Thanks I have tried that way and await a response from my friend. Not sure how effective it would be with a large file, it took quite a while to load up the 5mb file as it was.

Dave I am afraid that is not the answer. I can navigate to the folder in which there are the individual slides plus the template but when I click on that to attach it to my e-mail it becomes a PTE project file i.e. with the extension .pte Mike

Hi All This is odd. I have saved a project as a template and PTE says that it is saved as a .pt file. The complete string being shown at the bottom of the main window. I am trying to send that to a colleague but when I try to attach the template .pt file to my e-mail I cannot find it neither can windows search facility. What I do find though at the same address is the .pte file which of course my colleague cannot open. Any ideas what is going on?

I am trying to get a very soft ripple effect ( almost a shimmer) dissolve running from the top to the bottom. I have seen it done but just cannot remember how to achieve it. Any help always appreciated.

I have found that if you stich all three together, save that image and load into PTE, then use the pan facility in the animation window it works very well.

Thanks Guys I was begining to think I had missed something simple. Igor please take note of our wishes if at all possible in the new year.

I realise that there is a relationship between the time line and slide view windows e.g. click on a frame number in time line and the slide will be highlighted in slide view and vice versa. But is there any way to make the window position jump to the same point so that when you switch from one to the other you are in sync. It seems to me that the position in the window is set by where you were last in that particular window. This is not easy to explain but I hope I have made my wish clear.

Igor On the next up date can you consider synchronising the time line and slide view windows so that a position in one is mirrored in the other. I find it frustrating when switching between the two to have to search to find my original point. Thanks for super software Mike Reed

Hi Igor When you are looking at Beta 11 could you consider linking the position of the curser in the time line window with the same position in the slide view window. I find it frustrating when switching from one to the other to find that I have to search along the window to find the position I was at in the previous window. HI All I have three projects saved as projects which I wish to write to DVD. I have v5.5 with Video Builder. Whilst I have no problem writing one project to DVD when I try to add another to the original DVD disk I get a message telling me that the disk has material on it already. No problem there but I cannot get past that message window to add the additional projects. I have had a look in the 5.5 User Guide but cannot find the appropriate instructions. Can anybody help?

Hi All I take my shows on the W.I. circuit for Charity and need to replace my sound system. I am looking for something that can handle an audience of say 80 but is compact in one box with its own amplifier and will connect to my Lap top via the Headphone Socket. Hi LIn I eventually managed to download PZR for smarties. Got the sound but no picture so downloaded the freeware you suggested as well but still have the same problem as Fh1805> Not sure how I find the video to make it run in the Vlc software. Your file seems to want to open in Windows media player. Any Ideas? Mike

Hi Lin What a great idea. The only problem out here in the sticks is that my download speed is so slow (even though I pay for 8megs) that your videos take for ever to come through. Any chance they could be zipped? Mike

Igor I think I might have solved the problem. I discovered that the group of images in the fast section were all 4288 x 2848 pixels rather than my normal 1024 x 685. Having resized them it now appears flicker free. I ran the two demo sequences without any problem so I guess I was asking the computer just to do too much in the time available. What is your opinion or should I still download new drivers and Direct x? Mike

Igor I have posted a reply with more information. Where do I send the zipped file? Do you want it as an EXE file or as a template so you can see my dissolve timings? By the way I tried it out on 5.1 and it did the same thing. At themoment it requires a narration so is just pictures and music. Mike

Thanks everybody for your advice. I really don't think it can be the graphics card in the PC (DEll Precision T5400 with 3.5GB of Ram) with an Nvidia Dual Head Quadro NVS290 graphics card with 256Mb of memory. The viewing monitor is an Iiyama with a response time of 2ms maximum. The chip set is an Intel Xeon running at 2.5Ghz with XP service pack 2. Hardware acceleration is turned on. I tried the curser dragging exercise and there was no tail at all. Igor I will zip the file to which address shall I sent it?

Hi All Is anybody experiencing flicker on fast transitions with v5.5. I am using XP on a fast computer with maximum Ram. I have a section of a sequence with about 14 slides all with a quarter second dissolve and it is flicking. Any ideas as I have not experienced this with earlier versions. It does not do it when viewing from the time line only when I go to a full screen preview Mike

Ok for the benefit of others I've discovered that you cannot do it on the fly in the time line. Just go back to the slide view and drag the image in then, return to the time line.

I've hit a problem In trying to add a slide at a specific point on the time line PTE v 5.5 puts the new slide at the end of my show not where I have set the blue arrow on the time line. I have tried the new transition button which adds a transition but not the new slide I wish to add. Have also tried to add from the full file view screen but this does not seem to work either. Any ideas or am I missing something fundamental. Mike

Hi Bruno Check to see which edition of PTE you have. 5.1 did not show the transitions in the small viewing window you have to go to Preview at full screen to see them. The new version 5.5 shows them in real time. Sorry this is not in French. Mike
