Fostex 4 Track Tape - that takes me back! I have stuck with the Fostex brand over the years and graduated from 4 track tape to 8 track digital to my present (ageing) 16 Track VF160 16 Track Digital. It has =/- 6% speed variation but it is much easier to do it via Soundbooth (or similar). I believe that it would be a valuable extra tool if Igor could implement it - to be able to "fit music to slides" at the press of a button as well as "fit slides to music". DG
-
Some Audio editors, Soundbooth for example, have a feature called "Time Stretch". With it you can alter the length of time a piece of music plays, albeit with the inevitable change in Tempo of the piece. Example: Using Time Stretch on a short clip of 23.3 seconds it is possible to vary the duration of the clip from 2 seconds to 3 minutes with great accuracy. However, with my 23.3 second clip I would not foresee stretching beyond the 20 - 30 second range. It is extremely useful for making a piece of music fit a sequence of slides as opposed to the present "Fit Slides to Music" - within certain limitations. Care is needed to maintain the "musicality" of the clip but nevertheless it is a very useful tool. Would it be possible to include "Time Stretch" in the Audio section of a future version of PTE? DG

Firstly, Raise a "Support Ticket" at www.wnsoft.com/support/ You might need a new key and that is the only place that you will get it. DG

Hi Colin, Thanks. I only use primes for (outdoor) portraits in a wireless multi-flash setup with High Speed Sync - in the case that I am trying to analyse it was a Nikon 105 f2.8 VR. I also used my 50 f1.4 on the same session. As I said to Bill, NX2 gives a VERY comprehensive list of EXIF info but does not include Subject Distance for any lens. If I right click on a NEF File in Explorer and look at Properties there is an even more comprehensive list of EXIF parameters which includes Subject Distance which in my case is always blank. It looks like you cannot access this for Nikons?? DG
-
Hi Bill, There are some discussions which Ken pointed out which suggest that this is one thing they don't retain. The EXIF data section in NX2 is extensive and includes Subject Distance (Blank for my Camera / Lens) and tells me all that I need to know about Master and Remote Flashes, EV Compensations in a wireless multi flash setup setup but does not offer me Subject Distance which is important to me to analyse some High Speed Sync images. EXIF Tool is highly recommended apparently. DG
-
Hi Bill, It might well be that the D600 does not supply the info. DG
-
Does anyone know how the subject distance can be determined in the EXIF of a RAW or JPEG file? Is it possible? I have tried right clicking on a file in Windows Explorer and going to Properties. Subject distance is an available parameter but is blank for my RAW and JPEG files. My RAW converter does not list subject distance as an available parameter. Any third party gizmos out there that might do this? TIA, DG

OK, Staying on-topic. I totally agree with Peter's suggestion. Now, Will a Mod please tell me how best to deal with someone who (hypothetically) would answer a query regarding Version 8 Audio with a comment about how he or she never uses it and is going to stick with Version 7.0.7 forever? Would that post be deemed to be on-topic or off-topic? My comment about "Live and Let Live" was intended to get the thread back on track, but boy, it's difficult I know!! Maybe a previous suggestion of mine which still (I feel) has relevance and would be appropriate: Have sub-forums for V7, V7.5 and V8 Audio? I fear that the V7 Audio Sub-Forum would be a lonely place but who knows - it might also give us an idea of where everyone is at? DG

What Lin said. You don't even need to jot down numbers. just copy and paste the slide and delete one in each slide. DG
-
Hector, I understand that you have re-installed more than once. Have you downloaded a fresh copy of PTE V7.5.10??? Download again??? DG
-
Download V7.5.10 again and install again? Then let the forum know the result? DG
-
Lin, I "think" that you misunderstand the OP?? If you drag a movie into a PTE slide line it (the slide) assumes the duration according to the movie length. If you then decide to trim it in O&A and make it 10 seconds shorter by cutting 5 seconds off each end it then becomes 10 seconds shorter than slide duration and stops (freezes) 10 seconds from the end. If the slide duration were to reflect the changes in Movie duration this would not happen. The slide duration must be manually changed to suit the adjustments made to the Movie duration. I have already suggested this to Igor a while back. Nothing so far.............. DG P.S. By trimming in the Converter and making the CONVERTED Movie the exact length that you require then it does not happen - Slide duration = Movie Duration. But we all like to fiddle and further trimming requires the manual adjustment.
-
This was raised (by me) some time ago. To the best of my knowledge it has never been addressed. By right clicking on your video BEFORE adding it to the slide list you can use the converter to make adjustments to the length of the movie. When the conversion is then completed you can add the CONVERTED movie instead of the original. It's not ideal and I would much prefer to see the trimmed movie automatically change the slide duration but having asked once and not recieved a reply it is possible that what we are asking cannot be done? At this time the only way forward is what I described above or modify the slide duration in Customize Slide. Can one of the Mods move this to the Suggestions Sub Forum? DG

It could be that your text is a CHILD of another object in the slide that you are copying from and when you paste it you are pasting as an independent (PARENT) object?? If you are happy that you know the difference and this is not the case then forgive my intrusion? DG
-
Hi Stu, Screen shot not appropriate - not necessary. I followed Ken's instructions to the letter and produced the same result. Create a folder (Folder A) - put a movie in it. In PTE, drag the movie into the slide list. Agree to Convert. In the box untick "same folder" and create a new sub-folder - Folder B. Start the Conversion. When it is finished you SHOULD have your movie (xxxxConverted.mov) in Folder B. Folder B is EMPTY. I found my movie in Folder A with the name: FolderA/ Folder BxxxxConverted.Mov. It takes longer to explain it than to do it. DG

Ken, I have followed this thread and to the best of my knowledge from the evidence above, no one has actually tried this on your behalf? I just did and you are correct. FWIW, I think that it is a BUG and should be reported as such. It could possibly be fixed in a new version. Why not start a new thread in V7.5 and CLEARLY mark it BUG REPORT. This might then serve to help well meaning Mods to differentiate between suggestions and bugs./>. DG

I use the Template version after a show is completed and then (carefully) delete the working folder. Only images and audio etc actually used in the show is transferred. So the unused files need to be considered. DG

Use Template function or Back Up In Zip? DG

Keep last slide on screen at end of slideshow

In V7.5.10: Project Options / Main / Show Settings. DG -
I can vouch for Sony and Samsung and I think that there has never been anyone here for whom it would not work on their HD TV with Media Player. I also use mine with a Sony BR Player with HDMI connection to HDTV. DG

I think that you can use a "workaround" to Animate the colour of text by overlaying different colour versions of the text and use Key Frames or Masks to animate the Opacity of the top version. The intermediate colours will not be strictly correct but by choosing suitable colours a pleasing effect can be acheived. DG

Project Options: 16:9; 1920x1080. Output Options: Go with the default settings offered by PTE. It works!! HD Video; 1920x1080; High Quality. Pan and Scan Enabled. You do not need to do anything else. Transfer to Memory Key and it's done. I have a 16Gb Key almost full of shows done that way and all are perfect. DG
-
Make a Blank JPEG in your picture editor at the Resolution and Aspect Ratio of your project e.g. 16:9 and 1920x1080 (or 1280x720). Add the Blank image in Objects and Animation. Right click in the Object Panel on the right and "Add" - Image. In O&A Properties make it the "Main Object of Slide". Right click on the Blank Image to "ADD" an image as a "Child" and you will get similar to that shown in the PDF. DG

Rose, Forgive me if I am talking to the initiated..... One of the things that PTE users will stress is that each Project should have its own folder which contains all of the necessary components of that Project - JPEGs; MP3s; PNGs Video files etc. Cherry picking from multiple folders will lead to disaster someday. Probably words to the wise, but I felt that it needed to be said?? DG
