  1. I really do not understand your comment about the reviews, I am assuming that you are referring to the ones on Slideshowclub which certainly were not negative or discourteous in any way. I realise that the show is your comment on the election, however I found it a little too abstract, not really making a point until the end credits! The photography was up to your usual high standard as was the soundtrack. I guess that he (hopefully) will not be elected for a second term, then you will be able to make another show about your feelings of relief. John
  2. Liked the show being a fan of the Icelandic landscape, almost all the images are superb. I would however prefer to see more fades/dissolves as a break from the snap changes which are a bit repetitious. Regards John
  3. Hi Ken Rollei made more than one 6x6 projector: Rollei Universal P11 (6x6 or 2 1/4" &35mm) twin magazine channels P66 P66S Rolleivision 66 Rolleivision 66 Dual P (6x6 & 35mm) As you say a show on one or more of these is/was something to see and then of course there was the Hasselblad PCP 80 (at a price!) John
  4. On my windows 10 systems in File Explorer: Select the file you want to burn, then click on the share tab and select burn to disc. Alternatively drag the file and drop it on the CD drive and you should get a message saying files ready to burn to disc. Regards John
  5. Really enjoyed the images but the soundtrack ruined the show for me. There is too much intrusive crowd noise which is really annoying in the parts where there are very few people in shot. I think that you would have a much better sequence with a decent commercial recording and just a few crowd effects added in appropriate places. Alternatively maybe you can find some appropriate music on the Rondo Veneziano discs John
  6. Hi Mark I really like this version, there is just one suggestion that would make it even better (for me). Is it possible for you to crop/resize the second, third and fourth images so that the shoreline of the loch/lochs line up? In the current version they jump up and down a bit. Great soundtrack, what's the music? Regards John
  7. Hi Ken Have you considered a wireless keyboard like the Logitech Dinovo mini which has a built-in mousepad, otherwise your best option may be to assign shortcut keys. Regards john
  8. Hi Morturn Are you aware that the IAC offers a licence service for copyright music? When I was living in the UK I had one of their annual licences which allowed me to use copyright music free of charge, the then licence allowed for all AV's films made during the period of the licence to be shown ad-infinitum. Here is link to their current page http://www.theiac.org.uk/iac/copyright/copyright.html Regards John
  9. Having read the post by Cagney123 "lets all get together". It occurred to me that it would be a good idea to have on the forum a map showing where members are (no member's names) located. You've probably seen something like this on eBay where a seller shows a map of the world with a red dot representing a customer. Living in Perth I have absolutely no idea if there are any members or PTE users in Western Australia. Regards John
  10. Since Christmas is over here in Australia, I'd like to wish a Happy New Year to you all. John Perth WA
  11. Hi Mark Have watched the show several times now! Just a suggestion, I think it would be even better if the music and final image fade away at the same time. Regards John
  12. Hi Eric Thanks for your effort and my sincere sympathy over the free gif maker, Xara has some super 3D effects that is why I have it, I also have Aurora 3D Text & Logo creator but it doesn't seem any more friendly than Xara. For some reason the animated gif I uploaded didn't show in my post but it is there, it is the blank space to the left of the macro.jpg, the tif file has a transparent background maybe that is why it is invisible. Unfortunately Xara doesn't appear to offer the creation of a png file or if it does I can't find it! John
  13. Hi Lin & Eric This is driving me nuts this morning I tried to create a new gif using the text from the macro.jpg and it came out at 49mb! Needless to say I gave up after it completely crashed PTE. I am doing this to help out a friend who is giving a presentation on Macro at a local camera club in a couple of weeks time, he wants to run the presentation manually as he will be speaking about the topic. Attached is the background slide I want to put the animated gif on. I have attached a jpg of the text and finally a gif I just created from scratch which has come out really small this time. What I want is for the word Macro! to zoom from small to large and then stop there until the slide is changed. I must admit that the Xara help is not the best and patience has been tested to the limit. John
  14. Hi Lin & Eric Attached is the DXDIAG.txt Windows 8.1 pro 64 bit Intel I7 950 3.07 GHz Ram 12288mb GTX 660 2048mb GDDR5 Xara 3D Maker v7 PTE Deluxe 8.0.12 Gif file is 600 x 300 pixels 16 bit color (16mb can't get it any smaller when exporting from Xara) Hope this is enough info Have tried the Animation in Pte but the text is pretty basic and I cannot get that to work properly, I want to get the gif text to start small and then zoom larger. John DxDiag.txt
  15. I've used Xara 3D to create an animated title, I want to this on the first slide of my project. Xara says this must be exported as an animated as a gif. When I try to import this gif into Pte it runs out of memory and crashes Does anyone have any experience of using Xara 3D and getting the resulting gifs into Pte? John
  16. Hi MUR Have watched both versions of your show and liked them both I don't have a problem with the animations but I do find the constant change of Image size annoying. I also preferred the soundtrack from version 1. Regards John
  17. Congratulations Colin The excellent shows of your recent visit to WA (Perth, Fremantle) have made Dullsville look really appealing. Trouble is that when you live here it is not so attractive because of the isolation! Regards John Perth WA
  18. Steve I have to agree with you and disagree with the others, I get the impression that the majority of members on the forum are "old enough to know better". Newcomers to the forum need encouragement, they may well be easily put off by the "I'm cleverer than you" responses to questions. There are one or two members who give the impression that theirs is the only opinion/view that counts, this is totally the wrong attitude to take, it just reeks of arrogance. As for moderation, I'm hoping that it will improve, in the past too many childish remarks which led to vicious remarks were tolerated by moderators instead of being stamped quickly. I have seen in a recent post that the smart-ass remarks and comments are creeping back and I hope that the moderators see this. Lets be brutally honest here, for all those who think that they can walk on water, you still don't like it when someone dislikes your work and says so in a derogatory way. It is relatively easy to deliver comment whether it is praise or criticism, in a way which should not cause offence. Regards John ,
  19. For all members who have problems watching You tube videos there is an easily available remedy (modest cost), this is Internet Download Manager produced by Tonec inc. I have a feeling that it is PC only but I may be wrong. Once installed it will deal with all downloads. With You tube all you have to is select the resolution I always go for 1080 if its available, hit the play button. A small window will pop-up usually just above the video window, (if not check at the top right area of your your monitor) saying "download this video" click this and voila. The video file will now be in your downloads folder sub folder videos. Also works with files from Mediafire , Beechbrook et al. Hope this helps. Regards John
  20. Eric 10gb per month! How on earth can you cope with that? My download limit on ADSL2+ was 400gb per month, but my ISP gave me a new ADSL2+ plan last year, unlimited downloads per month for AU $50 or about £34. I probably use up to about 1TB monthly. If I post AV's I'll maybe use even more. Regards John
  21. Hi Ken Watched your show and enjoyed it very much, I used to go to the stourpaine fairs when I was in England. It also brought back memories of seeing the engines on the roads in Berkshire (I was very young then). I can understand why you used Memory from Cats, before you ditch Memory check out this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAL_-ajw4co By the way don't take any notice of remarks such "I don't like or don't agree with your choice of music" remember you took the images and you chose the music "one mans meat is another mans poison". Don't try and please the minority all the time. Regards John
  22. Hi Eric Loved the show, it brought back memories of happy days spent in Northumberland and Newcastle before and after the Eldon Square re-development. Seeing the picture of the arcade with J G Windows music store brought back more memories of buying Lp's there. Good to see the new buildings and the new footbridge. Have to agree with Lin about the animations. Regards John
  23. Eric Just watched your sequence, I liked the voice over but am not sure about the music but then you cannot satisfy everyone. On a technical note I wonder if it would have been more effective if the video had been in the window instead of the still shots. Reading the end credits I can understand why it was an emotional subject for you to make a sequence about. My family lost members and friends in the great war and I have always regretted not visiting their resting places before coming to Australia. I feel that you have made a very poignant sequence. Kindest regards John
  24. Lin & Xaver Thanks for your help. What it means is that I will continue to create the audio tracks in Audition and transfer the final mix to PTE. Didn't think of changing flac to ogg! Thanks again John
  25. Is the audio track feature a mono track or is it a stereo track? The waveform is not split (L & R). I have looked through the manual and can't find the answer. I edit my audio in Abobe Audition which shows both left and right tracks, adding sound effects which are often mono it is relatively easy to position them i.e. left right or centre, I may use 6 or more tracks. If the answer is in the manual and I have missed it please tell me where it is and accept my apologies for asking the question Do you think there is any chance that a future version of PTE will accept flac format audio? John
