  2. I tried using Chrome but got this message: There was a problem processing the uploaded file. -200 I was uploading two zip files each around 180MB, (win and mac versions) so I tried again with just one file, same error message.
  3. Hi folks, I cant get the uploader on Slideshow Club to work. My uploads stalls at 11%, I've tried 3 times with the same result. I have left a couple of messages on the site but haven't heard from the Anyone else having problems?
  4. Thank you Lin for all of these. I downloaded them all and will have a look trhough them over the next few days. I suspect i will have to take lots of notes!
  5. A simple slow fade slideshow of a family holiday to New Zealand. V1 was done in 2009 and then forgotten about, this is V2. Slide Show Club http://www.slideshowclub.com/files/file/406-new-zealand/
  6. Thanks Igor, I am happy to help.
  7. I must look for how to submit a comment, I too wondered about submitted a review, and star rating it - on your own show!
  8. Everyone is different, I know folk to meticulously plan their approach, note what images they will need and then go out and take the photos. This can be most useful when your show is telling a story with narration. For me the music is key, it is the glue that holds it all together. I will often come across a track, usually dramatic music from a film and I just know what images will go with it. But everyone is different!
  9. Hi folks, I notice that some members give feedback on the shows here, whilst others give their feedback on slideshowclub. SSC has the built in facility to 'star rate' the show, which is not available here. Maybe it doesn't matter, but I was wondering do the admins/ mods have a preference or a suggested approach we should follow?
  10. Hi Mike, can I ask you to create mac version please? As a landscape lover, I would like to see it and would be happy to give you detailed feedback, if you wish.
  11. Davy, thank you, I didn't know about the digital signature. Barry, I know that this is there, I thought that having the same approach for win and mac would improve the flow and layout of the menu system.
  12. In the menu under 'Publish' there are two sections for writing an Windows Executable, one as an Exe and one as a zip. I think the same approach should be used for Mac, one for the app and one for a zip. At the moment there is only one section for Mac, which has buttons to select zip or app. It is only a minor point, I know, but I think this would improve the look and flow of the menu under Publish.
  13. DG thanks for explaining. John I will re work those first few slides. I had been focusing on the last few to get them all 'just so'!
  14. As you have probably noticed, I have been revisiting some of my slideshows. This is a rework of an old photo harmony show, updated with new photos. I hope you like it. As always, feedback is most welcome. Win and Mac versions at Slideshow Club. http://www.slideshowclub.com/files/file/400-wild-scotland/
  15. Hi Igor, as always, I am most happy to promote PTE. As the father of the bride, I was warned many months in advance, that I was not to spend the day with my camera. So; as a gift to my daughter, I sought out a suitable 'professional wedding photographer' and paid for his services. This took some time, checking out their work and the feedback they had received. I live in Ireland and my daughter was getting married in England. Eventually, I came up with 3 photographers and asked my daughter to choose. To my delight, she chooses the guy I liked best. On the day, he was superb, relaxed, confident and just did his thing in the background. All I have done in this slideshow is put together some of Andrew's mono work, with appropriate music. Clearly; as an experienced user of PTE, this was so easy to do. The only hard bit was finding the right music and then syncing the music to fit the images. The music is the glue that sticks everything together. I have shown this slideshow to my camera club and the feedback was great. Many members said that they thought watching someone else's wedding was bound to be boring, but the show held their interest and some even became emotional! PTE offers, via "PUBLISH" win exe, win zip, mac app, mac zip, and HD video as mp4. I have found that the YouTube export crops to 16:9 and I like my shows at 16:10, so I never use this option. Please feel free to let your photographer friends see this. http://www.slideshowclub.com/files/file/395-claire-and-waynes-wedding/
  16. A cacophony of pandemonium; sights, sounds and smells, people and pollution, resulting in a sensory overload. The poverty and rubbish are in sharp contrast to the armed guards at gated hotels, where there is not a single leaf out of place. On the streets; the children, who seem to have nothing, are happy and clean. It's confusing, sometimes most disturbing, but a wonderful place to visit and (for me) a once in a lifetime experience. (Following Barry's advice, I re-visited this show that was V1 in 2015. For some reason, it just didn't work for me. But it now does in V2.) Win and Mac versions are at http://www.slideshowclub.com/files/file/398-india/
  17. Hi Barry, I have struggled with the music for this one. I first used a lovely track by Karl Jenkins, but I showed it at my camera club the feedback was that the music was too European and that I should try and find some 'Thailand' music. Easier said than done I can assure you! I bought a CD of local music when I was over there, but none of the tracks worked. So I went with 3 tracks of film music from the Marigold Hotel, (India I know, but Asian). The three tracks started as 1,2,3 and then 3,1,2 and I also tried sitar music by Ravi and then track 3, but it didn't work either. So I'm back to track 2,1,3! I think leaving it and coming back to it in a while is a good idea. Thanks for your help.
  18. As always, Barry I appreciate your honest and genuine advice. Thank goodness to have someone who can say what they think! This show has been causing me some headaches. I go from V1, to V1.1 and to V1.2 and back to V1. I think I might be better doing one that relates to the people and another on the temples, etc. I have updated the show (V1.2.1) on SSC. I fully agree that this is just one for the family, as all my shows start off as, and not one for competition. Whilst it is pleasing to watch, it doesn't have the impact of "Iceland" or "Scotland".
  19. Not a problem, holiday season etc. In the past I have found this forum to be a mixed bag, sometimes there is loads of really useful feedback and other times very little. I suspect it's a human thing, people will give feedback to those who have previously been helpful in offering the same.
  20. Thanks Mick. I always exclude the navigation bar as I find it distracting. But it is a fair point when asking for detailed feedback.
  21. This is an updated version 1.2. I had high hopes for this one, for a photo harmony competition next year, but I just can't get it to flow as I'd like. So, it's now just a family show of a recent trip to Thailand, I hope it may make you want to consider Thailand as a holiday destination. It is longer than my usual 4 - 5 mins, but I think the music glues the three portions successfully. I may do two short versions from this long one, one with people and landscapes and another with people and temples. As always, I welcome detailed constructive comment, ideas and suggestions. (If anyone can provide this, please point me to one of your shows and I'll return the favour.)
