Hi Ed Overstreet I agree with all you said about music and slideshow. In my proper case, I roughly have 3 ways of creating a slideshow : - in 1/5 cases, I have to compile a slideshow with very short time left. This is often the case for family purposes, after something done in common with friends or for work. In this case, all possibilities are open but I choose in most cases classic music as background with or without synchronisation. - in an other 1/5 cases, I want put together some photos but time is not a problem. In this case it's most of time the hazard, hearing a convenient piece of music (this can take one month or two !), wich makes me start creating the slideshow. - in 3/5 cases it's a piece of music wich gives me the inspiration and I try then to find photos matching this music in my personnal library. If I have no, I manage to make new one and here also, photos I'll take are largely inspired by music. Patrick Sorry for my approximativ english !

Hi Isabel A very pleasant trip with your little friend as whitness Your sympatic photos are very well accompanied by a very catchy (not sure it's a good translation for ; "entrainante") music ! Thanks very much for sharing ! ... and never forget to put your little friend in your pocket ! Patrick

Hi "loweskid" I was lucky enough to download your slideshow despite the very slow connection. You give us the opportunity to follow you in a strange (... as the music background !), uncommon and very beautiful world. How lucky you are ! Very great shots ! I am impressed by the technical situation you had to face (low temperatures, gloves, uncomfortable situation, winds ...) Thank you very much for sharing Patrick

A beautiful slideshow with very impressive and breathtaking shots. The music fit's very well the subject. Just a little remark ; I personnally find the transitions with the white or light green slides hard and I think a black one would be more resting (softer, cooler... sorry for my bad english). Thank you for sharing with us such beautiful photos. Patrick

I agree with Ken's comment but if you will have a look at this slideshow in spite of it's time limit, just change your system date (for example change year to 2003) and run it then without problem. Don't forget to change date to current one after viewing ! Patrick

Hello Michel As I told it to you on your website, I am under the charm of your slideshow. What a sensible and beautiful homage for our french mother's day ! Your pictures are all marvellous. Your skill in mastering macrophoto is absolutely impressive. Some photos are truely breathtaking. Thank you for sharing with us your mood in such a beautiful way. Patrick

Hello Dave, bis Just a curiosity. Your presentation end's with the last shot after 2 min and 30 sec, .... and your music background, after 8 minutes and 20 sec !!! That's why this very short show is 26 Mb big ! Regards Patrick

Hello Dave For me too all the transitions behave very smoothly and I didn't notice any flickering at all. I have a PII, 1GHZ with a GeForce MMX II video card. As you see, not a very recent machine What a good end slide ! Enya's music fits very well to the mood of your presentation. Patrick

You have just to create an exe file from your slideshow. When you are in the main screen of PTE, you do this by striking the F9 key of your keyboard or with the menu "File" and "Create slideshow" Launching this executable opens and runs your slideshow (except for a Mac) with no need of PTE software Patrick

Wouahhh !! Absolutely stuning scenery photos and a superb music ! Considering the PTE technique, I personally don't like mixture of multiple effects, but your slideshow is really great ! Thank you also for the explanations included. BRAVO ! Patrick France

I think it is very hard and hazardous to assign a given number of slides to a piece of music when not in synchronized mode. In my case, I always "paste" all my music pieces in only one file with a software as Audacity. If I don't want them placed end to end, I just insert a silence between them. Then I synchronize my slides to this unique music file, which is much more precise and sure then isolated music pieces. Hope this helped you (Sorry for my poor english) Patrick

Here my problem. - I created a slideshow with PTE (1024/768). - To create a SVCD, I made it in Windowed mode with 1280 width and 960 height - My slideshow has a few little pictures, with a small border (2 black pixel, 1 white pixel), encrusted in some 1024/768 slides, Once the SVCD runing on the TV, there is a very visible and boring flickering with the borders of these encrusted pictures. This problem is especially noticeable at the right bottom of my TV screen. Have you a solution to this phenomenon ? Patrick (sorry for my poor english)

If you want to activate synchronization by music you can not have, at the same time, music added to individual slides. You must check each slide and deactivate added sound if so. Patrick

You are very privileged ! I took much pleasure to follow you in your walk around Thank you very much, Spike. P.S. What music did you choose ? Patrick

Hi Alan I too enjoyed your photos. The "viril" background music fits very well the subject The "hard" end of your slideshow is as hard as the fisherman's life ! Thanks again for sharing with us your slides. Patrick

Hi Lumenlux, I too had no problem downloading your show from Cottage. You slideshow is very interesting. Although I didn't understand all that was said, I clearly understood the message you wanted to give us only with your photos. You find the explanation to this at the bottom of my post. (I had no problem with Al Robinson's PTE 101 tutorial because he spoked slowly). I too had a little trouble with the speed of the transitions and the numerous variety of effects is a litle bit disturbing. Concerning the number of photos, perhaps it is not necessary to reduce it if you use more small photos ; 1 or 2 small photos showed together in a normal slide as background). I find your pictures also a litle bit smooth. Perhaps enhencing the colors/contrast and sharpness makes more effect ? It's just my opinion and once more I found your slideshow very interesting. Thank you very much for sharing your work with the internet community and, sorry for my poor english. Patrick Strasbourg, France
