  1. Yes. Create the fade in/out settings you want for one slide and then if you own PTE 8 Deluxe version just create a slide style. I have created something like this but it has a bar. It sounds like you just want the text. Slide style is a simple method to create sophisticated slideshows very fast. http://tom95521.blog...tadata-bar.html Tom
  2. Hi everybody, Very nice Lin! I think Alfred Hitchcock used it in Vertigo and it was a very interesting effect. I like the idea of a blur to simulate the depth of field. All good ideas. The texture zoom opposite the image zoom makes the eyes wonder what's happeing but not quite as good as the real thing. Maybe I should add the Dolby audio pitch music they sometimes show at the beginning of movies ... Thanks, Tom
  3. Trying to figure out how to do a Dolly Zoom also known as Hitchcock Zoom. Zooming image with opposite texture zoom. If anybody knows of another method to simulate in PTE I would be interested in learning how to do this. http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Dolly_zoom SkyDrive Link 2MB 16:9 http://sdrv.ms/Jo8w8g Thanks, Tom
  4. Hi Lin, A style is a self contained zip file with all the required media for the style. I was just testing to see if I could create a style with audio. I could not figure out how to add audio to the slide (without using either slide options or project options). That's why I am inserting a video just to play audio. The audio would play for each slide that uses that particular style. It should be automatic without user having to add the audio file. It could be an animal making a sound, etc. The first couple of slides plays the sound when a new slide is displayed but then it quits for no apparent reason. Tried creating a zip file in 8.0.1 with all the media but no luck. Tom
  5. Hi Dave, Cool! I didn't know style could include a transition! Thanks, Tom
  6. You just want to tell PTE what monitor to display the .exe slideshow? Tom
  7. I can add audio to a slide by adding video to slide. The video was created in PTE and is black 640x480. I can make the video transparent or set the order so the video is in background. The problem is when I save it as a style and then try to apply the style to other slides the video sometimes turns from black to green and there is no audio. Not bad enough to be a bug but it would be nice if we can use video and audio in slide styles. Thanks, Tom

  11. Hi Dave, Feel free to improve any of my styles. You can do things with PTE transitions and styles that are amazing. Mine are just POC (proof of concept) and FF (for fun). Thanks, Tom
  12. Cool. I renamed the .ptestyle to .zip and I could see the data. Thanks! Tom

  14. Dave, Can I use images in styles and share with others? I thought I might be able to make the miter with a mask but I could not figure out how to do it. I don't know what a .ptestyle file contains. Is it like a zip and it can images/sounds? I don't anything about Styles, just playing around. Thanks, Tom
  15. Hi Lin, I don't follow the French forum but I know they invented diaporamas. Amazing slideshows. Can't stop playing with Slide Styles. Too much fun. Simple Red Curtains. 16:9 ratio. One or more slides. Red_Curtains.ptestyle Tom
  16. Simple Metal frame. 16:9 ratio. One or more slides. Uses mask instead of image resize. I could not figure out how to miter the corners so I added squares instead. Metal_Frame.ptestyle Tom

  18. Most of my custom created styles are very simple without key frames. After applying my style I have to reset the duration of the slide back to the original duration (example is a video slide). I click on the full duration link before applying the style but it does not change duration. I don't know how to set the style duration equal to the duration of the slide. Maybe add new option for style duration to be equal to duration of slide when creating style (unless there is already some way to set this). Thanks, Tom

  22. Hi Roel, While waiting you can do almost the same thing by sorting the files (after adding your desired metadata columns) in Windows Explorer (outside of PTE), selecting the files you wish to use, and then clicking and dragging the files into the PTE slide timeline. They should stay in the same order you used for sorting. http://www.picturest...post__p__114475 Tom

  24. Eric/Lin, You will want to do a custom (advanced) install and delete the partition. Make sure you do a full format and not just a quick format. http://www.sevenforu...-7-a.html?ltr=C If you have financial or medical records you want to make sure are not readable by somebody else then you can use DBAN. http://www.dban.org/ And if you are really paranoid you do what google does. http://youtu.be/TQoKFovvigI?t=1m45s Comparing the IBM type M buckling spring keyboard to other keyboards is like comparing Stradivarius to other violins. Great for programmers and sysadmins. Tom
  25. Hi Eric, Makes me want to buy a new PC. Do you have a battery backup UPS for your desktop PC? Not needed for laptops but a good idea for desktops. I have a Cyberpower 1350. http://lifehacker.com/most-popular-battery-backup-ups-unit-cyberpower-1350-1467352240 Recently I purchased a new keyboard for my PC. It is a replica of the original IBM M keyboard. It makes a loud clicking sound but I never want to use a cheap keyboard again. http://pckeyboard.com/page/category/UKBD Tom
