Don, I really enjoyed the show. My comment was meant to be helpful? If the piece of music did not have such a "forceful" beat it would not have mattered to me but when using something like "Albatross", which I must have played thousands of times (professionally) it was a bit like having a drummer or bass player playing a waltz under a 4/4 melody. Thanks for posting, DG

Try tapping your foot and counting one, two, three, four. It's impossible for a musician to not know where "one" is? DG

NX2.4.3 released today: https://nikoneurope-en.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/57260 Changes to Lens Distortion section and other fixes. DG

Hi Don, I enjoyed the show and thought that the images were superb. But I have to comment about the transitions? With music like that you (I) expect the transition to fall on the ONE beat whilst your transitions were all over. Maybe it's my musical background but I felt that longer transitions on the ONE beat would have turned a superb show into something even better. Thanks for putting it up. DG

Jack, The accepted way of doing this is via the Print Screen button on your Keyboard. This is your Copy Slide function. You then open your photo editor and Paste into a New Document. Those who do not want you to do this can disable the Print Screen Key in Project Options. DG

Updating an slide show exe to the latest version (7.5.8)

Lin, I could be wrong but I think that even the Colour/B+W feature should not prevent the file opening. It will just ignore any feature it can't find or, at worst, give you an error message which you can accept and carry on. I'm sure someone with the version with Colour/B+W would confirm this (or otherwise??). Ron, Can you post a screen shot of the error message. BTW, are you talking about PTE running on a MAC under some sort of parallel system? DG -
Hi Keiron and thanks for the reply. I picked up the D600 this week as a replacement for the D700 which loved. Dust – I tried an f22 test straight away as a reference shot but could find nothing – so far!! The High ISO has improved over the D700 – and I was pleased with the D700!! I rarely used the AF Button so won't miss it. I have re-programmed the Function and Stop Down Buttons to Spot Metering and Fv Lock respectively and will look at others as time goes by. The Auto Bracketing is not really an issue. I was using 5 frame brackets but found the three was sufficient for most scenarios. The one that I will really miss and will take a little time to get used to is the OK Button in Image Review – I usually check at 100% before moving on and the D600 takes a little while longer to do this. Dust again – I have been trying to discipline myself into using a single lens when I go out these days. Either my 16-35mm f4 VR or the 70-300mm VR. Sometimes I use the 50mm f1.4 or the 105 f2.8 VR all day. Whilst not the main reason for doing this a by-product is that lens changing is reduced and along with it the risk of picking up dust from outside. The dust vibration system on the D700 was excellent and I'm hoping for good things from the D600. I have it turned to Power Up and Power Down at present. Can I PM you from time to time with queries that the manual does not cover? Best wishes, DG

Hi, Anyone here with a D600 willing to share experiences? DG

Hi M, It still will not let me send a message to you??? Can you PM out? DG

Maureen, Loved the show. Your mailbox is full. DG

+1 Probably like you J-C, I have been copying the original to a new folder and renaming the newly saved one in Explorer. DG

But the same MPEG4 will run on either Computer - with better quality. The MPEG4 could be written to the DVD as DATA and transferred to the computer desktop before running. DG
-
Try an MPEG4 (1920x1080) and (if possible) play that on the HD TV's Media Player via USB. Does that shimmer? DG

If you are planning to get the new Nikkor 800mm f5.6E FL ED VR, you will need this: D300: https://nikoneurope-en.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/57066 D300s: https://nikoneurope-en.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/57067 D700: https://nikoneurope-en.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/57068 DG

Project Options; More; percentage of slide to show main images. Use 90% for flat screen. Use a frame or similar as Main Object and make everything else a child of that parent. Apply to all slides. Untick fixed size of slide..... DG

Ray, You face a fairly steep learning curve, but your experience with slide film will certainly help. Good luck with your new acquisition! What are you going to use as a RAW converter and which version do you have? DG

Have you created a Zipped Show for Mac and uploaded that to Dropbox?? Zipped files have always worked for me. DG

Looks good Dick. And at that price (£1.99) it won't break the bank. I still think that you'll find that USB transfer is much quicker though? DG

Hi Bill, Great - another way. But why do people seem to have this aversion to iTunes? I find it great for the purpose we are talking about here. If the file is created and saved on the PC why transfer it off the PC to a Card when you can transfer it just as easily to the iPad using a similar cord? I also like the fact that iTunes gives me 10 billion radio stations to listen to while working (not all at the same time). There is more than one way to do everything :D/>. DG P.S. Some people don't have SD cards - some people are still using Velvia.B)/>

OK Howard - now review the results? What resolution MP4 did you use and how does it compare? DG
-
Hi Barry, That is weird. I click on that little arrow and nothing happens - there is nothing there. No pop-up - just nothing happens. If I navigate to the iPad's Films> Genres page it shows the same videos as in my JPEGs above. Tick or untick and Apply - it works. There must be a setting somewhere? Anyway, that's two possibilities now. DG
-
I think I need to update iTunes but this is how it looks on my older version: DG P.S. After updating iTunes the procedure is no different to that above.
-
I wiil try to add some screen shots tomorrow. perhaps someone else will step in before that?Which version of iTunes? Perhaps I need to update? I don't really want to - it is working for me. DG
-
Here's how I would do it via iTunes: Open iTunes In the drop-down (top left) select FILMS then GENRES Add your MP4 - drag and drop Connect iPad via USB In iTunes, click on the iPad Icon (top left) Choose Films>Genres Tick or untick the Videos that you want on the iPad Click on Apply (bottom right) Done. Doing it via Wi-Fi is exactly the same - it just takes longer. I currently have 3 PTE MP4 Videos on the iPad (Retina) which were added this way. DG

Are you using iTunes? It's fairly simple via iTunes but use your USB cable for speed. DG
