  1. Thank you for your suggestion. I found the conclusions in that section rather confusing but it did draw my attention to the importance of the setting in 'View/Advanced Options/ Show real slide in mini player' Igor recommended placing a tick for this option. I found my problem was solved when I removed the tick! All very confusing. Is this problem caused by conflict between 64bit Windows 7 and PTE? It needs resolving I think.
  2. Help! I have a new powerful computer with Windows 7 and I find that every time I change the position of a slide on the Timeline (by dragging) PTE crashes and I have to go to Task Manager to get out of it. All other features of PTE work OK. Any suggestions please? Never had this problem before. All other programs seem to work OK.
  3. I wish to suggest that it would be great help if PTE was colour managed. As high specification monitors become more popular more people will have monitors that will work in the Adobe RGB colour space. If these are used to display PTE shows with sRGB images, users will be very disappointed with the results as they will appear over saturated. In the meantime I recommend you advise those using sRGB images to set their monitors on the sRGB colour space, rather than Adobe RGB. I learnt this the hard way! (Not all monitors give this choice, however). This is not a problem with cheaper monitors as they are likely to be limited to the sRGB colour space.
  4. When I view sRGB images in PTE on my new profiled Dell U2410 monitor I found the colours were more saturated (particularly the greens) than when viewed in other software (eg Photoshop). After experimenting with the settings on my monitor I have concluded that to obtain accurate colour from PTE I also have to use a monitor setting that limits the colour space to sRGB. If I try to use the larger Adobe RGB colour space of the monitor I obtain over saturated results. Disappointing! My older monitor did not have this problem as it was not capable of displaying such a large colour space.
  5. Further thoughts on my problem given above, I think I should also point out that this is the first time I have used PTE on my new Windows 7 64 bit computer. This may be relevant. All previous experience has been on XP.
  6. I have just noticed that the colour of my images in PTE 6.5 appear quite different to that when viewed in Photoshop, Lightroom or Windows Photo Viewer.(the greens are particularly bad!) The images are jpegs and in sRGB colour space. I have used PTE for many years and have not had such problems before. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Ray Groome
  7. Danny My approach is to drag the first and last slides of a section so that they line up with the beginning and end of a piece of music, using the Timeline. I then select all the images for that section and go to Timed Points / Arrange selected points. Repeat this process for each piece of music. No doubt the more experienced members will have a simpler answer. Ray Groome
  8. Thank you for your prompt reply. If the purpose of this data is to enable you to simulate the appearance when projected on a different screen, wouldn't it be simpler to just specify the aspect ratio of that screen? Ray Groome
  9. Beta 13 I fear the new Project Options/ Screen menu will cause some confusion. It is not obvious what 'virtual size of slides' and 'fixed size of slides' means, or its purpose. Ray Groome
  10. Re User Guide page 25: Under the heading 'Customise Slide/ Timing/ Scaled Keypoints in Objects' Is the description given correct?
  11. Is there something wrong with 'Timed Points/ Shift Points' in Beta 6? The direction arrows do not work correctly and the shift action is applied to more points than those I select.
  12. I note the 'Show Music Duration' facility does not work correctly.
  13. I too have got this problem. I thought I was buying the Video Builder but the key I received is 'Invalid or damaged'. I trust I will receive a correct one in the near future!
  14. Alrobin Thank you for correcting me on this. It is a little confusing as version 4.48 used the term' Synchronize slide show to music duration' and I thought 'synchronize' in beta 9 had the same function. At the moment it does not appear to do anything. But I can now see the facility is available in the Timeline- although the wording ' arrange all points' is somewhat vague.
  15. When I tick 'Synchonize slides to music' nothing happens- the slide interval remains at the default interval of 4 seconds and the slides do not adjust to fit the music playing time. I thought this facility was now active. Help please.
  16. This worked well for me. It gave good results when viewed on my TV and the rendering time was the shortest I have experienced. Thanks!
  17. It sounds as though your problem is the same as the one I recently reported in the Pictures to Exe Forum when creating a DVD. You will see that I have now resolved this by changing the backgroung colour and removing the thin white border around the pictures.
  18. Hi! I note you were unable to open the AVI file in Pinnacle Studio 8. I have managed to do this successfully: Go to Edit in Studio and click on the folder icon to navigate to your AVI file. It takes quite a while to download and when complete drag it onto the Timeline. Then progress to Make movie. Best of luck! Ray Groome (UK)
  19. After further experimentation I am pleased to report that I have now solved the flutter problem. As this occurred in the narrow white border at the top and bottom of each picture I decided to eliminate the white border. Unfortunately there is no obvious way of doing this so I changed the black background to white, thus hiding the border. Bingo- the flutter completely disappeared. The white background is not ideal, but it is better than having the distracting flutter. Presumably the narrow white border was interacting with the horizontal lines in the TV and causing an instability. Perhaps the white border should be wider to avoid this problem? Ray Groome (UK)
  20. Igor Thank you for your prompt response. I downloaded preb6 which makes reference to Pinnacle Studio but I am afraid it did not solve the flickering problem which seems to be confined to the narrow white border above and below each image. I did not understand the reference to 'Field A first 'in the AVI dialog box. Perhaps I am still missing a trick! Ray Groome
  21. I have successfully imported the AVI video file from pte Beta version 4.20 into both Ulead DVD Workshop and Pinnacle Studio 8 and created DVDs but both result in unacceptable flicker at the top and bottom of the TV screen. Can you suggest a solution to this please.
