Help running PTE embedded actions via MS Vista?
Igor replied to rick4pte's topic in General Discussion
Thanks, I'm very glad! We already modified code of PicturesToExe in new beta 17 and now open dialog via browse button will make file name without path if this EXE file located in same folder where located main EXE file of current slide show. It seems that old code in previous betas couldn't correctly process absolute path and find EXE file in some cases. Anyway now since beta 17 such problem should not happen any more. -
We plan to improve global timeline. And you will able to add any tracks (at any place of timeline) with simple effects (fade in/out, cropping). New music player we added to v5.00 allows these effects. v5.10 or v5.20

Beta 17 available.

Ray, I fixed this bug in the future beta 17. It happened because AVI should not has size uneven width or height. 853 incorrect value. 854 correct value. We modified code and automatically correct width/height if it necessary.

Steve, I agree, but we leaved it for the next version. -
So you can successfully encode any project to DVD? Please let me know if problem will occur again with encoded DVD disc.
-
I hope we will release v5.00 in two-three weeks (when we fix current bugs).
-
Thank you, Ray! I reproduced this bug and we will try to fix it today.

Help running PTE embedded actions via MS Vista?
Igor replied to rick4pte's topic in General Discussion
Thanks, I just sent you reply via forum PM message. -
Ken, We can't set speed which not presented in combobox of speeds. Burning library doesn't allow it. Sorry.
-
Ken, VideoBuilder as any burning program asks DVD media for a list of possible speeds. If you can't choose some speed, it means that this particular DVD media, or DVD writer don't support this speed of burning.
-
Maybe problem in Nero Vision in this particular case? Although I successfully burned AVI with Nero Vision. But if you could create normal DVD from AVI in VideoBuilder it means that it works.
-
VideoBuilder detects maximal burn speed for current DVD writer and DVD media. For example 2,4X and 4X. But you can set 2,4X if you prefer burn disc on lower speed. Sorry if I didn't understand your question.
-
We plan to release v5.00 soon (in two weeks). If problems with AVI video output still exist, please reply me as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.

Thank you, I will know now about this moment with network drives. It's not your mistake, I didn't expect that this problem may occur, but probably some network drive may work slowely or chipset on motheboard or network drivers have some problem.
-
Den, For me it's always useful to learn which problems may occur on PCs of users of PicturesToExe, because not only you could have similar difficulty. Thank you for let me know. If it possible please tell in more details. Did you create EXE file with slide show on network drive and run it? Or you created project which used images from network drive and then pressed Preview button?

different menu problems - Application Error!
Igor replied to baldsparky's topic in General Discussion
Thank you! If you use 800x600 images which have 4:3 aspect ration it better to set 4:3 in Screen tab of Project options. And yes, on your display (16:10 = 1440x900) you will see black strips. -
Eric, I just sent you email.
-
Thanks! I'm glad. However it's a strange problem. This Network Attached Storage doesn't cache read operations. We wrote own memory manager for read requests and it speeded up reading EXIF information in JPEG files.

Please try PicturesToExe Deluxe v5.00 Beta 16: http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr-deluxe.zip (4 MB)

PicturesToExe Deluxe v5.00 Beta 16: http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr-deluxe.zip (4 MB) (It's a fully functional version 5.0 with all features included.) New features in v5.00 http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4327 What new in Beta 16 + Added global option "Allow modification of EXE file with slide show" (Main menu | View | Advanced). This option disabled (by default) and if EXE file with slide show damaged or infected, it will warn that slide show damaged and will not run. When this option enabled, you can use EXE packer/crypors to pack or additionally protect EXE file. * Fixed several bugs in slide show engine and in main program. Please post bug-reports in special topic: http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6455

Eric, Please try encode this slide show: "NoResizing" - http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/show/NoResizing.zip (1.5 MB) If result still bad, send me rendered MPEG2 file (it should be about 15 MB). I don't understand why it doesn't work, I just burned successfully AVI file in Nero Vision and all is OK. Try to burn your project in VideoBuilder (Video button in main window, then Create DVD disc).

Try uncheck option "Use hardware acceleration in Editor and Video" (Main menu | View | Advanced). Will it help?
