beta 3. -
Gary, try the simplest thing:
1. Add a video with fast motion in a scene.
2. Set speed 5-10%
3. Tick the option "Interpolate frames".
Then create another version with unticked "Interpolate frames" and compare results in a fullscreen preview.
-
Yes, that's correct for V12. When video speed is not 100% or when you add keywords, the sound is muted automatically. The same was in previous versions (for speeds not equal to 100%).
We plan to enable sound for the modified speed, but I'm not sure how long it will take to write this code.
Rather low volume of new sound effects [SOLVED]
in PTE AV Studio 12 Beta

Thanks for checking. I thought I had applied normalization to -3.0 dB for all sound files in Audacity. I'll check again on Monday.
P.S. Just in case, you need to add sound objects to a slide again to check updated sound files.
