Lin Yes, I received your email, although it was related to a different situation, on this posting both, in fact all animations are smooth. I accept in the other situation I had mixed linear and smooth animations.

Hello Barry/Xaver Thanks for your response, I will certainly take your comments on board. Would someone please help me with another related problem. I have setup a number of keyframes, and elected to use the smooth setting, between the fourth and fifth keyframe I want the image to move to the right and at the same time reduce in size from a zoom setting of 45%/45% to 25%/25%. What seems to happen is that immediately after the fourth keyframe the image moves slightly to the left before then moving to the right. Hopefully the attached thumbnails below will illustrate the problem.

If you are going to use the pan and zoom features in PTE, is it always better to use the smooth setting rather than linear? If this is the case what is the optimum setting for the various keyframes, is it the default 20/80 or something different. If different, how does one fix the settings, is it all by trial and error or is the more calculated method.

Xaver/TheDom Yes I think that you are right, I did not separate the keypoints, just coming to terms with the process and I take the point about a Shadow effect, good idea.

Hello Dom Yes, we love Paris, we had a great weekend there last year. We know the city reasonably well, I worked for an Anglo-French company for 18 years and spent a lot of time in Paris. Thanks for your comments, I hadn't noticed the cursor. I am having problems using the smooth option, when I do it changes the setting of the objects, not sure what is coursing the trouble.

Dom It sounds that this maybe the problem, sorry for the false alarm, will try what TheDom suggests and give it another go.

Version 5.7 BETA9 I am experiencing problems with the 'Linearity' settings, I have the keypointd setup to pan and zoom an image. When I change from Linear to any of the other settings I loose the zoom effect, is this a bug?

Hi I seem to have lost the ability to use the Hawk Method to transfer a slide from one open PTE project into another open PTE project. Is this the case or have I forgotten how to do it correctly. As I say, I have two projects open and I am trying to copy and paste slides from one to the other. What I can do is go into Objects & Animations and copy the file structure and then paste that into another O&A window in another project.

PTE 5.7 BETA2 Is this right and if so would someone please explain the reason to me. I have noticed that the postion and size of the pixels in the parent change when you have a border. Why does the first numbers change, but not the second set of numbers. Please see attached thumbnail. Also I have noticed that if I setup a parent with a Native Size of 1280 by 720 and add a landscape image of 1024 px by 768 px, with a zoom of 90%. Then if I copy and paste the slide to create a new slide and then change the image to portrait it takes up the same size as the landscape image. The lower part of the portrait image is not shown. But if I import a new portrait image into the same parent and adjust the zoom to 90% the whole image is shown. Is this a bug in the system or am I doing something wrong.

Hi Lin I have been looking at producing a slideshow with a mood background, something that changes with each image shown. I have considered a couple of processes and they look at the overall profile of the image and determine a specific colour for the background. Would you have a look at the attached examples and give me some feedback on which you feel creates the better mood. Example A Example B
