  1. Lin, This show is crying out for Klingons. Warp six is for wusses. We need warp factor 11 and of course the cry of a Scotsman " She canny take take much more of this Captain". Phaser fire wouldn't go amiss either. Davy
  2. Jan, I agree with Bert that this English sub-titled version is even better. Just wondering why the original exe file is so large at 135 mb. Davy
  3. Jan and Ken, Thanks for watching and the feedback. It was surprisingly difficult to get a good selection of images. Davy
  4. All, ‘Jesus’ a short AV lasting 2min 24seconds. 12 mb 1920 x 1200 Containing a mix of classical and modern art. http://www.mediafire.com/?ln5emdaj8d1nasw I have tried to construct this respectfully. It is not a challenge on your beliefs, or a soapbox opportunity. Download only, if you are not offended by Christian imagery. Davy
  5. Hi Jan, An interesting camera club challenge. A fair bit of work went into your version and it does show. Well executed, entertaining and most importantly confusing. Latin was always Greek to me. “Graecum est; non potest legi”. Here is a short Latin lesson in English, with Greek sub titles of course. Well done, Davy
  6. Peter, A cool AV that works really well. I liked the 'Swingout Sister' version of the song better. Have it somewhere. Davy
  7. Lin, Not forgetting the French. They have the best food, wine, women and of course the best PTE manual. I would nominate Canteau for his superb 3D work. Davy
  8. Holy crap, are these people having a laugh. I even noticed a magic mushroom in there. Too bad to be true. I have Proshow Producer.Just don't like it. PTE for me everytime. Re the first link. It came up all German.Lucky there was an English tab there. I thought you were having a laugh too. Davy
  9. Lin, My vote for a nominated AV to go along with other contributors would be Jan Frojdman's 'Do it in a Basket'. It worked so well in HD. Davy
  10. Lin, I should have known you had a good reason not to go 1080. I didn't know about the problem with animation. Haven't been much of a fan of Youtube for AVs when comparing the quality there to exe files. I wasn't meaning that you should not challenge the competition, but more to to with the acne faced air heads who will use x,y,z software instead and their responses. Lots of colourful language etc. Being from the old school,my marketing skills are limited. 'You can get much farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.' This is a very interesting project and I hope it gets the attention it deserves, both here and Youtube. Have fun. Davy
  11. Lin, Just my take, without PMs. Youtube is a whole different kettle of fish to shows on our ‘Sleepy Hollow’ Forum. Pitching a slideshow in a site predominantly video based, you are up against it. As a software,PTE is up with the best of them.Promotion of PTE as far as things go,is a pretty low key. I would be wary of making challenges to other software users. Might upset some peeps and unlike here, no PC moderators to jump in to the rescue. I’m not sure if video optimization tweaks still work for Youtube, but might be worth checking out. Video, I would go to 1080 as that will allow better video and audio bandwidth. Some of the PTE shows I hear, have the distinctive ‘scowl’ of low quality, low bit rate recording, and all to save a few mb of space. Back to the presentation and to me,it just didn’t work.I viewed them as a would be Youtube viewer and things were just too slow. No need to play each show in its entirety. The snow globe for instance took an age to develop. A show comprising your AV compilation edited down to around 3 mins might work better as a promo. As Suzanne Vega said,” Don’t give away the goods too soon”. AVs from others (if forthcoming)could focus on other aspects and styles. More scope to a wider audience. Davy
  12. Eric, Downloaded and watched. The 16:9 treatment worked well and It moved along at a good pace. The sound effects added to the show as well. I do like the steam engines and the old cars and bikes. Well done with this AV. Davy
  13. Eric, Now come on. Would I ever stir the pot. Well it's just that..... 'Recently the term "Eric" has become popular amongst British troops, originating from an episode of the British TV comedy Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, in which the name "Eric" was used instead of "Jerry" in an attempt to confuse some Germans who were fluent in English'. All this international adopt a foreign language thing has been thrust upon us, along with brotherly love and planet alignments. As a non PC type it is difficult to take it all in at once. I have to be very carefull,so I went down and asked a friend who owns a shop that sells toys and models. He convinced me to buy a scale replica model of a B17. Said it was the best thing to come out of Germany. I hope I did the right thing. Ordered up a boxset of 'Allo Allo' as well. You just never know if it will come in handy. I would hate to be labelled a non PC type. I love those Germans as much as anybody. Davy
  14. Eric, Not yet downloaded. Just wanting to check first if the voiceover is in English or German. Davy
  15. Lin, Your going to have those arachnaphobs freaking out. Some mood music. http://www.mediafire.com/?9e81yme4q9chq6w Cool cube. Colin, Using Gifs sounds like a plan. You have given me some ideas. Cheers. Davy
  16. Ken, Cool and creepy all at the same time. Could have some fun with this bad boy. Davy
  17. Eric, Goldie must be a fair old age now. I wouldn't begrudge her a bit nip/tuck. I think you had a set of possibly 3 videos from your Honeymoon. (or was I dreaming?) Kurt,Goldie and one of their sons got to meet you. Some people have all the luck Cheers, Davy
  18. Ken, I remember Arte Johnson from 'Laugh In'. Also Goldie Hawn Cheers, Davy
  19. Hi Lin, The high end animated Gifs.Hadn't even thought about using Gifs. As Ken said....Verry interesting. I am just experimenting at the minute,so I expect I will do a remake. Thanks for the tips. Davy
  20. All, 'At the Movies'. 1920 x 1080 .weighing in at 57mb and about 3min 10 seconds duration. http://www.mediafire.com/?785mb3h2344h2s1 A bit on the experimental side, with video and rudimentary animation. As the soundtrack is imbedded in the video I used Avidemux/Adobe Audition 3,to apply audio fades. It wasn’t really necessary, but just wanted to see if it would work. Davy.
  21. Lin, I had to watch it a couple of times. Some subtle effects going on. Nice work,as expected. Well done. Davy
  22. Geoff, Level 8 is a good ballpark figure. Re 'The Boss' I think thats a reference to 'Ned Kelly' aka 'Del Boy'. Davy.
  23. David, Have downloaded, but not yet played with DD7. The flat earthers will no doubt see DD7 as a form of taboo alchemy. Some good effects in your show and I can see it working in an intro/outro/transition in an AV. Keep up the good work. Davy
  24. Jan, Avidemux (freeware) in conjunction with a sound editor Audition, Audacity etc. Might let you do what you want without unnecessary re encoding of the video. http://www.homebrewedmusic.com/2009/06/11/audio-for-video-avidemux-and-wavosaur/ A short tutorial using Avidemux and another free audio editor Waveosaur. I just tried it, using Adobe Audition as the sound editor. Was able to apply fades etc,no problem. Didn't do anything critical so you might want to try it for yourself. Davy
  25. All, This is a short video. Nothing serious at all. It was a bonus feature on a DVD. http://www.mediafire.com/?76d10xyds7bs9z0 Davy
