  1. Hi Goddi, Thats good news, great to read that you can now save to Photoshop and do your work. But keep in mind that...Save to Web...is using the 'Adobe Protocol' in Photoshop to 'config' your work - you probably found that the 'Images' are smaller than the origionals. There are some Programs where you can't load Adobe protocols - just keep that in mind should you run across some other problems in the future. If you ever get an oppurtunity to download the 'Exif Reader' it will be time well spent ! Best of luck to yourself, and to Steve for the work-around. Brian.Conflow.
  2. Hi Steve, Thats a 'clever idea' it should work - I only hope that the Photoshop Options are not set to retain the 'Exif and IPIC Data'. From experience I know too well the difficulty of trying to get around these embedded codes. Its the reason I use 'Exifer' and 'Exif Reader' where you can actually command the Code Stripping prior to...Saving As... The 'Exifer' by Friedmann Schmit from www.snapfiles.com and the 'Exif Reader' from the same source will 'strip' the entire Gallery for him in one fell swoop and he can 'Watermark' his photos if needed. Furthermore it also saves the Exif/IPIC data should he need it for future use. OOhh, I forgot - both programs are 'Freeware'. Well worth a try - Hope this helps, Brian.Conflow.
  3. Preview Problems Over the years I had this problem with various Software Suites in that they 'embed' instructions into images for future processing. This is a feature of 'JPeg Image Technology' (should that feature be in use). The feature is also used by Canon and Nikon downloading Software "Adobe Products" often use this feature and when one understands what Adobe is all about then you have to be careful about what you are doing. Adode products 'assume' that you will upload and download from the Internet such as "PDF Files" and its the reason that thepowerful "Adode Reader" is on most PC's. The "Adobe Writer" however you normally have to pay for. With reference to Photoshop, it's clever enough to recognise the 'embedded encodeing' - it's an Adode product, and when you select...Save As...it will do exactly that and create a 'File of Types' in the Registry Root Directory which other Programs simply won't recognise. Why should they seeing that the Image contains 'embedded' instructions unique to Adobe. However if you give the Image a different 'File Name' and save as a JPeg it should work. Provided your 'Program Options' are carefully selected in the 1st. instance. A simple way out of all this is to use the "Exif Image Downloader" (Freeware) then you can export the Images into any Program you wish. This Program is compliant with Canon,Nikon,Olympus,Pentax etc..etc. By necessity this explaination is kept simple - the facts however remain as is. Hope this helps, Brian.Conflow.
  4. Hi Pkobes, This may help you:- The position of the 'Nav Bar' and 'Object Buttons' are a function of a geometric equation "best fitted" to the actual Screen Resolution currently in use. The most popular by far is the 1024 x 768pix.Format for 15"-18" Screens. This followed by the smaller Screens of 800 x 600pix.Format. for 9"-12" Screens. One can not adjust the relative positionof the 'Nav-Bar' but you can "tweak" the positions of the 'Object Buttons' for 800x600pix and 1024x768pix. and larger. The 'Object Button Screen' is best in a 'Monochrome 1 Colour Plain or Pattern' Full Screen. Keeping Text to the centre of Screen one can then place the 'Button' vertically on the Left or Right of Screen -or- as I do, Horizontally along the bottom of Screen. In this way the 'Relative Shift' of the 'Buttons' goes un-noticed by everybody (except you) for the reason that most people are 'married' to one Screen size. Hope this helps, Brian.Conflow
  5. Sound Quality Hi - Ron,Michel,DJay. (a) Sound quality is a very 'subjective experience' depending as it does on the quality of your 'Sound Reproduction System' - Room Acoustics - Fill Factor - Ambient Noise - Hearing quality. ( If the sound is MP3 you really need the best 'Encoder/Decoder' available. A good general Codec is the 'Lame Product' but I personally prefer the 'Fraundorfer because its' devoid of an annoying 'sibilance' which can be heard from most Codec's with Hi-Quality Speakers. ( c) I also use 'Audio Recorder Pro II' @ FM.Radio Quality 20-22050Hz 96 kkbps. CBR Stereo. That's one step down from CD-Disc quality, and heavens above, does one really want sound reproduction better than BBC.Radio1. FM quality - through "Quad Electrostatic Speakers" ? (d) It's my personal opinion that 'excessive audio-bandwidth' really stretches the PC.Processor's to their limits when managing the normal "Run-of- the Mill Sound Cards" installed in most of the common Desktop PC's. Those limits are very easily reached and is it necessary when one considers the limitations in (a) above ? If you really want to push out the Audio Boat, you would need a Sound Card something like:- "Creative Sound Labs 5.1 Dolby -with- Midi Inputs". (Today most sound cards don't have Midi) Thats my contribution for what it's worth and I think 'Ron' has asked a very valid question ? Brian.Conflow.
  6. Hi OkcJack, Pleased I could help - and as you have seen, the quality is not as good as the Monitor and indeed 'entry level' Projectors are much worse than that. However, if HDTV ever comes on line you will get superb quality (very near to Monitor Qty) and if anyone makes a Card for the French 1000 Line System - I imagine that would be very good indeed. Best of Luck, Brian.Conflow.
  7. OKCJACK Simple answer, yes you can run PTE to TV - I posted this answer last week. You need an "S-Video Card" in your PC which is manufactured by Nvidia. This does all the the AVI Conversion and Compression and Video Formatting in either PAL.Europe or the US.Standard. You connect directly to the TV Skart Socket for Audio In and Video Inputs - I see no reason why you cant connect to your Wireless Adaptor either- We use a Radio link at home and in my Workshop to address 5 TV Sets directly from a PC showing DVD's (From all regional Standards) Get on the Web and look-up Nvidia. www.nvidia.com Brian.Conflow.
  8. GETTING THIS INTO PERSPECTIVE Hey Guys, Take things a little more 'lightly' and stop blowing this 'Security Issue' out of proportion- YOUR COMPUTER BY ITSELF IS QUITE CAPABLE OF OPENING ALL EXTERNAL APPLICATIONS WITHOUT ANY PTE PROGRAM - HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU DOWNLOADED A "PDF or EXE FILE" AND OPENED IT? ................................................................AND.............................................................. Are you absolutely certain that your Computer is not infected with a "Trojan Virus" which is quite happily Transmitting itself from your Computer to many others without your knowledge ? NONE OF US ARE 'IMMUNE' TO MALICIOUS SCRIPT - SO MAKE SURE YOUR ANTI-VIRUS IS UP TO DATE. NOW LETS GET BACK TO ENJOYING PTE..... Brian.Conflow.
  9. SECURITY PROBLEM (2) Tom, following up on your 'security fear' concerning PTE - yes it is possible for someone to use a JPeg Image for malicious purposes. This has nothing to do with 'PTE' or other AV Programs such as 'PhotoGold' or 'Magix PhotoStory' or many more such likes Programs. It has everything to do with the 'JPeg Image' itself and its not alone in this field, and I think you accidentally discovered this 'anomaly' so some simple explainations may be in order. No 1. The JPeg Image is a 'compressed image' of a chosen quality on a scale of 1 to 10 - the higher the number the better the quality and as you know the JPeg is usually derived from a Bitmap Image with the use of...'Save As'... The compression algorithm code is written into the Image for subsequent control of Image on your PC. No 2 Unknown to most 'AV User' one can write code and script into the Image for other control purposes - This can be experienced in Web Sites where one simply "clicks on"a Photo to make an enlargement - there are many other functions one can perform through the Image. No 3 Unknown to the General Public but used by an 'elite few' one can "Encrypt" a JPeg with a full blown Word Document whereby the 'Encryptionation' is unknown to the Writer and the Reader where after the Reader must be in receipt of the 'Encryptionation Program' before the document can be extracted. It doesn't stop there because the Encrypt Program can generate millions of random ciphers known only to itself - but each one that it uses is numerically tagged fcr a particular Document extraction. All this is totally invisible to any Web User and for that matter any PTE User or JPeg User - To combat this your "Anti-Virus" Program must be set up for "Script Blocking" a la 'Norton' etc, etc; So you now know how absolutely vital it is for one to keep their AV.Definitions up to date. Hope this simple explainations 'allays' your fears - thankfully the "A/V People" are well on top of this. Briian.Conflow.
  10. Correction - Previous Post Following on from my previous post concerning the latest "IE.6 Upgrades" for Win '98 and that in reality its an XP Product ...and strange things are happening... In fact it was an abberation in my PC.System which caused the incorrect file to be sent out to Al Robins.. Having downloaded the IE.6 upgrade I forgot to 'run' the IE.Repair Program (a feature of '98) whereafter this 'defect' disappeared - one would think an 'upgrade' would leave things in a pristine condition - not so ! This also brings up the problems with 'Ndisuio.Sys' installed on XP and 2000, whereas if you are having unusual IE activity the chances are that a Trojan or a Hijacker has gained access to your Home/Search page. invariably they go after the 'Ndisuio.Sys' utility on your PC which is quite capable of 'Transmitting to the Net' without your knowledge. This 'utility' can be disabled on XP & 2000 - its worth checking that its not active particularily after an IE.6 Upgrade. I would like to add that this has nothing to do with PTE which another reader questioned ! Brian.Conflow.
  11. COMMAND LINE FUNCTION To:- Al Robin, Steve S, Tom95521 I have followed this 'thread' with more than mild interest. Since downloading the latest "upgrades" to InterNet Explorer 6 (5 days ago) - strange things have been happening with my trusty '98 which is virtually 'bullet-proof'. Example: 1 Just yesterday I sent 'Al Robins' two tiny PTE Programs for his evaluation - the PC sent an entirely different Program, unknown to me - I only twigged it because I have a 'bad habit' of double checking what I send. Example: 2 I stand behind a '3-Comm Hardware Firewall' and Norton A/V and 'XoftSpy Utility' and its well known in the Trade that "Win 98's" DONT AUTO-COMMUNICATE like XP and 2000.Well,guess what, this PC did despite all our armament - so I started to do some 'detective work' as to why ? Results so Far. Xoft Spy is one of the best Anti-Spyware utilities around, sure it costs, but what price Security? Well the program detected 'Alexa' and a Registry Key and Registry Value - These bear the trademark of a Microsoft Cookie - but in this case its a Registry key which XoftSpy deletes Except every time you start the PC back it comes. Also it has come to my attention that the latest IE.6.Upgrade for '98's' is in fact an XP Product and sure enough it come with the "Auto-Comms Utility" highly upgraded from what it was. Now I am trying to find the "Auto-Comms Key" and disable it - I certainly don't want my "PTE Shows" or anything else on my PC being broadcast behind my back - So if anyone has experience with finding "Hidden Keys" (and it is hidden) please advise us all. Brian.Conflow.
  12. PTE on the WEB Hi Connie, Simple answer to your query - yes it is 'do-able' - there are many examples on the Web such as 'Web Cams' and 'Video Clips' and 'Full Feature Films' - all which can be viewed "OFF WEB" by any decent PC with a 'Multi-Media Player' such as Windows Media Player 9 or 10.Other examples are 'Real Player' and 'Quick-Time Player' - probably the best Player. You need to convert your Show into an 'AVI File' (PTE does that) then the next best step is to convert that into 'S-Video' and see will your 'Server People' accept that for uploading ? Most modern Computers have an 'S-Video Graphics Card' made by Nvidia. The output of this can be piped directly to the 'Skart Socket' on most stamdard TV Sets and large 'Flat Panel TV's' and recorded onto VTR Tape. The Graphics Card does all the 'rendering' and conversion to 'S-Video'. As a general rule a 10 second Clip will be about 6mB in size. Any of the 'Video Forums' will help you with this exciting Project. Good Luck with it. Brian.Conflow.
  13. Hi Tammy, got yours:- You have enough User Ram at 256mB and 77% Resources Free is fine - provided you dont have too many Programs on the 'Start Menu' - follow this:- 1. Press 'Start Button'--->select--->Programs. You should have no more than 14-18Programs listed in the 1st Column (Ignore the Accesories Columns) If the count is way above 20 and PTE comes on line you will get erratic 'Buffer Overflow' even with quite modest PTE Presentations. Win '98se is not good on Memory Management. You will have to delete some of 'Your Downloads' from the Start Menu. I did say your Downloads - not Core Programs. 2. You said that you 'download' PTE to the Desktop - thats a No,No - in fact no live Programs should ever appear on the Desktop, only their 'Shortcuts' to the Program Folder where they should reside in the first place. 3. Start Button--->Programs--->find 'Windows Explorer'--->open it, and search for your Program Folder--->open that and find your PTE Folder(s)--->ideally there should be only "one"--->check it out. 4. HD-Drive 'Errors'. Start Button--->Programs--->Accessories--->System Tools--->andfind 'ScanDisk'--->run this in Thorough Mode and let it 'fix' the HD errors. I hope this sorts out your problems, if you dont understand the above you will need the assistance of someone in the know -show them this and they will get the drift of your problems. Best of luck, Brian.Conflow.
  14. Hi Tammy, Dont worry about the Literacy thing,we all learn something every day ! In reply to yours:- 1. I really need to know how many Megabytes of 'User Ram Memory' is installed on your PC ? 2. When you 'Uninstalled the old PTE Program' did you delete its Folder ? - thats vital. 3. If the 'old folder' is still on the HD, open it and delete everything except the 'Template Folder' 4. Drag this out and and park it somewhere, now scrap the 'old folder' 5. When installing PTE always give its Folder a proper name,eg:- PTE-410 or PTE-440 etc... 6. When Installing or Uninstalling Programs into Win 98...You must Re-Boot the PC from a 'Cold Start'...'Re-Start' wont do - I really need an answers to Item 1.....and would you confirm Items 2 to 6 ? Brian.Conflow.
  15. Hi Ken, I completely agree with you - problem being - that many people simply 'download SP2' in good faith and expect Microsoft to offer some 'Plain English Support' with the download. Thats a reasonable expectation with any 'Product Upgrade' downloaded or otherwise ? Anyway, the www.webattack.com - Pictorial Instructions on SP2 are intended to make good those "omissions" and make the SP2 Product more Internet friendly. Brian.Conflow.
  16. Hi Tammy, I note that you are using Win '98Se - they can be tempermental beasts at times, but dont panic - the System is usually "fixable" with the exception of a HD Fault, but then it wouldn't work anyway. The '2 Error Messages' are unusual because C:\windows\temp\apv-cfg.... points to a internal system (configuration) fault, and the other... Error 1/-error 103 says you have a 'Buffer Overflow' problem,ie:- The system is trying to do too much or trying to resolve an un-resolvable issue. Yep,98Se is like that - The simple answer is that the '98Se Operating System has lost its way because it appears that you have involked an error on the Hard drive -another cause- is that the c:\windows temp file is also used by the Internet and there appears to be 2 identical Files in it - Thats a no no, because thats an 'un-resolvable issue' - but lets see ! I can get back to the Hard Drive error but first some questions:- Q1.... Did you download anything from the Internet or EMails whilst making the Show ? Q2.... When 'Re-Loading PTE'....did you delete the previous PTE Folder and all contents ? Q3.... What size is your User Memory (not the HD) - its called Ram Memory ? Q4.... When on the Net are you loosing your 'Search Page' ? Note:Q2. Its very important that this question is answered honestly, not assumed. Brian.Conflow.
  17. Answer to XP-SP2 Problems I hate being the 'Devils Advocate' concerning this thread - but I have to disagree with the prior comments made - SP2 still gives problems to many PC Users, particularily when it starts "downloading" Programs and EMails with Attachments. This has nothing to do with PTE or other Programs nor EMails - Its all to do with 'User Knowledge & Experience' and not reading the XP-SP2 Instructions If you buy a New XP-SP2 PC - its all in the Manual - Read it ! If you 'Retro-Install' SP2 into an existing PC then strange things start to happen, such as :- ...I can't open an EMail.....I can't download PTE.....I can't Login to My Favourites...etc,etc. There is a 'simple answer' to all this when one realises that SP2 actually 're-configures' your PC. On the 'Standard Install of SP2' it sets your IE. Privacy & Security settings to High Custom Level, and as a consequence it tends to take over what IT ALLOWS YOU TO DO, it fact it makes the Internet virtually un-usable which comes as a hell of a shock to most users. Adding to the confusion is the lack of...Plain English Instructions from Microsoft ? The Software Site www.webattack.com provides simple 'Pictorial Instructions' as to setting up your SP2 for full Internet functionallity. I have a 'copy' of this which I can send to Igor or someone prepared to put it on a Website with due acknowledgements to WebAttack .Com Hope this helps our less experieced Members. Brian.Conflow.

  19. Internet Security Options This may help a few Members:- Get on the Net,then on the top Toolbar find..."Tools" click this and a new Window will open. On the top of this Window you will see 2 Tags,viz:- 'Security' and 'Privacy'. Select 'Security' if its set for 'Custom Mode' change this to 'Medium Mode' and 'Apply and O.K'. On the 'Privacy Tag' select and set to 'Medium Mode'-->Apply-->O.K This will allow greater functionality with 'Internet Explorer' and 'EMails with Attachments' - this without compromising any 'Firewall' you may have installed. For more "workable security" I always recommend 'XoftSpy' by www.paretologic.com. This Program is undoubtally the best Anti-Spyware and Anti-Highjacker program available, you can also avail of their 'Free Scan' - the program costs about $25, its well worth it and being a proper program its updated on a weekly basis and includes an 'Uninstaller' which most of the "Freebie's" fail to provide. This "omission" really gives serious trouble when least expected - Hope this helps, Brian.Conflow.
  20. Program Not Responding Hi Rebecca, It sounds as if you have a '98 PC ? and 'Windows Explorer' is telling you that the 'PTE Program' is 'Not Rsponding' - if this is the case, then you have accidentally "crashed" Win Explorer. All '98 PC's 'kick into touch' when they encounter something they can't handle - its a quick get out route for a 'frustrated '98 PC and sometimes its a blessing in disguise. Simply press together Ctrl + Alt + Del and when a new Screen pop's-up press 'End Task' - You may have to do this a few times. If this don't work find the 'Reset Button' on the PC and press it - alternatively 'jump the PC' by turning Off and then On quickly, you won't do any damage. Your Problem Tip No:1 To run PTE properly you need a minimum of 128mB of user Memory (User Ram) - If you have only 64mB of Memory you will always be in trouble for the reason that the PC itself need some 30mB of Memory for its own use, leaving you with 32mB for the PTE Program - its not enough for medium Presentations (50 Slides) to large Presentations +100 Slides. Each slide about 80k ~ 200k in size Tip No:2 When you finish preparing your 'Presentation' (without Music) simply time its duration. Now make sure that your Music File is 10-20 seconds longer that the Video File (you can adjust later)with the in-built 'Sound Synchronisers' in PTE. Tip No:3 Your Music File should be contineous without breaks and in MP3 Format. You will need a Sound Editor such as "Audacity" from www.soundforge.com (its Free) This program can convert CD Music and other Formats into MP3 format and you can serially add Tracks together. Tip No:4 As a beginner make sure that each 'Slide' has a 'Show Duration' of at least 5 seconds and if you are using 'Transition Effects' make sure that each is at least 2 secs. When you have more experience you can start cutting corners etc, etc. Tip No:5 PTE is a fairly powerful Program and is very stable - unfortunately we humans tend to 'bite off' more than we can chew, having said that I would recommend New Users to limit their 1st Show to less than 15 Sliides - call it "My First Test Show" - this way its far simpler to become familiar with the Program and resolve little mistakes we all made when first we used PTE - Hope this is of some help to you. Brian.Conflow.
  21. '98 Crashes with PTE431 Igor, This may be of some help to the New Member. We had the same problem with 2 of our '98 PC here in our Workshop. Sometimes both PC's "Froze" and sometimes the "General Protection Fault"was involked. In both cases we traced the 'fault' to the Win '98 Op.System. Win '98 does not like 2 Copies of the same Program on the PC, ie:- An "old" version and a "new" version on the PC 'Start Menu'. Probably 1) The Member is opening and using the "new" PTE 431 version - Registered on the Start Menu. 2) The Member also has the "Old" version PTE 414 (NOT IN USE) but Registered on the Start Menu 3) Nearly all versions of Win '98 will "fault" sometime under these conditions. In our cases we created 2 Folders for PTE,viz:- PTE-414 and PTE-431 - Then we removed the "old" PTE-414 version from the Start Menu. This solved our problem. To do this:- RH.Clk on the bottom Screen Toolbar-->select 'Properties'-->select 'Start Menu'-->select 'Remove'. In the open window search for the "old" verson of PTE and remove it. Sometimes its not 'Listed' there, in this case the "new" version has probably been installed in the "old" Program Folder - best thing is to remove it and re-name the "old" Folder then re-install the "new" version in a New Folder as described above...... Win '98 now see's 2 different Programs. This is a 'shot in the dark' but in our cases it was the problem. It's nothing to do with PTE rather its a case of "Fooling '98" - and as we all know Win '98 always kicks for touchdown. Regards, Brian.Conflow.
  22. Create Slide Show List Hi Mike, The simplest way of doing this is as follows:- When you have completed your *pte Preview or your 'Show Exe Presentation' Click-on "File" (top Lh.Corner of Main Pte Window) then select--> Templates, then--> Create Template. This creates a synchronous List of all the Slides in "Show Order" within the 'Template Folder' contained within the 'Main PTE Program Folder'. Thereafter go to the 'Pte Program Folder' find 'Template Folder' and find the Template of your choice, Open it and 'Save As...' give it a File name, you can Print it or do what you like with it. Personally I simply open it and make a 'Screen Capture' and Print it. I also make sure that the Printed List is 120mm x 120mm in size - this because I use the 'List' as the Insert Cover in my CD-Jewel Cases. This makes it easy to create ongoing 'CD Libraries'. Sounds complicated but its so easy to do - Hope this helps - Brian.Conflow.
  23. Hi Kurt, I'm off on Vacation in a few hours - No, I haven't heard of 'Turtle Beach Cards' - but I had some pre-data on the 'Fraunhofer MP3 Developments' when I was in Germany last year. As far as I recollect I think the 'Fraunhofer MP3 Encoder' is used in the "Nero Wave Editor" (also German) and it costs a bunch - but man oh man- does it perform and what a program Nero Wave Editor really is, one word - brilliant. Many thanks for the Turtle Beach "tip". I have saved your 'Post' and shall certainly have a good look at their Web-data on my return. Again many thanks for that consideration. I wish you a very Happy Christmas, Cheers, Brian.Conflow.
  24. Hi Again Ken, Well you guys on the U.S side of the "pond" are very fortunate indeed if the bulk of American XP-PC's are 'Feature-Loaded' as your PC is -and sold as is- as you say they are. On our side of the "pond" you certainly don't get a "Bog Standard XP" with a 350.Gig Hard-Drive and 1.0 Gig of 'User Memory' and a 'Virtual 120.Gig SCSI Drive' along with all the other 'goodies' you have installed. Most here are sold with a 100.Gig HD and a 'miserely' 256.Mb.of User Memory and a non-descript 'Combo DVD/R+CD Rom R/Write' (DVD Combo-Burner is much extra). This comes with a "stripped version" of Nero Express or some such like. Sure if you want to head upwards to the 2000.Euro mark you would get something 'akin' to your PC. This is getting away from the Questions raised by LumenLux and Robert LumenLux wanted a 'Fast Record & Retrieval System' for 'Bulk Image Storage'. Ken, he did say 'FAST' and I responded in that vein. DVD can not reach the 'turn-around' speeds of standard CD's running on a fast CD-Drive like the AOpen Drives. (Read his Post above) Robert (Bob) Apart from his PTE activities he asked the question is DVD suitable for "Backing-Up" Program Folders ? I for one would not commit important (irreplacable) Programs to DVD and neither would BSL.Ireland - the least of our reasons being the 'dodgy' cross-compatibility of PC-DVD Drives -v- Laptop DVD Drives. This is what Bob wanted to do ? Wayne's Posting-Addendum Ken,we certainly know the difference between a Single Layer and Dual Layer DVD and what a Double-Sided DVD is - there is no confusion on our part for the reason that BSL.Ireland are "Microsoft Licenced' OEM Computer & Network Builders and are quite well known in Ireland. The Company is run by my son Brian (Jnr) and his excellent staff, their Web Site and Web Shop are available on:- www.bsl.ie Hope this clears out the 'mis-interpretations' being picked up on this thread. ~HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL ~ HAVE A WONDERFUL NEW YEAR~ I'm off on Holidays to Bavaria and the Austrian Tirol to get away from everything Computer ! Best Wishes to All- Brian.Conflow.
  25. Hi Ken, Yes Ken thats O.K - but lets be honest, your PC is a rather 'Big Brute' with decent Memory,'Lots of Speed' and you had it 'uniquely configured' if my memory serves me correctly or that's what I believed when we last made contact - You don't tell us what you were saving ? were they complete Shows or Individual JPegs? Have your DVD Drives got 'inbuilt' Cache Memory ? What Speed did you 'Burn' at ? and the 'Big Question" did you burn in DVD Mode to a DVD ? was this a Single or Dual Layer DVD ? or did you burn to a CD-ROM Disc in CD Burn Mode ? and as LumenLux inferred in his origional question - How long did it take to Burn in the 1st place? I'm sure many of us would like to know how you done it with an access time less that 2 secs to a selected File - because it begs the question that many have tried and failed with everyday 'bog standard' XP and 2000 PC's where burning Data to DVD's took for ever to do - and the Data Recall was also extremely slow (Data=JPeg Images) The combination of both 'delays' construed to make 'DVD Mass Image Storage' a non-started compared to storing on the faster cheap CD's or Flash Memory as alternatives. Brian.Conflow.
