  1. Dom Thanks for producing the template of the Wedding Animated Background, I do appreciate the special treatment. This will be very useful, hopefully I will understand how you did it and then make my own in the future. Cheers
  2. Peter I have successfully converted an .avl file with a video decompiler were each frame is created into an individual slide. I then ran these as part of my normal slideshow, with a timing per slide of 35-45 msec and with no effects and zero transition timing. I did have some problems with some BETA versions of PTE 5.0 but know that the pre-release version is available I don't have any problems. There is nothing complicated about it, just treat as a normal slide, works like a dream.
  3. Igor I fully agree with the other contributors, PTE is an excellent value, I should know, until I saw the light, I was a user of ProShow Producer at $399.00. Congratulations to you and your direct and BETA teams.
  4. Ron I am not sure that I understand the question, but all I do is select Project Options, then Screen and then from the drop down menu the 16x9 screen size. For the menu I do the same in the video builder section, it all works well for me.
  5. Ray Count me in also, I would be interested to know more about the subject. I have an HD TV but would I need a HD DVD player in order to use anything produced through PTE?
  6. Igor I really do appreciate that you will add this feature to your TO-DO list, would it also be possible to add music to the menu.
  7. Limey/Dom Yes, that is what I am looking for, sorry I did not explain myself very well. What I can do in ProShow Producer and I would like to do in PTE is run an introductory show before the menu appears, totally as Limey correctly thought. I am sure you have seen this on professionally produced DVDs.
  8. Dom I am not using a video, I have decompiled an avi file into 600 slides, I then play these with a 35 ms timing, it work fine. It is a trick that I had from Lin Evans.
  9. Before I saw the light I used ProShow Producer, it had a nice feature in that it would run an intro movie before showing the DVD Menu. This looks very professional, it enabled me to display a disclaimer and run my logo animation. I believe that this would be a nice feature in future PTE versions. I have also commented on the wish to be able to play music over the DVD Menu.
  10. Igor That is really great news, I am so enjoying using PTE 5.0, it is a wonderful piece of software. Ron When I reduce the opacity, it is fine, you don't see the image, but when I play the DVD the outline of the image appears as a dotted outline. Ken Thanks for your input, will do, and see what I come up with - Cheers
  11. Ron I have a separate drive that I save all my PTE and PSP templates and another drive that I save my finished projects.
  12. Hello Dom Like others have said, I really do like this effect, it works very well with the recent changes. My only other comment would be with the ending, I think that there does need to be a finishing feature, perhaps the photographs should finish back in the envelope, not sure?
  13. Hello david Thanks for the tip, I will try that and see what happens.
  14. Ron Thank you for taking the trouble to produce the tutorial and post it on the forum. As usual it is very well written, easy to follow, thanks it will be a great help.
  15. I am used to ProShow Producer and would normally add music to my DVD Menu's, can this be done in PTE 5.0? Also I would like to delete the thumbnail and play button in the template menu, is the possible. Can I produce my own DVD Menu?

  17. Dom Thanks for taking on board the various suggestions, this will be another fantastic template, as others have said, " you are very innovative" Please keep them coming.
  18. Dom I would just like to add my thanks and congratulations for another stunning effect. My only minor comments, are (1) is it possible to change the way the photographs leave the envelope, can the envelope stay stationary and the pack of photographs come out of the envelope and lay on top of the envelope. (2) When the effect starts with the stamp should the Country, Date and Post Mark be seen right away and not after a delay. I hope that I have explained myself.
  19. Lin I thought that this was the case, I think that there was some reference to his passing on this forum. I did not know Peter, other than through his work on this forum, he will be sadly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
  20. I have a BenQ monitor and it is set to 1280 x 1024 screen resolution.
  21. Hi Dom Found the jumpbox and selected Solaris, feel very happy with that look. Thanks
  22. Hello Dominique It is great to see that you are back in business, just popped into see the site, it does look quite different, not sure about the white look. I felt very comfortable with the black look, but I am sure that I will get used to it soon enough. Anything new in the pipeline, I am sure that there is, looking forward to seeing what you have been up too.
  23. Dom Great to hear that your web site will be relaunched soon, I have really missed not being able to drop in and see what is available.
  24. Hi Ray/LumenLux I am pretty certain that I had separate copies of the shows because the .exe files show a different slideshow. Ray - I note your method, does this mean that you are taking up valuable disc space? Clearly there is a problem using the original template file each time, but I do keep separate copies of all of the slides, so in the end I will just have to copy and paste them back into the template file. The Photo Album, like all of TheDom's templates really does work very well indeed, I am very pleased with them all, so sorry to hear of the problems with his web site.
  25. Hi Fred I will try and explain what is happening. I am using one of TheDom's templates, Photo Album, which I created using PTE Beta#9 from which I created two separate PTE files, e.g. Burma and Portugal. At the same time I created a .exe and .scr file of each show. When I play the .exe files they play OK, however, when I play the .pte files they turn out to be the same show. What I have now realised is that notwithstanding that I have created the .pte file and saved it at a separate place and with it own file name, when I open it in PTE, it plays the slides that are currently sitting in the original template. My new question is this what always happens? To play a .pte file do I need to make sure that the original template files are the sames as I have in the show.
