Hi Bill, Repeated the show on my Laptop with the same result - had to use Ctrl+Alt+Del to close it. This time I tried to alter the Volume level during the freeze to make sure that the music had actually finished. The Volume indicator also froze on screen!! DG

Hi Bill, That's the way it often is. But with more than one person reporting the Ctrl+Alt+Del issue it would appear that Igor really needs to look at it. I will repeat the show this morning on my Vista Laptop and also give it a try on my W7 PC - I'll report back. DG

Bill, Whilst I don't get Geoff's error message, I seem to be getting something that no one else has mentioned. The show did not close on its own - and because the keyboard is disabled (?) Esc would not close it either, so I had to resort to Ctrl+Alt+Del. Oh, I enjoyed it otherwise />. DG

Colin's show reminded me, in the nicest possible way, of the Camera Club Competition equivalent of the "record shot". When a judge makes that comment it is often to describe the difference between a beautiful coastal scene shot at 12 noon as opposed to being shot at sunset with a Lee Big Stopper and a graduated ND Filter. I loved the fact that it shows us parts of the world that some of us are not now likely to visit and others can put in their "bucket list" of places to visit. I am also pleased that Colin chose to share his memories with us. The fact that there is no strict synchronicity between music and slides does not worry me in the slightest. The music is pleasant background music without much in the way of dynamics and I did not find the need to worry about the first beat of every bar of music. It's a tapestry over which Colin could concentrate on getting the best out of his images without having to be strict about timings. I could be critical about the sometimes very contrasty images and blown skies but that is the way that Colin has chosen to present it and they are his memories and we must be grateful that he has chosen to share them with us. I suspect that Colin has returned from his journey with JPEGs rather than RAW images and this limits the amount of manipulation possible (please forgive me if I am wrong). So, thanks Colin - a great show. DG

Pinguin, Please try this short 8 slide Example. Click in the BOTTOM RIGHT Corner to go Forward One Slide and in the BOTTOM LEFT Corner to go Backwards One Slide. When going forward the "Curling Page - Folding" is used. When going Backwards the "Curling Page - Unfolding" is used. The two images used are low quality and repeated to keep the file size down. If you agree that this is what you want and that it is Bug Free I will post a Template for you. Example.zip DG

Not at all!! It uses the same pictures twice. If it is REALLY important to you that you work this way (Manual Show - Forwards and Backwards) then it CAN be done, but it takes just a little more effort. It is not something that PTE was designed for but Igor might consider it worth persuing. In the meantime please give my suggestion a try - it is not difficult - it just takes a little longer to construct. DG

I tried your Project and you are correct. The MPEG 2 seems to not like the custom transitions. Maybe we can ask Igor to comment. DG

This is how I would approach the same effect. I have tested this in your Template and do not get the "problem" which yours seems to show. DG OpenGate3D2.zip P.S. Your "problem" seems to be coming from the Frame that you have used to create the gate. The frame is (I think) unecessary and as you can see I have made mine without the use of frames.

The 16:10 screen issue is (I think) irrelevant. What is relevant is that you appear to have made the Transition in an earlier version of PTE. (Or you have modified a transition made in an earlier version of PTE). A lot of problems were sorted out in the last couple of versions of 7.5. With regard to the problem that I found with the transition, I believe that if you rebuild it in 7.5.8 you will have no further problem. The Slide 1 and Slide 2 images in the Custom Transition SHOULD be 1280x720 - yours is 1920x1080 indicating that an earlier version has been used. The difference between the MPEG2 and the MPEG4 are that the MPEG2 version is 16:9 within a PAL sized frame (768x432) and the MPEG4 is 1280x720 or 1920x1080. How much difference this makes is difficult to tell. DG

Here's a JPEG screen shot from an EXE of your template made on my 1280x800 laptop showing the problem with the transition. The arrows show where the front view of the gate has disappeared while the edge view remains. I haven't figured out the reason for it but the problem lies in the construction of the transition, I'm pretty sure. DG

It can easily be done using hyperlinks instead of the arrow buttons and having two shows in one. A forward show and a backwards show. Not difficult. Dg

I have now tried your template and have converted to MP4 - 1280x720 high quality. It plays in MPC-HC with only very slight hesitation on my laptop (1280x800) but I would expect this. I will not be able to try it on my desktop pc for a couple of days. I can see some problems with your custom transition - the front face of the gate disappears too soon (in the exe). This could be something to do with the fact that your project is 1920x1080 and my screen is 1280x800. Again I cannot prove this for a day or two. Nice transition. DG

No, but what occured to me was to make the list more logical by Alphabetising it. E.g. F1; F2; F3 etc Then Ctrl+a; Ctrl+b etc Maybe............ DG

OK, I have started a thread in the Tutorials Section which lists all known HOTKEYS according to the 7.5 Manual. I have added the F11 and F12 which are missing in the manual. If anything is added it is an easy matter to append it to the thread. DG

Barry, Your post raises an interesting point. I vaguely remembered a conversation with Igor about F11 and F12 (or dreamt it?) and went to the User Guide to try to find any reference to it. It was not there. I have downloaded a fresh copy and it is still not there. Igor could perhaps bring it up to date. DG

Highlight the object in the Objects Panel and click on the object in the O&A Window. Up / Down / Left / Right - all of the arrows work. Hasn't it always been that way? DG P.S. If your object is deep down, you might have to tick "Ignore Objects not selected" in Preferences.

Cagney, I agree in principle, but the arrow key is used to move the highlighted object left or right. DG

Igor, I have also had the problem experienced by Gary. Usually, closing and re-opening Firefox solves this, but it is a "PITA". If moving to a newly designed interface is the answer then "so be it". But that's just my opinion. DG

Just be aware of resolution issues? The pdf will need to be resized to screen resolution. DG
