Hi Lin, Very nice indeed. What a magnificent view. Ran smoothly on my machine. Have 2 x Nvidia 8800GTX cards on a high end gaming machine. Hope you get the results you desire. Regards, Colin

Hi Barry, Thank you for your reply and clearing up your remark. I do believe the written word can be very deceiving and can so easily be taken within the wrong context. That beside, what you say is true. I however enjoy sitting for hours trying to think up something new to put together and showing the final product here on this forum. I know we do not enjoy reading negative remarks about our audio visuals, but I suppose we must learn to take the good with the bad and realize we have members from all corners of the globe, all with different ideas and perceptions as to how a show should be. This is how I view the situation and have certainly learnt a lot from members on this forum. It is so pleasing to see new members who have advanced tremendously and are now showing fairly good audio visuals, though not up to the experts standard. We can only learn from our mistakes and comments posted and advance from there. Best regards, Colin

Hi Jose, Thank you. I needed to get this matter off my chest. Colin

Hi to all, I would like to state my point of view, seeing this is my posting where I innocently posted an audio visual, nothing more!!! It is totally unfair for the experts with a critical eye to post damning remarks on members posts and thus spark a debate on that members posting. I refer to Barry who seems to have the art of upsetting members and who I see has not replied to his remark or explained the reasons for his rhetorical question. It was Barry who tore apart my first audio visual I posted on our Caribbean holiday. I appreciated the comments and have learnt from there, but things have not changed regarding real negative and nasty comments. The expert members I think must stop and think that there are a lot of members who are new to this and they do not need the type of remarks that certain members post. I am not going to go into the comments debate as this has been hammered out before. All I ask is that constructive criticsm be given in the spirit and context of this forums aims amd objectives. It has never bothered me about how many replies I receive and never will. Newer members need encouragement when posting their audio visuals, not nasty remarks. I consider myself a fairly new member and still a novice to this and let me say, I am at the point of now giving up posting anything on this forum as I do not need my posting to be hijacked by people who decide to target me and post such remarks on a public forum. I would respectively request that all debate on this matter on my posting be terminated and if anybody wants to carry on with the subject of the number of replies, open their own somewhere else. I would like to end off by once again thanking those members who did give the constructive criticsm which was asked for. Colin

Hi Jose, Thanks for your thoughts, makes a lot of sense. Colin

Hi Gayland, How right you are. I am the next target I suppose. I did read that mammoth posting and remarks. Obviously some people forget there is a PM on this forum and I will not get into a public spat which is not good for the image of this forum and non members. I do not appreciate rhetorical questions which leaves the reader in the air and the person to whom it is aimed. Enough said. Thanks for your kind comments. Regards, Colin

Hi Paul, Really enjoyed your show. A very nice collection of photographs, and as has been mentioned, the music was good. Pity about the ending with the music fading before the end and no end credits. One small thing that I noticed. I do feel that some of your shots could have been given more colour enhancement, especially the sky. Look forward to more from you. Thanks for sharing, Colin

Hi Barry, The number of replies has never worried me, so why the question all of a sudden? I do not ever remember making a remark about this. There have been some forum members who have questioned this recently, but certainly not me. I do not see why I should wonder why there are many replies. Obviously you have an answer, so please tell!!! I do presume you are referring to this particular posting. Colin

Hi Ken, Will try this, thank you. Colin

Hi Paul, I am having problems, not with the downloading, but when the download is complete, I am getting "unknown file type". Colin

Hi Ken, David P and Rick, Thank you for your constructive comments. I did ponder a lot regarding whether to use the subtle change or to change from the original and fade to the enhanced image. As I had 3 (in my view) fairly good enhanced pictures of the flower, I went for the subtle change. I enjoyed putting this together in that I had a lot of fun in Photoshop with filters and was amazed at the effects one can produce. Colin

Sorry guys, no ladies in this one. I decided to take a selection of pictures from my library and play around with them in Photoshop. I have used mainly filters, blur and curves to create the effects that I liked. Of course, I do realize that what looks good to me, may not appeal to others. Comments are welcome. http://www.mediafire.com/?zx7qsbg5psi5x08

Lin, Cannot wait for it. This will take PTE to a new and much higher level. Thanks for wetting our appetite. Colin

Davy, Enjoyed the show immensely. You obviously did a lot of work on each of the slides before putting the show together. Thanks for sharing. Colin
-
Quite agree with you on this point Barry. Thanks for the comment. Colin

Mick, As Ken said, it looked like a very colourful parade. The kids, it appeared were having great fun from the smiles and laughter on their faces. It appears you have a fairly large Chinese community in your area. Thanks for sharing this happy amd colorful moment. Colin

Hi Eric, Glad you took the trouble to download. Sorry it was not quite to your liking, I suppose cannot please everybody. I do know that Celine Dion is not everybody's favourite, but felt this piece of music was appropriate, especially as I am sure a lot of people saw the movie "Titanic" The opening title shot was from the movie. All I did was insert the title onto the bow of the ship. I do agree, the sea does not slope, but for effect, the movie makers do all sorts and the picture I think you are referring to, was from the movie. If I had tried to straighten it, the effect of the Titanic sinking would have looked odd. What happens in movies is not always what happens in real life. Very different to us picking up a camera and taking a shot of a ship or boat on the sea or horizon. This slide show was put together in one evening from google images I had in a folder on my computer. It was purely put together as a reminder of a dramatic piece of history, 99 years ago. Kind regards, Colin

Mark, Thanks for your kind remarks. I do agree, a change of music could have maybe come in for the underwater pictures. To be honest, I compiled the show, put in the ending titles, looked at the total length, looked at the length of the music and the two matched exactly, so went with that. Maybe a lazy way out. Colin

Thanks Ken for your comment. A truly sad and historic story indeed. Thank you for the information on the title song to the movie, which was magnificent. Colin

Thanks Mick for your comments. Borders? Could have worked with some slides, some maybe not.
-
Greg, That show was absolutely fantastic. The transitions were so smooth and very well thought out. I will definately be keeping this one. The use of borders definately added to the show. I would like anyone to challenge the use of borders in a show such as this one. Well done!!! Colin

Mark, That was brilliant. It is amazing what can be created through shape, form and colours. Liked your choice of music. Colin

This is another project which I started some time ago and decided to complete. It originally was going to be 1024 x 768 in size, but viewing it on my large screen, felt it was lost. I have therefore resized all the pictures to enable to show as 1920 x 1080. I must stress that some of the pictures are old and in black and white, so are not of a good quality, which is to be expected. It is amazing to think that in April it will be 99 years since this terrible tragedy and will never be forgotten. Hope you enjoy! ps: Eric, you may watch if you want as it is under 20mb. Hi Greg, Mick and Lin, Thank you for your comments. I am glad you enjoyed the show, though as Mick said, there could be room for improvement. Thanks Lin for the suggestion regarding the use of animated GIF'S. I have looked at a number of websites and there are some excellent GIF'S. I have saved these websites under my favorites so that I can go back to them and download what I require. Best regards, Colin

Ken and Davy, Thank you for your comments. I am glad I decided to carry on with this slide show and as I learn more and more about photoshop, I hope to include my creations in future slide shows. It was a lot of fun putting this together and this experimental show has spurned me to try and create something better. Colin
