  1. I had a change to play the EXE and MP4 files on a newer laptop. The EXE file plays not as well and is of less quality than the MP4 file. I hope Igor is working on a solution. Bert
  2. Hi Morasoft, I knew I could modify the background image in a photo editing program, but I thought it was maybe possible in to do it in PTE, like I could do in the BW show. I will play with it. Thanks, Bert
  3. Hi Moisés I changed the image in Hysteria1 for the show and that is now the constant background image, what I wanted. I don't find a way to change the opacity of this background image in the Hysteria PTE file. Can you tell me where to find that? Thanks, Bert_
  4. Hi Moisés Thanks for your B&W template, I made the show with 5 pictures and also turned the opacity in the background to around 21%. I think that with all the movement of the frames, a changing background is still to busy and most of the times the background is not visible anyhow. I like to see one not changing picture in the background, related to the show, and easy adjustable for opacity. Can you tell me, in Hysteria(1), with a constant background, which is the picture to change the background, or does the background has to change in all pic01 to pic25? Here is the 5 picture BW background show. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12297675/BW%20show.exe Thanks for your help. Bert
  5. Hi Morasoft, I liked the Hysteria template and made a little show with it. I tried also your Hysteria2 for this same show, I prefer the template Hysteria2, but for this show,I found the background became to distracting with only 45% opacity, and I do not know how I could make the opacity less. It would also be nice if the background could be the picture at low opacity and black & white. Here is a show made with Hysteria(1). https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12297675/Rodeo%202013.zip Thanks for sharing these great templates.
  6. Hi Don, I liked your show very much, the great images with the reading of the poem and the ticking clock, made for a thoughtful AV show. Thanks for showing.
  7. Hi lin, Your method worked, smooth video in the new EXE. I hope Igor is going to find a solution for this, and for playing AVCHD video smooth in the converter also. Outside all the time it cost, the files become very big. The original PTE file included 3 minutes of converted video is 225KB. The EXE file from this (with not good playing video) is 846KB. The MP4 made from the PTE file is 1624KB and the EXE made from the converted MP4 is 1691KB. I have to play this show at my camera club on an older laptop (not in my possession) and projector, I wonder what will play better, the 1624KB MP4 with the Classic Home Media Player, or the 1691KB EXE. Thanks for your help, Bert
  8. Hi Lin, I see what I did wrong, I put the MP4 file direct in the slide list and made an EXE. I see that you convert the MP4 first, do you use the "normal settings" (quality 50%)for converting the MP4? Is there any degradation? Regards, Bert
  9. Hi Lin, I did the following, Started a new project, made screen to 16:9, and went to the place where my MP4 was stored (former project), and put the MP4 in the new project slide list. Then I clicked on publish show for PC. The result does not work well. I did not even came to the videos because the images change without dissolves, sometimes there are 2 images over each other etc.. The EXE is now the same size as the MP4 and twice the size of the original EXE. Can you tell me how you do it? Thanks, Bert
  10. I have converted and trimmed two of my AVCHD videos in the PTE converter, I have made a slide show of 14 min. with one video of 1 min. and one video of 2 min. The videos play fine in the PTE file. I have made an EXE and a MP4 file from the PTE file. The strange thing is that in the MP4 file, when played with Media player Classic Home, the videos play fine and smooth. When I play the EXE file of the show, the videos play not smooth but with some hesitation. Is there a difference in computer use, when videos are played in the PTE file or in the EXE file? What could be the difference that the same videos play O.K. in PTE but not smooth when made to an EXE file. My computer has 8mb of ram, and the graphics card is "(on board) AMD Radeon 6530D, 512mb. Bert
  11. Hi Terry, I just watched your show, and you show a lot of wizardry in your presentation. For me that did not work, your pictures are to good to just fly by, and the emphasis became more on the movement of your images than the images itself. I would have liked to see the images longer on the screen, but different from Ken, I don't like to stop a show, as that takes out flow of a show I think. Regards, Bert
  12. Hi Morasoft, I just downloaded and played with my own pictures, your amazing template. It must have been a lot of work to make this template, thanks for sharing this with us. Regards, Bert
  13. Nice little show Lin, the picture was so clear and sharp, was that taken with your Sigma Merrill? Thanks, Bert
  14. When I had a color cast on my pictures in PTE last October, and asked about it on the forum. Somebody gave me this advice on the forum. It seems the colours are inverted, i.e. the orange colours of rust are turned blue, and the blue writing on the back wall has turned orange. These colours are spectral opposites, so I think your problem is the colour space the images are in. You need to load the images into Photoshop or similar and ensure that the colour space is sRGB, which PTE is set up for. If you are shooting for slide shows you should be taking the shots in sRGB, not AdobeRGB
  15. Hi Dave, I have all my images sized to 1920 x 1080 and I want the videos in the show to have the same 16:9 aspect ratio. Thanks for the info about the MPEG4, I did not know that only the video portion that is shown on the screen will be part of the output MPEG4. I still would like to know the reason that my Sony AVCHD file format does not play well in PTE, (is it my computer or PTE?). Are there other persons who's videos are in this AVCHD format. I know Igor has a Sony camera. Bert
  16. Hi yachtsman1, I checked my camera and I can record in MP4 format. Unfortunately the size will only be 1440 x 1080, not good enough for it to be shown on a HD TV. Bert
  17. Dave, I had done it the way you described, and shortened the converted file in the 0 and A properties. I am going to make an MPEG4 as my output, but I don't understand why it would not matter in output file size. Of the 2m.59s video, I am using 2m.10s. I edited the converted file and did a second conversion. Instead of the 661MB of the first converted video, the second one is 495MB. Why would it not matter when making an MPEG4 as output? Bert
  18. I like to thank everybody for there replies to my video question. Yachtsman1, I had downloaded your very good tutorials already, but I need to make the conversion, because the non-converted file does play very jerky in PTE. Dave it is possible that its my video card, but outside PTE, the non-converted video plays fine on my computer when I use “Media Classic Home Cinema”. Maybe it is as Xaver mentioned that PTE doesn't like AVCHD. The problem with that is, because it does not play good in the converter screen, I can not precise edit before I have the file converted. So I have to convert the file first, and than edit this converted file. Than it has to be converted again to get the edited file.(A waste of time). Peter, I will take your advise and not worry about the size of the video files. Regards, Bert
  19. I like to start putting videos into my slide shows, but something doesn’t work right. My video is made with a Sony NEX7 camera. PTE 7.5.8 gives me the following info for this video: Size; [b]351MB, Container; mpegts, Codec; H.266, Duration 2m 59s, Frame size 1920x1080, Video type; Interlaced. This file plays very jerky in the mini-player, and also very bad in the player for the converter. (So bad it is hard to see where to trim). When I do a conversion of this file, I end up with the following info for the converted video: Size; 661MB, Container; AVI, Codec; mpeg4, Duration 2m 59s, Frame size 1920x1080, Video type; Interlaced. This file plays normal in the mini-player. When I check the info for the non-converted and converted videos in windows explorer, the non-converted has as: Type of file; m2ts and a frame rate of 29 frames/sec. The converted has as: Type of file; AVI and a frame rate of 59 frames/sec. Outside of PTE, both video files play fine in “Media Classic Home Cinema” My computer has 8mb of ram, and the graphics card is AMD Radeon 6530D, 512mb. The question is why get my converted video almost doubled in size. I still have to use this file in my show because the non-converted video plays jerky. Any suggestions? Bert
  20. Dave, Thanks for your comment. Bert
  21. Barry, Yachtman1 and Morturn, Thank you for your comments, Barry the accordion and the drop cloth where brought in by us to dress up the stage a little bit. Morturn, I looked at your website for the Victorian Pump Station, very well done. There is a same kind of web side for the Opera House: http://www.saveoursterling.org/History.html As you said if enough people become aware of these buildings and there heritage, there will be pressure to save them
  22. Some weeks ago I had the possibility to spend a few hours photographing this Historic Opera House in Connecticut USA. The name Opera House was common in the late 1800, even as the building was mainly used for vaudeville and theater performances. The building was declared a historic site in 1968 and the inside is still waiting to be restored. All the inside pictures were made in HDR, and some pictures were combined to make panoramas. Thanks to Bill Hines, you can watch it here: http://www.beechbrook.com/pte/downloadfile.asp?id=2382
  23. Lin, I send you a translation of the Dutch review.

  24. hi Lin, You explained your method very well, and made it all look very realistic. Regards, Bert
