  1. Hi there Al, Ron - I don't have IranView or Swiff Player installed but will make a note of them for possible future use. Thank you. Lin - Yes, I have used my 'Browser' to run the tut and it still wouldn't open. Neither could I open the Starwars tuts. However, I have now downloaded DivX codec and they all run perfectly in Windows Media Player! Thank you for your efforts in trying to sort out my problem. And Thank You for such well presented informative tutorials. Best regards - Nettleton
  2. Hi Lin Have run Direct X Diagnostics and I have Direct X 9.0c installed. Have found that I can run other .AVI files that I have, just not your .avi tutorial. I have now downloaded the flash version of the tutorial, installed Flash Player 8, gone off line, unzipped the tutorial, clicked on Open, and got a WinZip Caution message saying my system isn't properly configured to view this file. I clicked OK to continue anyway and a WordPad window full of gobbledy-gook came up. Not sure how to configure my system. Have searched Google to see how to view .swf files but don't fully understand what I am seeing. I have come across companies offering s/w for sale for viewing .swf files but would prefer not to take that route. Do you know an easier way?? Could you please advise what I should try next??? Really appreciate your help. Many thanks - Nettleton
  3. Hi Lin I HAD used the second posting (wasn't successful with the original post download) to download the tutorial but still could only get sound, not picture, in Windows Media Player. Nettleton
  4. Hi Lin I've downloaded your tutorial and it will play in Windows Media Player with sound - but sorry to have to tell you I don't have a picture!! Best regards - Nettleton
  5. ok Igor - I'll unstall beta 6 and revert to 5. Sorry - I missed the fact that the beta 6 build was to check problems. The trouble is there is so much activity on the Forum, it's difficult to keep up! It's also addictive ....!! Regards - Nettleton
  6. Hi Igor Thank you for your response - The Memory Allocation Report appeared, in this instance, when I had closed the main programme of Pictures to Exe. I am using latest test pre beta 6. Hope this information is helpful. Regards - Nettleton
  7. I have just experienced the 'Allocation Leakage Memory Report' again - I had just closed down P2E V5, lastest beta, when it appeared. The numbers are different on this report though - see below. Is there anything I should be doing???? I look forward to comments.
  8. Hi Ken My OS is Windows XP, with service pack 2, and I am using the lastest beta of V 5 of P2E. Am trying to emulate the action I was taking when the error occurred but to be honest I can't remember exactly how it occurred. I have been exploring Google with the heading Allocation Leakage Memory Report but I am not sufficiently technically literate to understand what I am seeing there. I will keep trying to recreate the situation where the message came up and will post any further information I obtain. Thanks for your interest. Best regards - Nettleton
  9. Yesterday I began to get the following error message when using P2E - Could anyone please enlighten me as to it's meaning? Any help appreciated. Best regards - Nettleton
  10. Thank you SO much for this tutorial. I had reached the point where I was so frustrated at not being able to grasp the 'mechanics' of V5 that I had decided not to waste any more time and just continue using V 4.48. That's all changing now, and am looking forward to the next Tutorial. Many thanks. Nettleton
  11. Thank you Lin for your prompt response. I have actually been away visiting and using my sister's new machine, a Dell 5150 with 512 mb of memory and 160 Gb hard drive so wouldn't have expected there to be a memory problem. We checked the scratch disk allocation on the s/ware and everything seemed to be ok and had also minimised the Adobe software whilst trying to run the .exe file to do the screen shots. However my sister has now uninstalled the software as it is quite an old programme and she is going to purchase Photoshop Elements. We will then see if she encounters the same problem!! Many thanks - Nettleton
  12. I have made a slideshow and accidentally deleted all of my original photos. I have run the slide show and have captured a screen shot for each individual picture. I have then opened Adobe Home DeLuxe 4, New File, with dimensions of 1024 x 768 pixesl and pasted in the screen shot, and saved each picture to the appropriate file. This works well providing I run the slideshow, take the screen shot, AND THEN open Adobe and paste the picture. But if I have opened Adobe BEFORE running the .exe file and then try to RUN THE EXE file, I only get a blank screen, the computer including mouse, freezes and I have to close the computer down by pressing the close button for 5 seconds. Does anyone have any advice they can give on this problem please? The slide show was compiled in Version 4.48. Many thanks - Nettleton
  13. I'm sure there are lots of people out there, like me, who will value the information you give re Video Cards. Incidentally the second 'Puzzle' version runs excellently on my main computer, Dimension 5000 with ATI Radeon X300. Regards - Nettleton
  14. Thank you for your comments - I will definitely not be going with the Intel 900 now. It's good to have so many people willing to pass on advice/experience. Nettleton
  15. Ken - Thanks for the link containing information re Dell - found it interesting. Gilio - The machine being replaced is so old it's not worth upgrading but thanks for your suggestion anyway. Ron - My thanks for this info - My main computer does have an ATI RADEON x300 video card which is 128mb and runs V5 perfectly. Don't think I'll bother with the Dell with the Intel 900 card. Thanks to all for your help and suggestions. Nettleton
  16. Ken and Gilio Thanks for your quick responses. Ken - I've looked at this link and it gives the memory of the card as 128mb maximum for video. However, the machine I'm considering is a Dell, and on their specs for the video card it gives 64mb. I find this confusing so am contacting Dell for some clarification. As you can see Gilio, because I'm buying from Dell and it's an internet only sale, I can't try out a slide show in the shop. Thank you both - Nettleton
  17. I am considering buying a second computer that has the above Graphics Card but my concern is whether or not it will be powerful enough to run the completed V5 of P2E. Could anyone offer advice please? Any comments would be much appreciated. Nettleton
  18. Just picked this up - thank you very much. Will now download 'PET 101' Tutorial. The support provided on this forum is just the best!!
  19. Many thanks for this information - much appreciated.
  20. Actually I have never had any success in using two audio tracks. I particularly want to have background musis through the whole slideshow and then a voiceover for certain slides. How do you do this please??? I can't find a tutorial of any kind relating to this.
  21. EndItAll2 is apparently a big improvement on the original and is available for download here: http://www.docsdownloads.com/Tier1/enditall.htm
  22. Hi Ken I'd like to request that you post the revision - many thanks - Nettleton
  23. ..... can't wait for my broadband modem to arrive .........!!
  24. Super slideshow! Can we expect a tutorial to become available on exactly how to achieve this, when the 'end user 'version 5 is available? Hope so .....................
  25. Hi Love the slideshow demo! Also, very much appreciated your instructions for making slides with transparent backgrounds - just what I needed to know. Thank You.
