  1. Thanks, Granot, for the speedy response. I will try the utility on my laptop which runs Windows XP. On my desktop, however, which runs Windows 2000, the fonts are installed in c:\WINNT\Fonts, so the hardcoded installation directory might not always work.
  2. I have been using PTE and following this forum (mostly lurking) for several years and I have tried searching, but haven't come up with the answer. So, am I imaging this (is it wishful thinking) or do I recall that in a revision of PTE somewhere along the line the fonts used for comments actually get stored into the .EXE and are not required to be on a user's machine? Or do I still have to actually create little graphics in the font of my choice and place them on the individual slides as objects if I want to be assured that they will display in the font I have chosen. Thanks in advance for your answers.
  3. Another alternative, which I use is: http://www.focusinfo.com/products/tview_go.../tview_gold.htm I bought it several years ago and use it to display slideshows of all kinds directly from my laptop to the TV. Shop around on line and you can probably find one for less than $150.
  4. What a lovely show! Can't decide whether I liked the pictures or the music best. You have some very good shots in there. Thanks for sharing with us!
  5. As a matter of fact, you can use .KAR (karaoke music files), as well as midi files and some other types I don't recognize. But here's how you have to do it. On the main P2E screen, click the "Project Options" button. In the resulting dialog window, click on the "Music" tab. Check the "Play background music" button. Then click the "Add" button and use the file open window to navigate to your files. .KAR files are displayed and you can add one or more to your presentation. They do work. I have just tested it in 3.80 on a Win2K machine. Note that you apparently cannot add them as sound for an individual file by clicking on the folder button next to the sound option for an individual file in the main window. The only files it seems to find there are in fact .wav or mp3. I would guess for individual slides you would typically use short sounds or sound bites which are not likely to be karaoke or midi files. Hope this helps.
  6. I'm back, too! I lurk more than contribute, but I sure did miss checking in everyday. Each day I clicked on the old forum link, only to receive the same stupid and unhelpful message. I was just searching through my personal stash of gems of wisdom copied from the old forum looking for an email address to see if others were experiencing the same problem. Then I got the bright idea to go to the Wnsoft site and look for a new message. No message, but when I tried the forum link, I arrived here. Igor, perhaps a small notice on your site concerning the disappearance and reappearance of the forum at a new location would be a good idea. And a suggestion if we can't get the contents of the old forum back -- I would be happy to contribute any topics or portions that I have saved away into a section or topic threads in this forum to make available some of the valuable information we may have lost. Surely many others of you who have participated regularly have some of these gems stored away also.
