Wonderful. I was stationed in Smuts Barracks in 1968 and did get the chance to see some of the main sights. I revisited Berlin in the 80's but never saw it like this. Andrew

During January we visited The town of Ypres [ pronounced Leper ] in Belgium which was the focal point of 5 different battles of WW1. Armed with my map and satnav we toured the sights of the salient and [ as is my custom ] visited as many of the cemetery and monument sights as possible. Today its a beautiful area, so clean and green. A far cry from 1915 when its very core was being torn assunder by artillery fire. I went to the Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate nightly and met the trumpeters, one of whom has missed only 1 Last Post in 20 years. I was touched by the number of young people there on school trips and visits. Tyne Cot cemetery where 3 Victoria Cross holders are resting. It's the largest British War Grave in existance with over 11,000 resting there....over 8,000 have no name on their stone! The Australian 5th Division Memorial in Polygon Wood and the New Zealand Division Memorial nr Passchandale and the Canadian Division Memorial, all impressive reminders of the losses. Essex Farm where John McCrae penned the poem ' In Flanders Fields ' We also paid a visit to the German Cemetery at Langemark, and to my dismay found it untended and in poor repair. Withered wreaths littered the area and the footpaths were in dire need of maintainance. Over 24,000 are resting there with 42,000 names on the roles there. Some of the graves contain as many as 11 persons. What touched me was that every time we turned a corner ...there was another Grave sight! Small patches of ground now hold as few as 10 men in them and are tended lovingly by those responsible for them. New graves are being added as the ground of the salient gives up her dead. The trenches of hill 62 [ the British Front Line ] provided proof of the conditions of horror the men of both sides lived in. If there is a stairway to hell, it's into a trench!! Whats a Zoom H4?

As a random set of images [ which are pretty good photographically ] and some offbeat ambient music - no clever animation, special effects, soothing tinkling piano music, voice over, picture postcard images, bare naked ladies, Google, start, middle and end, story, Video etc Its not bad at all. Andrew

Speaking as one who lives but 2 miles from Burns birthplace, there is a wealth of material you could have included in the piece. The effects were interesting but just not enough variation in the music or the screen image. Interesting work, just not enough variety. Andrew

I really enjoyed that Geoff. I've always loved Albatross. Very soothing and the photography was very good too. Andrew.

My former Regiment The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards held their homecoming parade in Glasgow on the 28th of November. It was a delight to see the lads and the colours on parade. There were a lot of old comrades there also, many of whom I served with. This is the Xmas version of the Paris show. This was the first time we have been to Paris at this time of year. I have to say its outstanding. The Stalls are all busy and the amount of food that is eaten is incredible. Jane and I went to Paris for a few days to sample the Xmas experience there. We werent disappointed. Paris is beautiful at any time, but Xmas is spectacular. The night lights there are astonishing. We visited the main tourist spots and included the Church of St Sulpice to see if the ' Rose Line ' was real. Regretablly it is not. However we did manage to locate the ' Brass Markers ' inlaid into the streets to indicate the meridian line, which the movie used as the rose line. The images in this presentation are my choice as the ones which best represent the city.I Thought about the postcard theme as soon as we got there and saw the number of postcard sellers on the ' Strip '. 7m:25secs 53meg 86 slides containing 130 images 2 audio tracks. I really love this type of show Mike. Olde Worlde stuff is great. I love your images. Great quality. The carousel and swingboat is very well done, but I dont know how well that will be thought of here. [ No bells and Whistles ] Overall I do like this and your choice and use of the soundtrack is superb. Andrew

I got an 8GB card with the kit and one battery. I think I will invest in a couple more cards and at least one more battery. I'm also going to look at the speedlight for the kit. Andrew
