[Crashes and other problems with PTE V11 RC3 on Apple silicon]

I am not experiencing a crash when I do the test above. When I double click it opens the slide option window.

Sometimes (seldom) I have a problem where a PTE window is on another virtual desktop but I can fix this by moving to the desktop and closing the window.

[Update Windows Screensaver]

The Windows screensaver option could be removed and it would not bother me.

I right clicked and installed the screensaver and now I have to figure out how to remove it from the screensaver list (deleting the .scr from the original directory does not). I could not find it under the Windows or subdirectories.

The Mac version of PTE does not have a publish screensaver option.

[Update Windows Screensaver]

Not sure if many users create screensavers in PTE. I usually publish a slideshow as a video and use PotPlayer to play the video as a screensaver. I tried using the PTE screensaver option. It creates the .scr file and it shows up in the list of screensavers. When I click on settings it starts the screensaver instead of showing a message about no options. There is a preview button next to it so there is no need for a second preview option. Also not sure why there is an exit on mouse in PTE control option settings when screensaver already has this feature.

I have been using the PTE 11 native ARM Mac 11 betas for many weeks and do not have problems with crashing. I do not use an iphone but my Pixel 6A H.264 and H.265 videos are compatible with PTE on my Mac (and Windows).

Offer extended to January 25, 2023 in case anyone is interested. I am hoping they add a simple video editor import/export for color correction and compositing like they added to Pixelmator Pro.

Good to know there is a workaround. I did see your post from 2016 before posting and I probably should have replied to it instead of starting a new thread. It would be faster? if we just had an inner/outer option. Maybe not everyone would agree and that's fine.

Border always adds to the outside edge of object so not to cover any of the object. If you have an object that covers screen and you add a border then it is no longer equal around the edges or the object no longer covers the screen. If there was an inner border option then it would be equal around the edge of the screen.

I just thought it would be nice to have an option to loop a video if it is shorter than the slide duration with a single click. I think if you had the latest version Pixelmator Pro you would be impressed.

I guess that would work if I wanted to loop a slide. I was thinking more about video objects on a slide looping until the slide continues to the next slide after a set amount of time.

I'm not sure about how that would work. I was playing around with Pixelmator Pro graphics editor for Mac and they have a new video edit feature. I thought it was kind of neat.

If you have a menu slide with a small thumbnail video or any slide that is of longer duration than a video object on the slide then add option to loop video. Currently I believe it stops on the last frame of video.

[Two screens]

Hi John,

I have used Windows 10 and 11 with 3 monitors with Nvidia 1660 Super.  PTE can use 2 monitors. You can set the Preview screen separate from the PTE edit screen. I think it is a very nice feature. Currently only using one monitor due to table space. If your graphics card is powerful enough it should not be a problem.

I was hoping for a bitmap to vector converter feature but no such luck. I have other apps that can do this. The panorama auto stitching is pretty good in Affinity Photo app.  I currently only use Android devices but I will probably purchase the upgrade.  The Universal license is pretty liberal, use on as many devices as you own by any family members but only you can use it for commercial use.

[AMD AV1 Encode RX 7900 GPU cards]

The new RX 7000 series GPUs will support AV1 encode. I think this is the first GPU chiplet design with both 5 nm and 6 nm chips.  One chip has 20GB or more of fast DDR6 memory. Also support 8K monitors at 60 fps or higher. It will be interesting to see a performance comparison with the Nvidia RTX 4090. The power required (350W+) is probably 5 times as much as my Mac mini M1 computer.

I can remember years ago when PTE was relatively new and the GPUs back then only had 256 MB of memory. I hope when AV1 is more common then PTE will have an AV1 HW encode option. Most of the software encoders I have tried are slow.
