  1. Hi Barry My solution was two images one with the building illuminated and the other with it in darkness (both cut outs saved as PNG's) and suitable sky on a separate layer I then did a long dissolve between the two. I thought that the moving sun was a bit too cheesy.
  2. Thanks Lin and Barry. I seem to have cracked it so thanks for your advice much appreciated.
  3. I am trying to create a sunset behind a building. I have got the background sun moving as I require but cannot see how to change the brightness of the foreground building. I have tried to drop new images of the building suitably darkened into the time line of the animation but this does not work. Any ideas will be gratefully received.
  4. Thanks Lin I will give that a try.
  5. This is not a PTE problem but I am tearing my hair out with a problem with my Epson Stylus Photo R3000 printer. I am hopeful that one of my AV friends may be able to suggest a solution. My printer has a perfect nozzle check pattern yet all my prints have suddenly become excessively printed with a magenta cast. I have carried out numerous nozzle cleans to no effect. I thought it might be a profiling problem so have printed the same image using different profiles but they all come out the same. I have recently upgraded to Photoshop CC 2015 and also gone from OS X Mavericks to El Capitan on my I Mac 27. I have also reloaded / updated the driver for this printer again with no improvement. I use a continuous ink system that has performed perfectly for some years. Having felt that I have covered all the bases can anybody suggest where to go next.
  6. Thanks guys. Got there in the end.
  7. I am trying to format a rolling list of credits as per a film ending. Whilst I have lined them up in the typing window when the slide is shown they are all out of alignment. Is there any way to correct this? I have tried typing it in word then scanning the out put as a JPEG but that is not satisfactory. Ideas are welcomed.
  8. Thanks. Might have guessed!
  9. I know that regularly saving an image as a Jpeg eventually degrades the image. Does the same apply when saving as Mpeg 3 rather than Wav format.
  10. Thanks guys. I will have a play.
  11. I am sure this has been covered before now but a search of the forum has left me confused. I want to fix the position of a batch of slides as they fit with the particular piece of music. But when I add another slide this moves all the slides so I go out of sync with the music. I am sure I have seen mentioned a way of doing this.
  12. Is there any way that I can insert a previously made exe file into part of a new sequence I am making.
  13. Thanks Dave will give it some thought.
  14. Hi All I have posted a question re Match a slide comps on the general discussion page . Please go have a look and see if you can help.
  15. Hi All Is anybody aware of software suitable for running a match a slide competition between two or more clubs. In brief, for those unaware of such a comp. A limit of say 40 slides is set . Team A project a slide 15 secs is then allowed for Team B from their 40 to try and match it. The judge says whether it is a match 1 point and awards another point to the best picture. Towards the end of the 40 trying to persuade the judge that there is a match of some sort gets rather rowdy. It is a great fun event. We used to do it with slide projectors and light boxes for the 35mm slides (Remember them) now we want to go digital. Mike Reed Windlesham & Camberley C C
  16. I am using v8 and have inserted a short length of video. How can I adjust the volume level of the video on the audio track as the video is too loud in relation to the background music that envelopes it.
  17. It would be most helpful if there was a spell checker on a future upgrade.
  18. Igor When considering a further upgrade could you please include a spell checker?
  19. Now then gentlemen. Its age that scrambled my memory, thankfully not PTE yet that is, V8 gets close.
  20. I am trying to help a newcomer to AV and have suggested the forum . They have purchased PTE. I cannot for the life of me see how to join the forum and I joined so long ago I cannot remember. Somebody please advise.
  21. Thanks Guys I shall pass this on.
  22. A new worker in PTE has posed a question to me to which I do not know the answer. On their set up, the slide view along the bottom of their screen does not show the thumb nails of the slides only the data as to time of dissolve, dwell time and slide number, In addition when in time line view they do not see any wave form for their music tracks. In respect of music they needed to delete a track of music and whilst they deleted it in the programme options window it did not remove it from the soundtrack. Can anybody offer some solutions that I can pass onto this new and keen worker. The person knows that I am to raise this in the forum on their behalf as they do not feel confident enough yet to explain their problem to the forum.
  23. A tremendous piece of work Congratulations to all involved. I appreciate this work may never end but is it possible to download a PDF version. I much prefer to have a manual to work with rather than neck ache looking at a screen.
  24. When I am wanting to obtain exact registration of one slide over another I tend to use the slide view on the time line and drag one slide over another to check the registration. I then fiddle with the size and positioning of the slide. Is there any better and more accurate way of doing this without having to resort to Photoshop?
