  1. Please try new Beta 10: http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr-deluxe_beta.zip (5 MB)
  2. I've reproduced this bug now, thanks! Will try to fix it.
  3. Peter, 1. Can you repeat this problem again? 2. What will happen if you press call saving pressing Ctrl+S in Objects and animation window? Auto-save should perform similar action.
  4. Geoff, Sorry, but I'm not sure that I've understood rightly this problem. Ctrl+End doesn't select a range of slides. To select all slides to right you have to press Shift+End instead. Please provide me step by step instruction.
  5. I'll check up tomorrow. Thanks!
  6. Peter, Version 5.5 already includes the new DVD burning library (in VideoBuilder). It fixes 95% problems with DVD writting we have heard from our customers. If you didn't try to burn DVD-R disc with v5.5 please try. On some DVD drives even new version can't successfully burn all or some kinds of discs, as I know it happens and with other programs.
  7. For this version 5.5 we've bought new DVD discs burning library (and BD-R for future) and we will pay royalty from each sold copy. Now in ours plans - buying of Blu-Ray authoring library.
  8. When version 5.5 released (May-June) we'll set new prices for PicturesToExe: Standard edition - $49 Deluxe edition - $75 Upgrade to Deluxe - $26 Existing users of PicturesToExe needn't pay again. As earlier for VideoBuilder we provide 2 years of free upgrades (all new versions released during two years after a date of your purchasing). And then you should pay for the upgrade if you would like to install and use newer version of VideoBuilder, or stay with an old version.
  9. For beta releases we don't set association with .pte project files.
  10. John, No, this feature just saves current project, and it keeps full Undo/Redo history. I wouldn't like to add more new function to version 5.5, auto-backups or reserve copies features should be carefully thought-out, I need time to work out these options. As temporary variant, please call "Create backup in ZIP" periodically.
  11. We will try to return this feature back to the next version 5.6
  12. Please see Auto Save option in Beta 9. Already available.
  13. Beta 9: http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr-deluxe_beta.zip (5 MB) + Added "Auto Save Project every ... minutes" option. (See Main menu | View | Advanced options). + Faster work of Undo/Redo if a project contains slides with many objects. + Changes in hotkeys: Del key performs "Cut transition" and Shift+Del removes the slide when you work in the timeline
  14. Peter, I'm sorry about this problem! If you saved the projector before the crash, PicturesToExe should not delete the project file. If you has intermediate EXE files, please let me know, I'll recover .pte file for you. I'll add auto-save feature and creating backup copies in separate file.
  15. Barry, 1. If I have understood rightly, you would like to see Del key performing "Cut" operation instead of "Delete" in the timeline? (Currently it does Shift+Del). 2. Select necessary images in the File list, click right mouse button, choose "Explorer" and then "Delete". It will moves the files to Recycle Bin. We wouldn't assign Del key for this operation, because other manipulations with images in PicturesToExe are virtual and diffirent behaviour of Delete action in File list and Slide list may cause problems. Jean-Pierre, Please tell me about this problem. Ctrl+X supposed to cut selected object(s). This function makes two actions: copies the object to the clipboard and then deletes the object.
  16. Andrew, Thanks, I hope Trend Micro will quickly resolve this false alarm.
  17. Andrew, Of course, no viruses in that file. I check up files with an antivirus before publishing. Then I check up file with another antivirus later at home. It should be false detection. Or probably the file was infected already after downloading?
  18. Beta 8: http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr-deluxe_beta.zip (5 MB) + Effective usage of screen space in Slide list for 16:9, 4:3 and other formats of slides. + Updated language files. + "Repeat Music after Playing" option is turned off by default in a new project now. * Fixed minor bug in mini-player (stuttering of picture in several seconds after switching to a fullscreen mode). * Fixed some bugs with "Snap To" option of the Grid (Objects and animation) in some cases.
  19. Barry, If all agree, I set unchecked "Repeat Music after Playing" by default for a new projects. Jean-Pierre, It's possible to shift the grid, see arrows buttons.
  20. We all in WnSoft are grateful to Ron Wilkinson for his contribution to the development of PicturesToExe. His suggestions and comments over many years helped make this program better. Thanks, Ron. Igor Kokarev, Main developer of PicturesToExe, WnSoft, www.wnsoft.com Russia
  21. Beta 7: http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr-deluxe_beta.zip (5 MB) + Added Grid (Ctrl+G) to "Objects and animation" editor. You can adjust parameters of the grid and enable "Snap To Grid" option. + Added "Set End of Last Slide at End of Music" command to "Timed points" menu in Timeline view. * Fixed bug of previous betas when "Shift points" operation mistakenly shifted selected and not selected transition points. * Fixed bug of previous betas when "Opacity" parameter of button's background didn't work. (It didn't affect on created EXE files). * Fixed small visual bug of Beta 6 in the timeline with mouse cursor. * Fixed bug of previous betas when changing of "Blur" and "Edge antialiasing" options didn't update view of an image in the editor.
  22. Eddie, I think it will be availabile in future version(s). Already recorded in my TODO list.Mike, Sorry, I was not able to reproduce those two bugs. If it will happen again, please try to write a sequence of steps how to reproduce the problem. And make a backup of this slideshow in ZIP archive.
  23. How sadly hear that Ron Wilkinson not here anymore! He have joined to the new forum in 2002 as 8th user and wrote 1114 messages.

    Moire Effect

For enthusiasts who would like to see how future Anti-shimmering option will work in v5.6, can try this option right now (in v5.5 it works in the editor, mini-player, AVI, DVD and not in EXE file): In .pte project file, find object and the next line: MipLevels=0 Change to MipLevels=1

    Moire Effect

For images which you will use for Zoom effect: 1. Don't use nor Bicubic Sharper resampling, nor Unsharp filter. 2. Sometimes it's necessary to apply slight Gaussian filter or enable "Blur" option in PicturesToExe for that image. In some cases shimmering still can occur (especially if you set zoom from large size 100% to very small - 1% for example). In future version 5.6 we'll add special anti-shimmering option which completely removes moire in any cases, but the image will look a little soft.
