  1. I would like to echo RayC's comments, this is really shocking news, I do hope that Jean-Pierre will have a speedy recovery, we need him back on this forum, providing us with inspiration and leading the way with his excellent slideshows and templates. My thoughts are with him, yes. God be with you Jean-Pierre.
  2. Hi Dom Thanks for checking, that will save me some money. Liked the Filmstrip template, thanks.
  3. I am interested to know whether Digital Juice, Jump Backs work with PTE 5.0, does anyone use them?
  4. Hi Dom I have just reviewed the PhotoPile template on your web site, I quite like it, not sure if it should have the straight photo frame, perhaps in a pile photos are concaved. However, will use it as is, thanks for sharing.
  5. I don't wish to be drawn into this discussion, I am not qualified to do so, my reason for this reply is to record my amazement at the 'short demo' posted by LumenLux. I don't know how you did it, but because I have watched some of the magic of TheDom and others I can possibly guess, what a fantastic effect. thanks for sharing this with us.
  6. Lin I have downloaded the Flix Pro demo and played around with it a little, but it does not seem to produce a htm file. I can get it to produce an FLV movie and SWF file, any ideas.
  7. Ray Thanks, that's how it works!
  8. I thought that I had solved the problem, but I cannot seem to get ImageReady to save the slice consistently as .jpg, sometimes it is .gif. Can anyone explain the right process to save slices.
  9. Lin Thanks for posting Flash Tutorial Instalment 2, I have printed of and read the pdf file. Everything is very clear, you have explained the process very well. Just one minor point, I cannot easily see the file name of the movie in the script. Also do you thing that I could simply use the Photodex ProShow Producer Flash output? Here is the HTML Code from PSP, in this case the file name is 'slideshow' <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,0,0" width="640" height="510" id="test" align="middle"> <param name="movie" value="slideshow.swf" /> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <param name="play" value="true" /> <param name="bgColor" value="#FFFFFF" /> <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> <embed src="slideshow.swf" width="640" height="510" quality="high" play="true" bgColor="#FFFFFF" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /> </object>
  10. Silvia You will be pleased to know that I have done it, thanks for all of your help. I am not sure whether I did the right way, it does not matter, I have been able to recreate the Chantilly Effect in my own slideshow. What a relief.
  11. Hi Dom Let me be the first to congratulate you on this demo and template, I like it very much indeed. You do come up with some great effects, thanks for sharing. One very minor 'Huston we have a Problem' is the marching ants type affect around the edges of the photographs.
  12. Silvia Good Morning, its now Thursday here in the UK. I am getting there slowly, I have been able to renumber each slice to reflect the Chantilly example. I am not sure how to save the individual slices as .jpg files so that I can copy/paste into PTE. Can anyone help with this one?
  13. Silvia Thanks again for your help, yes, I fully understand you, thank you for writing in English. I think that you manually changed each slice renaming as per Chantilly PTE.
  14. Hi Dom Thanks for the attachment, its a great help.
  15. Silvia Thanks for your help, I have made some progress, I have been able to create 94 horizontal slices in PhotoShop. Do I then transfer these into ImageReady, if I do this, I can see 94 slices in the layers palette. The next question is, how do I rename the slices as per Chantilly, is this done in PhotoShop or ImageReady? The further question is how do I save these and then import into PTE. I am still smiling.
  16. Hi Guys I am sorry to be a bit of a bore on this one, but I just cannot make head or tail of what is happening, I just don't get it! I have tried to copy and paste 1x1.bmp, and I have just about been able to right click and copy. Using the HAWK method I have left PTE open and then opened a new project, but I am not able to right click paste, I have lost the copy of 1x1.bmp. If I go through the process, I can copy and paste within the same project, but that is not what I am trying to do, any advice would be welcomed. Now the second part of my dilemma is I do not understand how you are able to slice the pic for use in 1x1.bmp. I have seen that RayC refers to ImageReady, what is all that about, again can anyone help! I am so wishing to create the effect that the image changes whilst turning horizontally through 360 degrees.
  17. Hi Dom I am back again, I have now studied the way the process works and I have made a couple of changes. I prefer the opacity to be 100% on the pics and frames. The reason is that when the incoming pic is building, with opacity changing from 0% to 100% the background shows through the incoming pic.
  18. Hi Dom That was quick, I have tried the template and it is exactly what I was looking for, thank you very much indeed. I note your comment about studying how it all works, I will do so immediately. My only other question, is that on your web site you state the following, 'Please, have a look at the README file included in the archive, there are important instructions.' I cannot find this file, can you please help.
  19. Dom I have just found the sweep effect template, I can see how to add pages and new photographs, that is working fine. However, I would like to add a border to the photographs (straight) and the background to reflect the main picture, how do I do that, can you help me.
  20. Hi Lin Thanks for your advice on storage, I will look into again and see what I come up with. I greatly appreciate you reissuing the posting on Flash, I will be looking forward to it.
  21. Hello Barry and Hi Lin You will know that I am recent convert, having purchased ProShow Producer 3.0 for $399.00, it is now on its 16th re-build and still doesn't come close to PTE. Lin - I would also be interested to see your past posting on the subject of converting to Flash. I do have a website but I thought that I would need to use my hosting comapany's server and I believe the cost of storage is quite high, that is why I am looking for some other way of customers being able to download my demo slideshows, etc. I understand that Flash is of lower quality, but everyone seems to have a Flash Player on their PC.
  22. Fred I do agree, this is a great forum. I also contribute to the ProShow Enthusiasts Forum, that is also very good. Just shows that people generally want to help each other. Talking about helping others, thanks for the tip about using the first two slides, making changes and than repeating them throughout the show. What a neat idea, thanks.
  23. Igor/Keith/Fred I thank you for your comments, I agree we don't want Igor to disclose his fine details of the workings of PTE, I suppose my original questions was a little naive. I again suppose that I was acknowledging the excellence of PTE.
  24. Hello Gordon I am the same, I am retired so I do have plenty of time, and this forum does fill most of it. I seem to be reading postings more than producing slideshows, although, thanks to The Dom I have just completed a couple of stunning shows using his Photo Album template and Frames Animation. I want to lean more about PTE, I can do the straight forward effects, but I am a lose to know how some others are done. I have been in contact with RayC in New Zealand about the opening effect in JPD's Chantilly show, I would love to know how it is done.
  25. This is a genuine open question. I have both Photodex ProShow Producer (PSP) and WnSoft PTE BETA#5 and clearly the quality of the finished DVD in PTE is better than PSP, why is this the case? I would like to use PTE, but a couple of downsides for me is that WnSoft do not operate a Sharing Server, nor can you produce a Flash output. I have a website but I do not want to have my own server, the reason I am looking for a Flash output is so that I can give potential customers the option to run a slideshow in Flash. I can of course produce an .avi file in PTE and transfer into PSP, but the quality in PSP deteriorates greatly. What is the best way to capture a project from PTE so that I can give my potential customers the option I think they will need.
