  1. When creating an AVI using "Custom video and audio codecs", then on my German system (Win 8.1) the small window for customizing the video compressing always shows in German, independent of the language settings of my PTE main program. In the attached image: Main program is set to English, the small window is shown in German. jt
  2. File size refers to the size of images. Size of Exe file does not seem to exist any longer. Regards, jt PS: You have edited your post while I was writing
  3. Thanks, Lin. I am going to ask Jean-Cyprien about it. Regards, jt
  4. Do you know the link? Regards, jt
  5. Just a remark: You can avoid the missing Umlaut in "Froehliche Weinachten" (which should read "Fröhliche Weihnachten") by saying "Frohe Weihnachten", while inserting the missing letter "h" (in Weihnachten) Regards, jt
  6. Question: What do people who buy PTE for their company with a tax ID number? They typically do not need to pay VAT. Regards, jt
  7. Thanks, it is very interesting to see that. You must be person with infinite patience. Best regards, jt
  8. I think that it does. If my observation will hold in the end (the soundtrack is unified, and it will either run completely synchronized, or completely un-synchonized) then you will have trouble. In the start section you want to run the sequence in an un-synchronized mode, while in the end section you want to have a synchronized start of a slide and a corresponding audio clip. I fear that this will not work. You seem to have a similar problem as the one that has been addressed here, and you could use the workaround that I have proposed in this topic (post #10), using 2 concatenated shows. jt
  9. Look at my post above. Some competitors work that way. jt
  10. Simple resizing, of course, cannot be the solution. If PTE would offer some kind of resizing it had to be more intelligent. A possible solution could be as follows: The user introduces (perhaps large) images to some PTE project. PTE would never use these images directly but would always work with copies (more or less calculated automatically). First, these copies could be made according to the present monitor with respect to zoom parameters, monitor size and color profile. In case when the user changes some zoom parameters, or changes the monitor, part of the copies had to be recalculated. In case when the user wants to generate an Exe version of the show he might enter screen parameters and color information about the system where the show is going to be presented, and PTE would (automatically) produce the corresponding image data (based on the originals). jt
  11. A major difference between v7 and v8: In the old version we have a soundtrack, and additional sound comments. The soundtrack can run synchronized or not, while comments always run synchronized, and they start with a particular slide. In the new version we have just one common soundtrack that either plays synchronous or not. Linking is just a process to define the position of an audio clip relative to the start of a particular slide, but the clip is a normal part of the soundtrack. So the audio system is different now. jt
  12. What about a tutorial or a demo project about "realistic" rotating planets jt
  13. Did you try to run the your show as a Safe Executable? jt
  14. Keep in mind that hiberfil.sys may become very large in your case! On most machines today, OS and software are placed on an SSD. Regards, jt
  15. One may ask the question why didn't you (a very experienced user) find this feature in Beta9? One reason may be that it is by no means obvious to make a double-click on the audio clip's name or to look for the context menu. Here we see another feature that is not that easy to find. In another topic of this forum section people have a discussion on user friendliness ..... jt
  16. In my opinion, JEB's suggestions are fine. But PTE could offer another optional service: When creating a zip-backup, it could suggest the user to insert the images with identical names in renamed versions (with some obvious renaming), while changing the project file appropriately. jt
  17. In Audacity it does. During play, the maximum is indicated. If clipping occurs, red color shows up. jt
  18. I would regard this to be very useful! At present time we do not see if the overall soundtrack has some clipping. The proposed meter should show this. jt
  19. Some versions 1.3.x do, versions 1.4 and later do not. jt
  20. Dieser Kommentar wurde anscheinend nicht benötigt jt
  21. In v8 there will be the option to let PTE mix and render the soundtrack, convert it to MP3, and to insert this audio file into an executable for the PC. In my opinion it would be fine to have the feature of exporting the overall soundtrack to WAV and/or MP3, as well. Why is this feature useful? Here is an example: If you create a soundtrack with music, additional sounds, and voice-over, you always have to be aware of clipping. Having an exported version of my almost final soundtrack I could have a look at it in my audio editor for critical situations, which would allow me to make some fine tuning. Of course there is an easy workaround for exporting the soundtrack: Publish the show as an AVI video with low frame rate at a resolution of 16x8. This "video" will be created within a very short time, an it can be imported into Audacity. It is a solution, but not an esthetic one jt
  22. Nevertheless, you should not use 0 as your default. I must admit, the situation looks a bit confusing, and (following common sense) 0 would to be regarded as the standard value. But this is not the case. On the other hand, isn't -100 a fine number anyway jt
