Lin,Yes for audio clips. Can't say about video clips yet. Xaver,Yes if you make an AVI file with our built-in video codec MPEG4-ASP. MPEG4-ASP is equals to XVID and DIVX. I just checked up this function and successfully created 2.7 GB AVI video file. Of course, it will be a free upgrade to version 7.5 for users of the old Standard edition. Excluding video output options which are part of Deluxe license. For the AVI output we did an exception to the rule, because AVI output always was a part of the Standard edition. So you additionally get for free fully reworked AVI video output with built-in video codecs. Creating a AVI video file is very simple now. I think about June-July for the first beta version. Not in this version, sorry.

We're working hard to prepare the new version - PicturesToExe Deluxe 7.5. When we finish the new timeline with audio editing we will publish the first beta version. Another new feature of the next version will be fully customizable toolbars on the main window of PicturesToExe. You can re-arrange buttons, hide unused ones, or add advanced buttons for the most used functions, move buttons between top and bottom toolbars. PicturesToExe Deluxe 7.5 will bring the following major improvements: 1. New timeline with audio editing (in progress) 2. New slide list (almost done) 3. New file tree (almost done) 4. Updated design of the main window (done) 5. Updated design of the Project options options window (done) 6. Updated design of the of the Slide options window (done) 7. New manager of transition effects with preview (done) 8. Editor of custom transition effects (done) 9. Customizable toolbars on the main window (in progress) 10. New AVI output window with same design as HD video output + built-in video codec (done) 11. Refreshed design of PicturesToExe (done) 12. New graphical engine for future improvements and effects (almost done) 13. New Settings of PicturesToExe window with all program options (done) 14. Improved playback of video clips and better support of video formats (done)

New user interface in Windows 8 - white, bright and flat. No shadows, no gradients, no reflections, no translucency, no Aero Glass UI: http://www.winsupersite.com/article/windows8/windows-8-release-preview-rip-aero-20032012-143133 http://blogs.msdn.com/b/b8/archive/2012/05/18/creating-the-windows-8-user-experience.aspx

Hello Isabel, Creating AVI file will be completely redesigned in the next version 7.5. This is already done in my internal alpha version. Now it really very simple.
-
I confirm the problem with this MP4 video file. The problem exists in current version of ffmpeg video decoder that we use for PicturesToExe. For the following version 7.5 we use the latest version of ffmpeg which plays correctly this MP4 video file. Regrettably we can't update version 7.0 because it was very significant change which may affect to playback of other kinds of video files.

Hello Jean-Claude, Thank you very much for this wonderful tool for AV enthusiasts! I highly recommend it. We plan rework the Objects and animation editor in version 8.0 (after 7.5) and I'll try implement at least some features and ideas of the OAK editor.

Tom, I forgot about this limitation, sorry. I'll prepare sample video file.

Tom, Thanks for good news. Indeed the created file is 1920x1536, not 2048x1536. But it better than 1920x1080 Can you please repeat same test in PicturesToExe? Choose output for iPad. And change "High quality" to "Custom". Then click the button "Show more option". Now set the resolution at 1920x1536. Create video file. Will it play on the new iPad?
-
Thanks for testing! Regrettably it seems that the new iPad 3 doesn't support H.264 video at 2048x1536. We will create video at 1920x1080. PicturesToExe can't create MPEG4 in MOV format.
-
Thanks for testing. Please try to import this video clip through iTunes and then play on the new iPad (HD).
-
Please try this video with a short slideshow I created in future PicturesToExe 7.5: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27544810/slideshows/ForiPad3.mp4 We added a new preset for iPad 3 with Retina display (2048x1536).

Thanks, but it's a standard behavior of the program in the timeline as well as in the slide list. Same in Windows Explorer. I'm not sure that we should change this.
-
Gary, Thanks for the confirmation! This v7.0.6 beta also has the following changes: * Fixed problem in video output (HD video, for YouTube/Facebook, for iPad and iPhone). Earlier created video file was empty (zero size) on some PCs. * Fixed problem with uploading to YouTube with some accounts.

Sorry, it's a temporal problem. This download contains an old expired digital certificate. Now we're obtaining the new certificate. This process took more time than I planned. The final version 7.0.6 will be published with the new digital certificate.

Hello Gary, Please try the updated version 7.0.6 Beta: http://www.wnsoft.com/files/test/picturestoexe-setup.exe Does it work as you expected?
-
We fixed this problem. I'll publish updated version 7.0.6 soon. Thanks for your help!
-
Gary, Thanks, I understood the problem! I think it can be solved easily in the nearest update 7.0.6. I planned this update for current month. The timeline will adjust scrollbar position to show selected slide visible on the screen.

Thanks, I reproduced this problem under Windows 7. However I think that this show is "heavy" for realtime playback. I checked several first slides - each slide contains 18..24 large images at 1920x1080! It is a serious challenge for the video card, memory and CPU. One 1920x1080 image takes 8.2 MB in system memory + same size for video memory + copy in system memory again for video card. 24 images x 8.2 MB x 2 = 384 MB for one slide. PicturesToExe keeps in memory 3 slides. So the program simply can't decode and load all images in time. I recommend optimize images. For example background images have soft blurred picture. I reduced it to 800x531 and then back to 1920x1275 and I almost don't see any difference, because the original image doesn't contain fine details. You can try reduce these images. And probably it possible divide animation to more slide that will greatly reduce video card loading. Under Windows 7 PicturesToExe shares a video card with a graphical user interface (Aero) which also uses DirectX 3D mode. Thus we have less available resources than under Windows XP. P.S. On our side, we will try optimize memory usage in PicturesToExe in future versions. Next version 7.5 is a first step in this direction.

Thanks for good remarks! I'll try improve it. You're right indeed. The final was the most difficult task in this AV.

Please can you post details. How you managed to solve this problem?

I think that I found the best compact camera - Canon Powershot S100. - This is the lightest (198 g.) and thinnest compact camera for professionals on the market. - It gives much sharper picture than other compact cameras. I was very impressed when I compared resulting picture with my existing compact camera Canon IXUS 100IS. - Built-in optical ND8 filter which can be turned on/off by a single click in the menu. - No visible chromatic aberrations. At all. Even Canon 550D with 18-55 has CA problem. - Large ring around lenses to adjust the optical zoom. Like on the DSLR. - RAW + JPEG mode. - HDR mode. - GPS tagging.

Thanks for your feedbacks! Paul, I wish you wonderful trip! Indeed the Lake District is only 25 x 25 miles area, but it much larger inside than it looks outside. For far trips I purchased the better compact camera now - Canon Powershot S100. I'll tell more in a separate topic in the "Equipment and Software" forum.

Journey to the Lake District (2:19) I visited the Lake District (England, Cumbria) in just before the international festival in Cirencester (England) in September of 2010. I spent 6 wonderful days in this amazing location together with my friends - Maureen and Robert Albright. They showed me the most beautiful places in the Lake District and I can say that we were lucky with the weather. I climbed the mountains several times with Robert and I got great pictures. I didn't expect that I can find such stunning beauty in England. Many thanks for Maureen Albright and Robert Albright for their hospitality! Please excuse quality of my camera, I used Canon IXUS 100IS (shame for me as the photographer!) because I can't carry heavy DSLR camera in mountains. Executable file (22 MB) 16:9 version: http://www.wnsoft.com/files/picturestoexe/slideshows/Journey-to-the-Lake-District.exe 4:3 version: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27544810/slideshows/Journey-to-the-Lake-District_4-3.zip YouTube version, 1080p: (But I recommend watch the executable file for the best quality)

Nice views, Eric! I love the Lake District which I visited in 2010.
