  1. As Igor suggested, Vimeo is OK & seems to have better reproduction than YT. It's a long time since I posted on V but I seem to remember there was a monthly size limit unless you had a paid account. I also have a Dropbox account but the free amount is full & they keep pestering me to pay for an upgrade. IMO these hosters are greedy, after all they wouldn't have a site if we didn't post shows on them. Considering the amount of revenue they must get from advertisers.

  2. Hi Gary

I don't post shows on Facebook or Audible Magic, so I've never suffered from what's happening to you. I do get loads of flags on YT as I use copyright music most of the time. I don't have a paid YT account, so mostly YT says I don't have to do anything, but my show may not be visible in certain countries. However, last month I got a YT message that one of my shows had been flagged & if I didn't remove it my channel would receive a black flag. The show was the one about buying the Go Pro Black & I smelled that GoPro had a hand in what YT had done, so I removed it as I didn't want my channel black flagged.

To get around what's happening with your shows on FB or AM, if you must post your shows in so many places, can you not just post a link to them on FB & AM?

Last week I got a YT Thumbs Up for my channel & was offered some vouchers to get money off various products, I declined.

    Georges,

The "Photo Flip" Transition works OK for me in all directions.

Try re-installing and if it still does not work , please get back to us so that Igor can comment.

    Hi DG

It was Photo Fold that wasn't working in Georges post above? I've never used them but I think they must be different.

    Hello igor,

Thank you for noticing my post.  I feel honoured that you have replied to me.

I did buy the upgrade (V11) some time ago but I am labouring under difficulties at the moment.  At age 84 my brain is not what it used to be, so I try to take simple steps.

Windows 11 or PTEAV11 - which step first?  I was hoping for some guidance from the forum but I don't think I ever got a reply to that one.

Anyway thank you for your great product and great support thank you igor.

    Hi Aplman

I'm a year behind you at 83. been using PTE since 2007. I use W11 in my PC.

I've slowed down in recent years but used to be prolific in producing shows. Nowadays I try to produce one a month just to keep my hand in.

Our main difference is, I always download the latest version of PTE or its upgrades as soon as they are announced. I have my PTE programme set to download the latest upgrades automatically & over-ride the last version. I don't use many of the new innovations, I've never used a custom style, PTE's standard styles suit my style. Most of my shows contain mostly video clips & I use most of PTE's video innovations as I couldn't afford an expensive video editor.

I use PTE's sound editing programme infrequently as I was brought up on Audacity & can't shake it off.

I think you said you have tried 11 but went back to 10. The way i do things I don't really notice any difference in the upgrades unless one comes along that I might try just to see if I can get it to work, if I can't I just carry on as before.

There are two icons (one at the bottom of the window, one at the bottom of the mini-screen) and the possibility to right-klick or double click. What are the differences?

You should read all the posts, see mine at the beginning.

  6. Hi Gary

I have more problems with my smart phone, similar to the GP. Came to SP late 2019 & never really caught up. I keep mine clear of clutter & just use it for calls & texts. Calls are a pain as I wear 2 hearing aids. Also get lots of electronic feedback on them as I also wear spectacles. You're fighting a losing battle with me I'm afraid.

PS Pinball Wizard is my theme song, almost.

    Greetings Rosy,

Yea, setting it up can be a bit of a chore at first. If I were closer, I'd put in the settings and all you'd have to do is press the button to start and stop the camera. Too bad because once it is set up, it is a piece of cake to take video. You don't have to get into a lot of the fancier things it can do. Best of luck...Gary

    Hi Gary

The camera has gone back. Took one piece of video 55secs & stretched it into a show. It's hidden on the forum in the new equipment section. You may not have seen it?

The link to YT is Gopro Gone Thanks for trying.

  8. Hi Gary

I went through about 15 guides on YT on the 11 before ordering, as well as the Volta. My eyes just couldn't see the fine detail text & I was making mistakes setting it up, then having to find how to correct them. I was a different person at 75, since then my heart failue has become more acute, so I decided to keep my Panasonic vlogger & grip. Another thing I'd miss with the GP is the Panny's zoom lens, it doesn't zoom much but it's there.

    Cheers Rosy.

  9. Hi Gary

I think the trim video is there because you could be selecting a number of clips from the same master clip. Adjust time range is more singular.

BTW the GoPro arrived today & after a couple of hours playing around with it, it's on its way back. It's just too much for my 83 year old brain fingers & eyes.

    Greetings Rosy,

I have had the experience of Facebook and YouTube flagging some of my shows due to copyright problems. The music was from a non-copyright source but someone had claimed it to make money off of it. Hard to fight. Even in the Ireland set of shows, all music is from non-copyright sources. However, several still have been flagged but allowed to be used. Kinda crazy. Some shows have been flagged so they has been restricted from playing certain countries or portions muted. I try to only use non-copyright music but they still get the attention of Facebook or Youtube. As I said, music is the most difficult part of making a show posting on Facebook or YouTube.

And many times, the name of the song that they claim is copyright protected is not the name of the song I used.

No, I don't use a gimbal. I have a GoPro 11. It really is amazing at keeping the shot steady. It has 'Hypersmooth' for stabilization. The 'Horizon Lock' provides the camera with the ability to keep the horizon level even when the camera rotates 360 degrees. Yea, some of the shows are a bit long. But they are made mainly for when I want to re-live the experience, even years later.:D

    Gary

Hi Gary I appreciate that you want to use as much of your show as possible. I'm a martyr to making long shows.

I think Tom bought a GoPro 11 last year.

I assume you know that if you haven't got a paid channel, copyright music will only be flagged. I've used copyright music in 90% of my shows on YT.

    Rosy.

Watched show No 2, did you use a gimbal or just a selfie stick for the video shots, thought the night videos were very good, must be an expensive camera? Same comments as before for the portrait stills & video. The music was supposed to be traditional according to the comments on the steps as you went upstairs, I could hear a flute & a fiddle but not a bodrum. Bit too long to keep my interest. Suppose it wa the Biden factor?

In my PTE early days I made a show about Newcastle upon Tyne & used clips of the Riverdance music. Riverdance

  12. Hi Gary

Just got up & watched the first show on food. Comments, you didn't mention "The Ulster Fry" which is the usual name for a full Irish breakfast. Not keen on the portrait (smart phone) shots, some companies like the BBC won't accept them, only landscape.

As this was the first show, I would have like to hear some traditional Iris music featuring the flute, fiddle & bodrum.

    Music

Looking forward to the remaining shows.

I did a 3 part show & left a couple of weeks between posting each one.

  13. Some of you already know we had to move home again as our landlady decided to sell our apartment. After spending over £3000 on improvements, we have to leave it all behind.

We found an apartment in Darwen Lancashire & moved in on the 21st April.

Our 28th wedding anniversary came around this week so I booked a table at Essence, a local eaterie.

The meal also turned into a history lesson that I thought warranted a show, so here it is - 28th Wedding Anniversary in Darwen "Spitfire Town"
