Ron This is of interest to me. I have always run from a one page menu and up to the introduction of v5.1 have never experienced any problems. However now that one has to establish the buttons through the objects and animation window problems have arisen where on clicking a button, instead of running the show, it reverts to the desk top. Doesn't do it every time but often enough to make us look very non professional. It means I have had to start sitting alongside the projector so as to cover the lens so that the audience do not see me sorting through all the files to select the next to be shown. My lap top is a HP Pavillion 5094 which has never done this before. Mike

Thanks Lin Yes I have both unzipped Reg files> The one for video builder opens Ok but that for PTE is corrupted I think, as it does not seem to want to open.

Hi All Have just acquired a new computer and am having trouble in registering PTE. Have sent messages with e-mail address etc via the support facility but as yet still un- answered. I have PTE v5.1 de-lux and have found the unzipped PTE Reg file which I transferref from the old machine and whilst it says "Congratulations Registered", PTE is still in the unlicensed form. I am desperately trying to finish a show for Wednesday. All very frustrating any ideas? Mike

Yes Peter, however I discovered that the box in the Common tab where you search for the programme file did not always allow a search facility so I reloaded PTE 5.1 and that seems to have resolved that problem. I used to run the menu from the Preview button but having spoken to a colleague have tried turning the menu into an Exe file and it seems to work from there. It just means that I shall have to keep binning the exe files, as I make a new menu every time I do a show.

Hi All When I do a show I use a wallpaper image on which I superimpose buttons which are programmed to run the show from the file wherever it is stored. This has always worked well up to v5 Betas however now that I have v5.1 clicking on a button just returns me to my desktop. I have checked that the instructions in the common tab of the objects and animation window are correct. Does anybody have any idea why this is happening? Mike

My new camera offers resolutions of 4288x2848 down to 2144x1424. Up to now I have always saved my PTE images at 1024x768. I cannot get my head around which will be the best resolution to save at bearing in mind that my projector is XGA without loosing too much detail. I am trying to cover the possibilty of High Resolution wide screen television use in the future.

Hi All I am thinking of changing my computer and find that Windows Vista seems to be the only operating system on offer. Has anybody experienced working with vista. Do you know if it is backwards compatable with programmes designed for Windows XP i.e. Photoshop Cs and especially PTE.

Hi Geoff I had the same problem as my lap top also shows the volumn control in a little window. Most annoying so I went to Maplin and bought for I think about £3 a 'Uni Tone Extension lead with volumn control VC-1' This plugs into the mini jack headphone socket on the lap top and then the outlet, also mini jack on the volumn control, plugs into my amplification system. I now have full control of the sound level without any give away clue on the screen. Mike

I guess this has been asked before. I do all my construction by moving slide timings in the synchronisation window. Is there any way that scrolling through that window can be reflected by a similar movement of the slide list in the main window. I find it most frustrating to have to exit the Synch window in order to relate/ identify an image to the transition position in the synch window.

I am working on a previously saved sequence all images at 1024 x768. I have just brought in two new images from Photoshop also sized as 1024 x 768 however when viewing them on the time line in the sync window they are cropped at the top and bottom. I have gone back and checked the size and they are both 1024 x 768. When run at full screen view they are also cropped top and bottom. Any ideas as to why this should be happening?

Hi All This is really for the UK members. I need to renew my Jessops tripod screen which is taken on the WI circuit. Has anyone any views on what might be a good replacement size to be around 6 to 8 feet. Thanks mike reed

I am trying to rotate one image over another whist also adding a little zoom to the rotating image. I seem to have cracked how it is done using the key points to select parts of the rotate and the zoom but cannot ensure that each movement is of the same length so it looks a bit jerky. Any ideas how to overcome this.

Thanks Lin Yep I have visited their site. the problem is that somebody else set up my e-mail. I just pay Freedom to Surf but that is as far as it goes. I always use YAHOO. I have no idea what my password is with F2s. I have e-mailed them to ask. Till then it seems there is nowt I can do. I think Igor is going to have problems with his on line financial people if this one is not sorted fast. Mike

Hi Igor I have attempted to upgrade to the full version 5 as I wish to create DVD.s. However the company that you are using to handle the transaction REG NOW will not accept my e-mail address as they say it is a free or anonymous domain. Well I use Yahoo and have always done so and I suspect that many of your customers also use such providers. I reckon that you will loose out on a lot of business if this is not resolved. I found out that I do have an email address through my ISP but I never use it. I gave that address and they have accepted my payment. The problem is that I am unable to read e-mails on that address so cannot get the release code for the upgrade. What do you suggest I should do as I really need to create a DVD asap. I am using V5 beta 14. When I click on the video button I get a message see Main menu/view/advanced options. There no longer seems to be such a screen at least not under project options. I guess you mean Project Options/screen.

I am using V5 beta 14. When in Full File Panel view is there any way that an indicator can be put against the slides selected for the slide list. If it can be done this would save a lot of switching between screens.
