  1. Release Candidate 5: http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr-deluxe_beta.zip (5 MB) * Improved reliability of main program of PicturesToExe.
  2. I know that somebody uses "Rasterize to PNG" for special effects (applied in Photoshop). I'm afraid we can't remove this option?
  3. 5.2 renamed to 5.5 5.3 renamed to 5.6 In 5.6 we plan to automatically store text objects as vector images (unlimited quality for any display resolution) and a problem with absent unique fonts will go away forever.
  4. Mike, You're right. It's a bug in the Random order function. I just uploaded an updated Release Candidate 4. http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr-deluxe_beta.zip (5 MB)
  5. Thanks, we'll correct the date a little later.
  6. If you have Intel video card, please try newest PicturesToExe 5.5
  7. Thanks, Robert! I just fixed this bug. Please try updated version: http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr-deluxe_beta.zip (5 MB) Gary, We've sent you PM messages with details on uploading of files.
  8. Gary, I think it should be an old bug, because we didn't change slideshow's engine in v5.5. It's same as in 5.1. I see that you disabled "Hardware acceleration" for one slideshow? We need source files of both projects to reproduce this problem. How large is it and can you send it to us, please? In relatively new drivers ATI added some changes and I don't know how to correctly apply my fix. It's difficult to add such fixes. We think about alternate solution now. In next version 5.6 we will add non-exclusive fullscreen display mode (as an option) which solves the problem with gamma (but Pan effect will not look ideally smooth under Windows XP).Mary, Does the question with "Main Image" option in Objects and animation editor is resolved now? Besides picture in Slide list, it also displays filename of main image in the Slide list. So this option can be useful even in v5.5, I hope.
  9. Andrew, I apologize that it took so much your time! It should be our job in solving such problems. Thank you for all your efforts and help!
  10. Peter, I think this bug with Slide list is fixed now. I've inspected the code of updating of Slide list and reproduced one situation when Slide list was not updated correctly. I've fixed it. Thanks! Release Candidate 2: http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr-deluxe_beta.zip (5 MB) * Fixed bug when in some cases Slide list displayed old images after opening of another project.
  11. Peter, Please send three .pte files of these projects where you've experienced the bug with not updated Slide list. No other files are necessary, only .pte projects.
  12. Colin, Please try also re-install DirectX from Microsoft's website. But because I never heard about similar problem with ATI, I think the most likely it's a fault of this video card.
  13. Peter, You're right, of course. I think I'll prepare a new version with some changes tomorrow.
  14. OK, and what about "Auto Save" option?
  15. Peter. Thanks, I'll try to reproduce this problem and will inspect that code of PTE. Currently I've found only one new line of a code I've added to Open function. But it was added to Beta 8. - Are all three projects have same aspect ratio (4:3 for example?) - Do you use Auto Save option and if yes, what interval in minutes? (This option was added in Beta 9).
  16. I remember there were at least two new messages (by Lin Evans and another) yesterday after I've announced Release Candidate. Lin, did you delete your posting, or it's an fault of the forum?
  17. Please note that it's Release Candidate build. It sets an association with .pte project files, Creates a program group and shortscuts without "Beta" prefix in the Start menu. VideoBuilder starts without quick flashing of a splash screen. And if no further bugs more, it will be marked as a final release. I hope we'll officially release version 5.5 within 2 weeks.
  18. Release Candidate 1 http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr-deluxe_beta.zip (5 MB) * Improved reliability of PicturesToExe (main window). * Fixed problem with selecting keypoints in the timeline when "Auto Scroll. Style 2" option choosed. * Improved quality of text objects displayed on small slides in the Slide list. * Fixed bug with displaying of textured background when hardware acceleration disabled in Objects and animation editor. + Updated languages files.
  19. John, I think this question is located in area of logic. To display correctly preview of a selected slide in the mini-player we have to set a position cursor to end of selected slide (right after transition effect). And if you moved a slide, we move the cursor. But really there was another bug with incorrect choosing keypoints in the timeline when "Auto Scroll. Style 2" enabled. I'll fix it today in nearest update.
  20. For the first problem, please download and install latest drivers. It should solve the problem with crashes. Desktop gamma problem. It's a bug of ATI, regrettably. For the solution, please read this message: http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index....amp;#entry48743
  21. Igor

    Camera

I have Canon 350D DSLR camera, and a second very compact camera (170 gram) for far trips - Samsung NV24HD (besides photos it also records a good HD video 1280x720 30p in H.264 codec)
  22. Beta 11: http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr-deluxe_beta.zip (5 MB) + Added Farsi language. + Various minor improvements. * Fixed bug when PicturesToExe could work incorrectly or show error messages if PC was locked by user (Win+L for example).
  23. Personally I prefer LCD and LCoS based projectors. Because they provide solid and flicker-free picture which looks like usual 35 mm film projection. Earlier DLP projectors shown better contrast and deep of black level, but now newest projectors Epson 1080UB (TW2000), JVC RS2 (HD100), Sony VW200 deliver almost comparable with DLP contrast. Although they are still too expensive. Let leave DLP vs. LCD for other technical forums Other moment, format of a picture. As I know, the highest quality of picture can provide only projectors intended for home cinema and almost all of them are 16:9, not 4:3. I plan to prepare my new slideshows in 16:9 format. This format of a picture is ideal for further transfering to Blu-Ray video disc. All written above is my opinion only.
  24. Probably it would be an interesting and useful article: "Choosing a Projector for Photography, Part I" (May 13, 2008) http://www.projectorcentral.com/photography_projectors_1.htm
  25. We have discovered that it's a bug in DirectX 9. Not a bug of PicturesToExe. But we will fix it.
