Brian, The size of the file is correct, 346MB (see attached thumbnail). I have downloaded Any Video Converter and must admit have not had a chance to use it. As I said above, I am new to video, so this is all a learning curve for me. I do have a programme called Virtual Dub which can decompress the video into an AVI format, but when viewed, one can see a lot of the quality has been lost. I am able to use this in PTE. The last few presentations of mine with video, I used Virtual Dub to decompress the videos and had no problem. Am I correct in saying that PTE does not like MP4 video files and one must convert them to say WMV or AVI? I will convert this video to WMV and see what happens and let you know.

Dave, I am starting out on video now and purchased the camcorder 2 weeks ago. It is a Samsung full HD memory cam HMX-H300SP. The few videos I have taken have all been in HD. I am yet to take video in SD.

I have purchased a Samsung camcorder and produced a 3min 25sec video which was 348mb in size. I moved the video to the timeline and received the message that the video needed to be converted for a smoother play back. Within the video converter, I clicked on the optimizer button and waited until it was completed. When previewing the video, there was no sound for the first few seconds and then the sound started but was all out of synch. Could anyone please assist with this problem? Colin

A different take on Remembrance
colin hill replied to Howard Bagshaw's topic in Slideshows & AV Shows
Howard, An excellent show and very well narrated. The photographs were clear and sharp and very good. I hope we will see more from you in the future. Thank you for sharing. Colin -
Hi Lin, That was very good and very "cool", if you will excuse the pun. My exe version ran very smoothly, but the video version runs for a few seconds, then freezes and then same again. I have a powerful graphics card, so could be my broadband connection. Keep them coming as I am sure you are giving some members a good idea as to what can be done. Regards, Colin

Hi Tillman, A good production which I found to be varied and colourful. The only downside for me was that some of the shots may have been taken too close to the subject and I found it hard to distinguish the graffiti from the wall or object that it was painted on. This is just my personal opinion, other than that, all in all very good. I did like your graffiti shots at the beginning of the show. Look forward to more from you. Colin

To Ken, Tkimages, Lin and Morasoft, A big thank you for your comments on a subject which means a lot to me personally. Colin

Thank you Ken for reminding us that Remembrance Day is upon us. Last year I produced a presentation "Remembrance Day" and decided to produce another this year. Coming from a military background, I always pause on the 11th hour of the 11th day of November to remember those men and women who sacrificed their lives in the great wars for our freedom. Below is the link to the slide presentation: http://www.mediafire.com/?2mhuuvm7kn9gcn3 I have also included the link to my You Tube account for those members who feel that the file size is too big for download Colin

Hi, I have clicked onto your link and get the message "link appears to be broken", therefore cannot view your presentation. I do not know if it is me or if there is a problem with your link. Please advise. Colin

Lin and Tom, Thank you for your comments. This took me 3 weeks to complete, a lot being a learning curve for me as I had never worked with video before. Lin, flight simulator has come a long way from when I started in the early 90's. Today it is so realistic and real world pilots use it for training in their home environments. I have learnt a lot from flight simulator and 2 years ago, myself and 3 mates flew around the world in 80 days, flying to a strict plan every night, sometimes till 2am or 3am in the morning. We used VATSIM and were in contact with ATC from all parts of the world flying in our Boeing 747's. This, we think was a world 1st as others have flown around the world, but have taken some months to do it. Tom, I have used X-Plane, but still prefer the good old Microsoft Flight Simulator. Regards, Colin

Lin, That was excellent, thanks. Colin

Lin, Very good. I think would work well as an intro to a halloween presentation. Colin

A very good piece of work and I enjoyed it very much. well done. Colin

Lin, Thanks for sharing a presentation which reflects some very good artistic work. I have that intro music somewhere on my PC and was trying to search for it the other day, but cannot find it. Colin

Lin, Very good. I too enjoyed the fire which was very effective. The text at the end was very impressive. Is this available from a programme or created in photoshop? Colin

Bert, Thank you for your comments. I think it is great that these companies offer videos of your experience(at a price though) and you can then show friends and family. It would be great if you can do something similar for your friend, I am sure she will appreciate it. Colin

Ken and Lumenlux, Thank you for your replies and comments. I have never dabbled in video before and version 7 is giving me the opportunity to do this. We jumped from a height of 11,500ft and the chute opened if I remember correctly at about 7,000ft. Next time if I jump, I must remember to open up my arms as soon as the drone shute is opened. You will note the instructor tapping my head, trying to get me to open up my arms. This was an experience of a life time and I hope to do it again. Ken, I will upload to Mediafire this weekend. Colin

Some time ago, I uploaded a presentation on my tandem skydive. This presentation includes actual video taken of my jump. I have split the video into 3 sections and included photograghs taken of my jump. I hope you enjoy. http://www.mediafire.com/?h0rdwf5tkq9nqdm

Hi all, I have recently completed an audio visual for an international organization called VATSIM, which is virtual air traffic simulation. We connect on our flight simulators and with plugins, am able to see each other in our planes online and speak to air traffic control on air. This year is their 10th birthday celebration and to celebrate this, they organized a round the world trip. This started on the 24th September and I was asked to do an audio visual of the flights from 4 airports in Europe, down Africa to South Africa. This was my first attempt at using version 7 and inserting videos. There are 4 videos in total. The pictures were taken flying in my small cessna and the scenery is from my flight simulator. I have provided the link to You Tube and you can view it in HD. The reason for this is that the file is 178mb in size and too big for most forum members to download. I have posted this purely for anybody who may be interested in viewing it. Colin

Dave and Ron, Thank you very much for your assistance. I finally managed to get this right and have completed my project which has taken me 3 weeks to put together. I may one day decide to upload to the forum, though the size of the exe (179mb and 11mins in length) may be too large for most users of the forum to download. Colin
