  1. Thanks everyone for your input and your gracious comments about Beechbrook.Com. And thanks to Al for his attention to keeping a very valuable PTE utility alive. Bill
  2. Bart, Your "two cents" always counts!! Thanks. Bill
  3. Ronnie, Thanks for the advice. Per my PTE Upload Guidelines presentation rotate off my site automatically after 90 days. However there are exceptions to these guidelines. Utilities, demos, tutorials and presentations hosted on other sites, and only linked to mine, do not fall under this time period restriction. It’s those older utilities, demos, etc. that I'm concerned about. Some have been with me for years! If they are useful fine but if they need to be "refurbished" or "tuned-up" I hope the authors will consider doing this. I don't want new PTE users to be frustrated by watching older examples and not seeing some of the benefits of the newer PTE releases. Thanks again for your comments. Bill
  4. Thanks folks. Very valuable information from everyone! I just don't what to continue carrying old information that has been replace with improvements in PTE. The software continues to be enhanced and I hope that our tutorials/demos/utilities are keeping up with these changes. I will continue to host them hoping that the authors will update them as necessary. Thanks again and kind regards, Bill
  5. Greetings to the group. On Beechbrook.Com I am still hosting some very old tutorials and demos. With so many new features/advantages in PTE are these older presentations still valid or should they be removed from my server? Thank you for your input. Kindest regards, Bill
  6. Igor, I would love to see some type of grid (in overlay format) that could be turned on and off as needed while using the Object Editor. This would aid in exact placement of objects, text, etc. The grid could add more flexibility to the Set Position button which is already a part of the Object Editor. Kind regards, Bill
  7. Roy, Sorry you are having trouble connecting to my site. All links are working fine. Several folks are logged in as we speak. Email me if you are still having troubles. Kind regards, Bill email - cottage@beechbrook.com
  8. quickflicks, Don has placed his presentation on my site. You can reach it here... www.beechbrook.com/pte Regards, Bill
  9. jinjagoliath , You are welcome to either send a link (if you have your own site) or email me your presentation and I'll get it online as soon as possible. Kind regards, Bill
  10. My little presentation tutorial is still available to explain how this is done using only PTE. Email me at cottage@beechbrook.com if interested. Bill
  11. Unfortunately on Friday evening an estimated 41 names in the PTE Notification mailing list database were corrupted. If you are still interested in receiving notices of newly uploaded PTE presentations on Beechbrook.Com please go to the PTE download page and subscribe to the list again. I was able to recover 277 names but may have missed yours. When you subscribe to the list if your name is already in the database you will be notified by a popup window. Sorry for this inconvenience. Kind regards, Bill
  12. Anyone interested please email me at the address in my previous message. I've put together a better PTE tutorial explaining how I do this. Thanks, Bill
  13. mcarthur, Please email me at cottage@beechbrook.com. I've made you a demo showing how this is accomplished within PTE. Bill
  14. Hello mcarthur, Many experts on this forum can give a much better answer than I can. One simple way to do what you are asking is to begin by placing one or more images in your PTE presentation workspace. Now highlight one of the images in the workspace and click the Object Editor button from PTEs main menu. Your slide will be displayed. While viewing this image look up in the left-hand corner and click on the Picture button and browse your hard drive for another image you want in your show. Select it and it will be copied onto the same slide area as your first image. Click on this new image and drag it wherever you wish. Go back and select a different picture from PTE's main menu area and follow the same steps as before. You can move images around or by using some of the transitions. You can make them fade. slide and do many other things. Hope this helps some. I'm certain there will be better answers heading your way soon. Bill
  15. My hosting company has been experiencing network connectivity problems for the past two days. That is why Beechbrook.Com has been unavailable. Once the network issues have been resolved you should be able to connect again. Regards, Bill
  16. Oleg. You are very welcome. Your presentation continues to draw many to download it. I look forward to any new presentations that you will offer us in the future. Regards, Bill
  17. Maintenance has now been completed on Beechbrook.Com. I have reopened the upload area. I removed 17 files that were over 90 days old. Statistics show that these 17 files alone accounted for 204.87 megs of disk space and 4,568 downloads. PTE certainly is popular !! Bill
  18. Due to recent bandwidth issues, I have changed the guidelines for files uploaded to Beechbrook.Com. Effective immediately, all files uploaded may remain online for a period of 3-months (90 days). This is a reduction from the previous availability period of 4-months. Files that are currently posted on Beechbrook.Com which are over this 90 day period will be removed soon. This does not include utilities, demos or tutorials (depending on their size) or files that are hosted from other sites but maintain a link on Beechbrook.Com. Files may be removed prior to the 90-day period if I deem it necessary or if requested by the author. At this point file size is still not restricted however, this may change in the future depending on any reoccurring bandwidth issues. Before your next upload please review the Upload Guidelines posted on the PTE Upload Utility page. Thank you for your continued support and your cooperation. Kind regards, Bill
  19. To the PTE Community. I have been working with the hosting company since this issue first began. Today alone I have opened three different trouble tickets trying to get to a resolution. Hopefully we're making some headway!! Regards, Bill
  20. Beechbrook.Com will return as soon as the 'so called' Network Administrators understand that it is not a coding error (as they have reported) that is causing a server overload. My programmers have gone over the code and so far have found no errors. Sorry for this downtime. We'll return as quickly as possible. I believe the real issue is as follows: My bandwidth usage has jumped from around 13 gigabytes per month in March 2003 to between 26 to 28 gigabytes in November. Then it jumped to a whopping 31 gigabytes for December 2003 (with 5 days out of the month not even reporting data). Space is not an issue. I believe at this point it's simply bandwidth. Whatever the case turns out to be some changes will probably have to take place in order to continue the quality of service I hope I have provided the PTE community. Beechbrook.Com has not been cancelled. The service has only been temporary suspended to allow time to review the coding. This is continuing as we speak. Again, I apologize for the downtime. Regards, Bill
  21. Season's Greeting from Asheville, North Carolina - Home of Beechbrook Cottage. May this time of year bring you peace and joy throughout your homeland and household. We've had a wonderful year filled with many enjoyable PTE presentations, utilities and tutorials. Thanks to everyone who has contributed throughout 2003. I look forward to an even greater 2004. With warm regards, Bill (aka cottage)
  22. Hi Isabel, Just use the sync option from the Advanced Options area to watch your show and view the timeline at the same time. Bill
  23. Al and the group. I certainly enjoy hosting all the PTE presentations, utilities and tutorials on Beechbrook. Everyone has learned and is still learning from their “PTE neighbors”. Apart, we're certainly a very large global landmass. However through PTE we've become an interesting and very artistically diverse smaller community. Keep um coming... Besides PTE gives me a good excuse to cross the pond each year for even better photographs! Regards, Bill
  24. Thank you for your purchase Bill and gracious comments. If interested, we have created an even larger selection featuring some of our 2003 West Country images. Bill
  25. Igor and Bill, Thank you both for your kind words. For Karen and me there is so much beauty to photograph in England it's hard to get it all in. Maybe that's why we keep going back year after year. Already booked our cottages for 2004!! Bill
