  1. Hi Maureen, I was lucky with taking the photo's as the day we arrived, we had a big storm and in those areas in the mountains, storms come up very quickly and are over in about 15 minutes. You will see in a lot of the photo's, the storm clouds and I grabbed the opportunity as soon as the sun came out. That same storm travelled down to the coast and hit the city of Durban where I live with a vengeance and caused flooding and a lot of damage. I have today purchased a tripod (the question asked of you regarding the use of). The pictures of the flowers I took without a tripod, but battled when using the zoom lens. Yes it is a great place for kids of all ages. Thank you for commenting, it is appreciated. Regards, Colin
  2. Hi Andrew, Thank you for your comments and the loss of our dad. He loved the farm and we as a family first went on holiday there in 1977. We therefore thought it fitting that this should be his last resting place. Over the holidays, the farm is full of families and of course kids. The parents can feel safe to leave their kids to do what they please and there are so many activities for them. The pig is a big attraction. It is left to wander about the farm, though I made sure I did not go too close to it. Regards, Colin
  3. Hi Ken, Thanks for the comments. I will definately send them a DVD as I did mention to them I would be putting together a slideshow. There is nothing attached to the rear wheel. Next to the David Brown is a wooden fence and behind it is a slide for children. The tractor is a new addition, I suppose for the kids. I did climb onto the seat of the tractor. Colin
  4. Hi Maureen, Enjoyed your show once again. Your shots of the reflections in the water were stunning. This is a beautiful part of England and you portrayed this. I think your music was fine and added to the tranquility of your shots. Thank you for sharing. Colin
  5. These pictures were taken on my brand new Pentax digital camera last week on a short visit to the farm. We as a family have been visiting the farm for over 30 years and have got to know the owners very well. Our short visit this time was made with a purpose. Firstly my niece was out from the UK, and she wanted to see the owners again. She first visited the farm at 3 months and is now 29 years old. Secondly, we went to scatter my fathers ashes as he loved to spend time there. We found a piece of ground overlooking the beautiful valley and scattered his ashes and said our final goodbyes. 1024 x 768 47 slides 4.59 mins Colin http://www.mediafire.com/?yrym1mzmyzh
  6. Hi all, We were all saddened by the horrific earthquake that hit Haiti in January. Through magnificent and impacting pictures taken, the world was able to see how the people of Haiti have suffered and the damage caused. The show is in HD 1920 x 1080. 3.46mins long and 40.6mg There are a few graphic pictures. Please do enjoy and comments are welcome. Colin http://www.mediafire.com/?ujmmqzywny3
  7. Hi Maureen, Thank you for your assistance, very kind of you. Will reply re Greenland via email, hopefully this weekend. Regards, Colin
  8. Hi Eric, Thanks for your constructive comments, I do appreciate them. I do battle to try and obtain royalty free music for my shows. These two pieces I obtained from "a royalty free" website Incompetech.com. They are pieces of music by Kevin Mcleod, who I acknowledged. I will have a look at Barry Beckham's Enigma show. I will now go and download your Hairy Bikers show. We also watch it here in our country, so interested in the making of it. Regards, Colin
  9. Hi Mary, Thank you so much for your comments, much appreciated. You commented on the sizing of pictures for my 2009 news events show which was produced after this one, so in future, that is what I will concentrate on. Can you advise me what I must tick/untick to limit the size of the show? Regards, Colin
  10. Hi Andrew, Thank you for the comment. We saw so many tombs of royalty on our visit and I must admit, I just took photos' without jotting down names. I do remember the Black Prince and Thomas Becket, but as far as those shown in my presentation, I could not say. It truly is a magnificent cathedral, steeped in history and the few hours we spent there, I found very fascinating. Your comments are noted though and thank you for taking the effort. Regards, Colin
  11. Hi all, I took these pictures on a visit to Canterbury Cathedral in 2008. It truly is magnificent and one of the best cathedrals in the world. I compiled this some time ago and as I consider it to not be one of my best, have been reluctant to show. I battled to try and obtain suitable royalty free music for the show and settled for 2 pieces which I was not completely happy with. Anyway, here it is and comments would be welcome. 12. Hi Sari, Thank you so much for sharing photos' of your garden in the spring. You sure do have a lot of colour and what a contrast to winter. It looks like you have a fairly big garden and I see your black cat sure loves it too. I do hope that we will see more presentations from you and it is wonderful that we from all corners of the globe can obtain an insight to your wonderful surroundings in your home country. Thank you very much, Regards, Colin
  13. Hi Anthony, It is so nice when new members can receive some constructive criticism and take note of it. This, I think is the beauty of this forum. We can all learn from constructive criticism and from each other. In the short time I have been a member of this forum, I have learnt such a lot and hats off to everybody who participate in sharing their av's and to those who give sound and constructive advice. I think the senior members are so helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you to all. I am sure Sari will take note of any crit and can only improve. Once again, Sari, thank you for sharing the beautiful photos'. Best regards, Colin
  14. Hi Sari, It was nice watching your pictures of the snow and cold winter whilst we are sweltering in the heat here in my home city. Good use of animation, but found maybe a bit too much. The use of fade in and out could have been used in between your animations. Otherwise a very good show, thank you. Colin
  15. Hi Andrew, Excellent presentation. So nice to view the pictures full screen. Thank you for sharing, and well done. Colin
  16. Hi Bill, Thanks for info, will try that. Colin
  17. Rick, A stunning presentation. I know wild life are not the easiest to capture on film. We have so many game parks right on my door step and I must get out there and do some photography. One thing I would have liked is for the credits and game parks visited to have been on screen a little longer as I was not able to read everything before the show closed. Thank you for sharing with us, and thanks Bill for showing on Beechbrook.com. Regards, Colin
  18. Hi Davy, Very nice presentation. I am surprised at the quality of the pictures after all those years. Thank you, Colin
  19. Hi Ken, I whole heartedly agree with you. I am hoping to purchase a new digital camera and mosey along to our new World cup soccer stadium which has magnificent structures and lines and photograph it. You would have seen it in my A/V entitled "Durban - past to present". I hope to visit before the world cup starts in June. Regards, Colin
  20. Hi Dave, As an animal lover, you will give Trixie all the love and attention a pet deserves, as we did with our three during their lives. Appreciate their love that they give you and they will give back more. Thank you for commenting, Regards, Colin
  21. Hi Don, Thank you for your comments. It is a very hard decision, but as the poem says, the best for your loved pet. Regards, Colin
  22. Andrew, I know how you felt and respect you for saving the viewing for another time. 19 years sure was a life time and I am sure "Digger" gave you plenty of joy. Best regards, Colin
  23. Thank you for your kind comments. It certainly touched my heart producing it. Had some women at work in tears when I showed it. They give so much love and happiness. Colin
  24. Thanks Ken. We had mother, father and son. The puppies are the females 1 and only litter and we kept one. Colin
  25. Hi all, The other day I was cleaning out and found a poem entitled "If it should be'. It was written for those who have lost their pets by having to have them put to sleep. As an animal lover, we had 3 maltese poodles, all who have now passed on. The A/V is nothing spectacular, very simple, and please note that the photos' were taken out of an album and scanned onto my pc. I do hope that those of you who are animal lovers will watch this show and read the poem. It is a tribute to our 3 dearly loved pets. Colin http://www.mediafire.com/?mwj2m1czazh
