  1. Thanks Igor, My pleasure!! Bert, Please see your PM. DG
  2. Apologies, I misunderstood your post. DG
  3. Another, more refined, "bookish" transition. The transition can be used to produce the same effect as in the EXE Demo. Dave Gee 9 DG
  4. Gerard, If your working aspect ratio is something other than 4:3 i.e. 16:9 you should change the aspect ratio when entering the Custom Transition Editor and immediately SAVE it. When you re-open the Custom Transition for further editing it should work OK. You can use CANVAS in place of MASKS. Please see PM. DG
  5. I'll start it off with John L Williams - Impressions of Venice. A pleasant show which must be a marvellous memory of a fantastic trip to Venice. Images have been finished in the "Painterly Style" - very colourful. I would have like to have seen more close-ups of the sides of the buildings. There appear to be some very interesting details there which could be explored. The music - I did not think that it suited the show and cried out for a more Italian piece. DG
  6. Please use this thread to discuss Shows posted at Beechbrook.com which don't have their own thread here? DG
  7. The problems with AVG seemed to come and go at regular intervals. Since switching to MSE a year or so ago I haven't had a problem. DG
  8. In Objects and Animation set a Key Frame at Zero and another at the extreme right hand side of the timeline. (Right click on Zero KF and choose CLONE KF - slide to RHS) Set the OPACITY of the Zero Key Frame to Zero and the opacity of the Right Hand Key Frame to 100 (in the Animation tab). Is this what you mean? DG
  9. No problem Jim, I thought that Comments were applicable to ALL slides, but as Lin showed, that's not the case. DG
  10. All, The reason I posted was that the "impression" is being given in this thread that these things are impossible to do in PTE. They are not impossible and they are not difficult. However, I fully expect that they will be made easier in the not too distant future. From the onset of Audio Editing in PTE I have used it exclusively and whilst I don't (perhaps) produce such complicated creations as the rest of you I haven't come across anything "impossible" to do in PTE. B)/> I'm not going to duck my head in the sand until Igor produces the "perfect Audacity Clone". :rolleyes:/> DG
  11. Out of PURE interest, which part of all that do you guys find difficult (or even impossible) to do in PTE? This JPEG only shows one track but it is no more difficult with 32. Please remember - not being argumentative - just curious? DG
  12. No Igor, Once the error occurs and I escape without saving it is OK. If I save before quitting then I am "stuffed";)/> - I have to delete the project in Explorer before I can open PTE again - the error is being saved with the project - does that make any sense? DG
  13. Hi Igor, I have tried this before - and I have just tried it again. When I open the Saved Project the Program Freezes - NOT RESPONDING. I now have to delete the saved file in Explorer and/or Re-Install 7.5.x because it is now impossible to start PTE!! DG
  14. Gogs, I have tried dragging WAV and MP3 files into the same timeline in both different tracks and into the same track. I could not replicate your problem. It is possible that either the WAV or the MP3 was causing the problem and NOT PTE. Which one was dragged in first (played first)? That is the one which is more likely to be causing your problem. DG
  15. Gogs, A more detailed description of EXACTLY what you did to create the problem is required before any attempt could be made to cure it. Are you saying that you had WAV and MP3 files in the same track or were they in different tracks? DG
  16. Hi IGOR, SORRY - that is exactly the same as 7.5.4. DG
  17. Hi Barry, He has answered in another thread. What he wanted was a transition which opens as your example does but spreads the image over two pages without a "seam" in the middle. DaveGee7 Custom Transition does this but there is room for improvement if someone wants to take it on. DG
  18. Hi Colin, My System is this one - bought off the shelf a year ago. http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/hp-envy-h8-1485ea-desktop-pc-17392849-pdt.html A year ago it was selling at the same price with W7, 8Gb of RAM and a slightly different Video Card. People say that it is possible to get better/cheaper but I prefer to buy off the shelf and know that it will do as it says on the tin without my intervention. I still have a HP Pentium which must now be around 8-10 years old with specs similar to yours which I have kept for all things musical. A DVD compilation of the sort we are talking about would take about the same time as yours. DG
  19. Agreed Lin, I use a 16Gb key and it is adequate. On the HDD side though, I tried a 1Tb on my Sony and it would not recognize it. Possibly it is because it is one of the earliest Sony TVs with USB and Media Player. But I would take quite a while to fill up 500Gb so I would not worry about it.:rolleyes:/> My point was that I would rather put the money toward a new TV if my TV did not have USB. As well as Video it plays all of the other Media that you would want without having to convert to other formats. DG
  20. You are welcome. DG
  21. Try DaveGee7 and see if one of those is what you are looking for? You can Edit the Transition and see how it is done. If you need help with it please PM me? DG
  22. Hi Colin, Further to the above, I have created a Standard Template which anyone can try and get a comparative set of timings for creating an ISO File and Burning the ISO File to DVD. The details are as follows: Project Size - 1920x1080 (16:9) 128 Slides - 2 Images (2112x1405) repeated with Pan, Zoom, Rotate and 3D Turnover. That's 8 Slides - repeated 16 times to make the 128 slides. Total time of show - just over 10 Minutes. A 1 Minute audio file was added in Loop Mode to keep the file size down. The resulting EXE is 4.39Mb. The ISO File is 558Mb and took 3m 15s to complete. Burning the ISO file using PTE Video Builder took 1m 15s. Burning a HD 1920x1080 MPEG4 for TV using the 1920x1080 Preset at High Quality took 22m and its file size is 1.730Gb. I am pretty sure that there are many systems out there which are faster than mine. I have PM'ed you a link to download a "Backup in ZIP" of the STANDARD TEMPLATE. Anyone else wanting to download it can PM me and I'll do the same. DG
  23. Colin, Lin's suggestion of a standard test is IMHO the best way forward. If just two alternating standard HD images are used and repeated say 50 times with a standard Dissolve that might form the basis of a test? I would advocate splitting the test into two parts - ISO and BURN. Both of these can be done from PTE's Video Builder. In your case I would respectfully suggest that you system is somewhat "dated"? DG
  24. Just one observation. A TV with built in MEDIA PLAYER and USB will allow connection to your own 500Gb HD for this purpose. Mine does and plays standard PTE MPEG4 files with no problems. If you already have this facility and that sort of quantity of material then the external MEDIA PLAYER is not required. If you don't have the USB facility on your TV then you might feel that the cost of a Media Player would be better used if put toward the cost of a new TV? DG
