  1. This is a short A/V on some magnificent roses I took at an upmarket shopping centre in a village called Hillcrest. I did not know that there were so many variations and colours of roses. The rose garden is very well known and many people visit the centre to admire the display. 2. Hi Maureen, A truly magnificent presentation. Have added it to my "Maureen" collection. Well done. Cannot wait to get to England in September and start shooting with the camera. Colin
  3. Hi Dave, 1920x1080 16:9 Colin
  4. Hi Daniel, Very good presentation and the music was spot on. I enjoyed your effects and the portrait pictures were superb. Thank you for sharing. Colin
  5. Hi Dick, Thank you for your comment. I tried to show what the thousands of soccer fans here for the world cup would have the opportunity to see when visiting this beautiful country. They all have an opportunity to see the animals and scenery as all is within reach of a number of the stadiums and cities they are visiting. Colin
  6. Hi Bill, Thanks for your comments. Always think of you when posting a presentation and a real pleasure, glad you enjoyed. Colin
  7. Hi Bill, Thanks for your kind comments. It would be great if you and your family could one day make a trip out here, there is just so much to see and do. Colin
  8. Hi Daniel, thanks for your comments. Sorry about those annoying vuvuzela's, yes I agree that they are loud. You want to live here and hear them in the streets and wherever you drive. Anyway the atmosphere in the country is electric and truly wonderful and festive. Colin
  9. Hi Mick, Thank you for your comments. I am hoping wherever we go, it will not be too crowded. We do leave end of August and will be there most of September and I understand the school holidays should be over by then. It will be great for you to come over and the exchange rate will favour you. Let us know if you do.
  10. Mick, Very nice show and as Ken said, very scenic. The shootings as you mentioned in the end were truly sad for the people of Cumbria. We are hoping to see the beauty of the english countryside on our upcoming trip to the UK in August/September. Thanks for showing, Colin
  11. Thanks Ken and Rick for your comments. This country has many beauty spots for the ardent photographer and many game reserves for the wildlife phtographer. My late brother in law was a professional photographer and won many international awards for his wildlife photography. Colin
  12. As the FIFA World Cup is in full swing in my country, South Africa at the moment, I thought it would be appropriate to show the members some slides of the beauty of this country. The tourists out for the world cup are having a fantastic time, savouring the local food and soaking up the atmosphere at the games. I have spoken to a number of them and they are amazed at the beauty of the country and the hospitality of the South African people. I have included some of the famous and beautiful tourist areas of the country, so I hope you enjoy. I have diverted from the norm as far as the music is concerned. The african music is unique and so are the rhythms and words and I had to use songs with lyrics to give the presentation a real african feel. 13. John, Thank you for your kind comments. Can you imagine tryig to use a tripod when falling at great speed!! I take my hat off to the guys who video and take photos' whilst free falling. I hardly noticed the cameraman in front of me as I was trying to take in everything and the adrenalin was pumping. Colin
  14. Maureen, It is amazing that people of all ages have jumped. Last year, an 80 year old woman did a skydive at the same jump school. It was a birthday present from her family as she too has always wanted to know how it felt. She made headline news in the local papers and on national TV. Colin
  15. Bill, It was a pleasure. Glad you enjoyed the presentation. My next adventure is to go up in a hot air balloon and I aim to do this on our upcoming visit to England in August. Colin
  16. Ken, Thanks for the comment. This kind of sport certainly is not everybody's cup of tea. I received a lot of comments ranging from "you are completely mad" to "wish I had the guts to do that". I suppose if one does not try, you will not know what it is like and this is what drove me to do this. Colin
  17. On the 1st May, I fulfilled one of my dreams by being afforded the opportunity to do a tandem skydive. I have always wanted to experience the feeling of floating down to earth by parachute and this was it. Though the excitement was there, there was also the element of fear. Everything happens so fast. At 11,500ft, I was sitting at the door of the plane, looking down and then we were out the plane, free falling to earth. The drone parachute slowed us down and in front of me was the cameraman, filming the experience. At 6,000ft, the parachute was opened and we floated down to earth, the utter silence broken by the jump master chatting to me. The landing was very good and this great experience was all over in 10 minutes. The presentation consists of slides taken before the jump and of myself coming down in the parachute. I have also included excellent pictures obtained from the internet. Look out for the guy in the bright orange jump suit. You cannot miss me. 18. Maureen, An excellent show. The highlands are beautiful and I love Scotland, the home of my ancestors. Your son can be congratulated on his good eye for photography. Thank you for sharing. Colin
  19. Barry, An excellent show. Enjoyed the use of colour changes, especially the sunset/sunrise. Very good choice of music. Were the figures and faces carved out of wood? Colin
  20. Thanks for your comments to Gayland The Dom, John and James. Glad you enjoyed. It is amazing how we can still witness in this day and age the forces of nature of this beautiful planet. Thanks to Crossfade for advise on posting a mac version. It was very simple. Colin
  21. Hi Bill, So pleased you were able to view. I will post a mac version for you in future, no problem. Glad you enjoyed. Colin
  22. Hi Ken, This is what was sent to me as well. Felt sorry for the poor farm animals, must have been terrifying. Colin
  23. What amazes me is the amount of lightning that is generated. The farmers apparantly suffered with their livestock and had to get them to shelters. Colin
  24. Hi Bill, It will be a pleasure. I have never posted a mac version, so if any member can PM me and assist, it would be appreciated. Colin
  25. Thanks Andrew. I admire those who go up in the space shuttle and "do their stuff". Colin
