  1. Maureen, Once again, what can I say. Beautiful photography and music and I loved the mix of colours. Skye looks a fascinating place to visit and this is shown through your photographic work Colin
  2. Eric, A very good show and striking photographs. The main stained glass window is magnificent. Drove past the cathedral when last in Liverpool, but unfortunately never got a chance to visit. The voice over was good with a clear tone of voice. All in all a very good effort, thanks for sharing. Colin
  3. Eric, Thanks for pointing out the spelling. I have changed it. Gosh, not having much luck with this one, am I. A few were my own pictures, but to make up the show, I had to search for more on Google. Mick, Thank you for your comments. The first slide was a little smaller, I did notice that, but thought that the transition to a bigger size was minimal, though noticeable. Colin
  4. Morasoft, Thank you for pointing that out.I cannot think why I uploaded one of my old presentations (maybe senior moment). I have replaced the link with that of "Only Time". This presentation was produced with version 7.0. "Abstract Animation" was produced with version 6.5, hence the Trojan warning. My apologies for that. You should not have a problem downloading the correct file. Colin
  5. Hi all, Inspired by a piece of music from one of my favourite female singers, Enja, I put this presentation together from pictures that I found in one of my folders. Colin http://www.mediafire.com/?w1m7d0jn9i4hz42 (This is the correct file)
  6. Hi all, Just to let you know I purchased a Panasonic digital voice recorder, nothing too fancy (what suited my pocket)and will start experimenting and see how things develop from there. Colin
  7. Hi Mick, A valiant first attempt and well done. The photography was good and regarding voice and music, I think all has been said by members above. I am still to try what you have just achieved and am sure with more practice and experience, you will produce a masterpiece. Regards, Colin
  8. Hi Jeff, Thank you for your input. No, card has not yet been swiped. I hope to try again next year by entering an entry in your salon competition. I did note that at least 90% of the winning entries all had commentary, so need to get going as I think that is the way to go for competition work. Regards, Colin
  9. Bernard, That was fantastic, I would love to have been there to witness the show. Your pictures of the aircraft were very sharp and clear Loved the music to go with it. Thanks for sharing, Colin
  10. Hi all, Thank you for all your advise as to the methods and equipment to use to maybe get the best quality voice recording. I will spend this weekend shopping around to see what I can find that both suits my pocket and needs. I have many ideas for voice over and cannot wait to get into producing the shows that I have in mind. Howard, Thank you for your input, it is appreciated. It was your "Ride to the Wall" with your crisp clear voice that inspired me to get into this, so lets hope I can produce something that matches your excellent show. To all that have contributed and assisted me, heartful thanks. Colin
  11. Hi Lin, Thanks for your reply. Have sent you details via email. Colin
  12. Hi Eric. Thanks a ton for posting your thread which was discussed at about the time I joined the forum. I found the You Tube video very interesting and gave me some insight to the workings of a digital recorder. I need to shop around to see what is available here in my country at the moment. If I am to obtain a decent recorder, I will have to pay at least in my currency R2,000 (two thousand rands). My main aim at the moment is to purchase a recorder that will do the job for me, so will make some enquiries and see what I can obtain. Your input is appreciated. Colin
  13. I tried the music option with unsatisfactory results. Fade out started about 1 minute before end of show when I asked it to fade out from 12secs before end of show. Went back to using audacity Colin
  14. Hi Eric, I do use audacity, so will have a look, thanks Colin This will be very useful. I use audacity for all my music, but just the basics (fade in, fade out etc). Will save and have a good read. Thanks once again.
  15. Thank you Peter, I think that is the way to go. I have been on the internet checking out some websites for digital sound recording devices. The prices are not too bad, depending on what model you are looking for. Will advise on how I go. Colin
  16. Hi all, Thank you for your responses. The mic that I have at my disposal at present is a USB headset with mic. Mick, I tried the sound recording from within PTE and found that my voice was drowned out by the music, so will have to sort this problem out. I agree with Barry regarding have to tick a box to enable voice over a number of slides. I think very seldom would voice over be used for 1 slide only. Xaver, Thank you for your suggestions. You mention one can record direct into audacity. I will also need to work this out as well. Barry, See my comments to Mick above. Peter, Thank you for valuable input as well. I think the way to go would be as you suggested. If you do not mind, I will contact you off forum. I am completely new to all this sound recording and voice overs and have been wanting to use it for some time now. I have been trying various methods with the equipment I have at present and all was not to my satisfaction. I do appreciate any valuable input and suggestions and will work on it till I obtain quality recordings. Colin
  17. Hi Mick, thanks very much, will try that and let you know of the outcome. Colin
  18. Hi all, I would appreciate it if someone could suggest the best way of recording commentary which is to be included in a slideshow. There is the recording facility in version 7, but from what I can see, this is for a single slide. The recent excellent slideshow, "Ride to the Wall" is a perfect example as to what I would want to achieve. Colin
  19. Ken, I whole heartedly agree with you. I have never dealt with video in my life and Igor has gone to great lengths to introduce this into his wonderful product. It is there for us to use and I am not shy to try it out and share with members on this forum. I am not a pro at this business and all my presentations have never been up there with the best. I however produce them because it gives me pleasure and each time, I am learning something new. My video inserts have not been of the best quality and Barry touched on this subject in an earlier thread on here. I think one must work with what they have and can obtain and I see this as a learning curve. I have seen what can be produced through the likes of Lin, Morasoft etc and watching their creations inspires me to try new things. I must also thank DG for his tremendous efforts to explain how to tackle video and I am most grateful. Isn't this what this forum is all about?....learning from each other. I do not belong to any clubs and what I produce is for friends and family to view and for forum members. I will continue to dabble with video and try my best to make shows that will hopefully be to the satisfaction of some of the forum's greatest critics. Colin
  20. Hi Lin, Sat watching with bated breath and then BOOM, the heavens exploded. That was magnificent. I loved the rocks flying through the air. I am amazed at what can be done and achieved with PTE. Thank you, Colin
  21. Lin, Ran smoothly on my pc, nicely done. How about a big explosion towards the end? Colin
  22. Thanks Dave, I will upload edited file to Mediafire and send link to Igor explaining my situation
  23. Dave and Brian, I edited the video file starting from the beginning to 29sec into the video. The size of the file was 11,4MB. I then inserted this into the timeline and previewed it and it ran smoothly and the sound was in synch. Could it then be the size of the file that is the problem? Colin
  24. Happy birthday, have a good day

  25. Dave, I will edit the file and send to Igor, thanks. If I use the HD file in PTE, it is jerky and the sound is all out of synch. Colin
