  1. Just an update. As a result of my 'trial and error' system, I have finally found the size of the width - 680px. That makes the total PTE width, assuming all calculations are correct, as, 480 + 480 + 680 = 1640. George
  2. Whilst I have a workable ‘trial and error’ solution, I am rather curious as to try and find a more definitive solution so that I can continue to use the concept in future projects. I am working on a 16:9 project and have imported TWO portrait style videos onto the same slide. I have placed them at either end, meaning that the only black border initially visible will be in the middle. My intention is to then put together a montage created in my Photo Editing program, and place it on a top layer covering that ‘black PTE middle’ so there will be no final viewable black area. But am stumped as being able to get an accurate calculation of the size area I need to cover. Although these two video clips are portrait, according to their ‘Properties’ they show the width as 848 and height as 480. Assuming that is just an anomaly of the mobile phone, their combined width should in fact, taking the previous sizing to be correct but the wrong way round, be 960px (480 x 2). Perhaps where I may be going wrong is to take the size of the PTE 16:9 slide as 1920 x 1080 which gives me the size of the width of the black area I need to cover in the middle as, 1920-480-480=960. Half? It is clearly wrong, as can be seen from the screenshot. I can keep testing with background images until I come up with the correct size before putting together my montage, but surely there is a more exact science to be able to work out the size? George
  3. Thankyou for that advice. George
  4. Briiliant Paul, Thankyou. Something else I've learnt this year and it is only January. George
  5. I cannot seem how to workout as to how to add a Video Clip to a background image but delay it starting to play until around the 11 seconds mark? In my current project, I have a ‘background image’, I have then added a ‘cartoon’ which appears for a few seconds after which it reduces in size and moves to a position somewhere on the left of the screen. It is at this stage, after around 11 seconds, that I also want this short video clip to start to play in a position just above this cartoon. I am into the O&A tab but cannot see how I get the Video to start at the 11 seconds point. Even though my first ‘Key Frame’ for the Video is at 11 seconds, the video is already playing.
  6. A further question about adding text. Pretty sure I have seen it in a tutorial at some stage but cannot recall where, and have been wondering what ‘the rule of thumb timing’ is for how long should one leave text on screen for someone to read? Would it make it easier to read if use scrolling text?
  7. I just look at the ability to create and innovate and can only be truly impressed. Not only come up with the idea, but then to actually create the Style. I have actually watched 'stranger2156' garland tutorial quite a few times and have subsequently managed to adapt his Style and re-decorate. I thankyou for the Style and will re-watch your Tutorial tomorrow with added interest. Really impressed. Thankyou very much. George
  8. Thankyou for the Tutorial Paul. Very interesting. I like that idea as well for adding the birthday age to the top. George
  9. Paul Thankyou for that. And a nice glow coming from the bulb. Will have to study what you did tomorrow. Thanks Again. George
  10. Many thanks. As you can see I have been experimenting with your Style. Zip attached. George 01 - Test 10 - Street Lamps_Jan10-2021_21-32-15.zip
  11. Paul, Just tried but when I do it, it turns out the light completely. It never comes on at all. I would like the light to be on all the time. George
  12. Paul, I am enthused. I have experimented further with your Tutorial and now have street lighting (albeit flashing) and a flashing belisha beacon at a pedestrian crossing. My next step is to try and get the street lighting on constant. In the screen shot below, because it is a 7 second clip, the light comes on after about 3.5 seconds. Clone a Key Frame and place it at just 1 second does not seem to be the answer, the light still comes on at the 3.5 seconds mark. How can I get the light to stay on for the full duration of the slide? George
  13. Paul, Watched your Tutorial again and have now managed to add individual flickering lights to a garland over a fireplace, and, have decorated, with individual lights, an image of our daughter's christmas tree. Wow! The possibilites this opens up are endless. Brilliant. George
  14. Paul, Thankyou for the Style and yes please, I would like to watch this Video Tutorial when done. I am currently watching again your Garland (lego style) Tutorial. George
  15. Could not actually find any reference to ‘Indexed Images’. However I think I have finally solved my problem. Go to ‘create a style’. The ‘First Slide’ under ‘Options’ showed ‘3. Assuming that meant something and that this Style only needed one slide, I reduced the number to ‘1’. However I finally noticed that when I did this, the number showing in ‘Main Images’ increased accordingly. So at the moment I am not sure what is the relevance of the number that shows at ‘First Slide’ but it appears my problem is solved. George
  16. Currently following Paul’s (stranger2156) recent Garland tutorial, I am trying to create a new Style with two sets of christmas lights across the top. Should be no problem in theory so presumably there is something I have not completed from earlier? This morning I created my first Style for ages and it seems that the settings for this Style are not cleared. This mornings Style required 3 Images and I have tested it out on another three slides and it seems to work. However, when I later go to create the new two garland lights set Style, everything that I had entered earlier is still showing. Whilst I then subsequently changed everything (I think), when I go to apply this newly created Garland style the old settings are still included. Three screenshots are attached. The attempt to create the new Garland Style – Main Images I assume highlight my problem. The other Screenshot shows when I attempt to apply the Style, not only does it want to find three Images, it is obviously not the Garland Style. Just re-checked the Properties tab and that is the third. I keep deleting and creating, and have looked at the Manual but so far cannot see what I am missing. George
  17. So Simple! So Effective! So Watchable. Thankyou again. Was closely watching your use of Slide Styles and something I have not done for ages, I have actually created a Slide Style so again thanks for the inspiration. I have many Seaside Postcards that one used to buy & send when on holiday in the UK, so this nostalgic look has given me an idea. I hope you have an Inspirational 2021, and your family keep safe! George
  18. Is there any problem if one adds numerous video clips to individual slides in a Show but all which are of different sizes and frame rates? (eg 848 x 480 & 30fps, another, 1280 x 720 @ 29.97fps and so on). Or should I use a video converter first to get the video clips to the same size & frame rate before I bring them into PTE? With the lack of family get-togethers over the past year I was going to see if I could put together some of the family video memories for 2020 sent via WhatsApp interspersed with images. Just an idea. George
  19. Paul, Watched it. Captivating thankyou. Mosr certainly will be watching again but this time will stop start and try and actually match the video. Thankyou. George
  20. Thankyou Paul and I have also found the auto translate so my first New Years Resolution to watch your Tutorial. Many Thanks. Happy New Year George
  21. Sorry Paul, it must be me! (please don't agree though.) Yes I'd love to watch your tutorial but am having difficulty finding the link. George
  22. Paul Penny has dropped! Thankyou. Happy New Year George
  23. Thankyou Paul, However I would appreciate your help with this brilliant New Year Holiday Style, please! The style it says is 'applied to a blank slide' but your video shows it applied to other images. There is no doubt something obvious that I am missing but at the moment just cannot see. George
