  1. Hello, We published the final version of PicturesToExe 8 today. Thank you very much for your help!
  2. Two Editions of PicturesToExe 8 and Upgrades We are introducing two editions of PicturesToExe 8 with new prices: Essentials edition - $69 For home users and enthusiasts. This edition includes almost all features of PicturesToExe Deluxe 7.5 and contains many of the new features of version 8. Deluxe edition - $129 For AV enthusiasts and professional photographers. This edition includes all features of the new version 8. Compare editions You can try the features of the Essentials edition and compare them with the Deluxe edition: 1. Download PicturesToExe 8. 2. Open the Preferences window (Main menu | Settings). 3. Open the new Editions tab 4. Choose Essentials or Deluxe edition. The caption of the main window will indicate the chosen edition. Upgrades The upgrade price from all previous versions 1.0 -7.5 to the new Deluxe 8 is only $34. Even with the new pricing for the full Deluxe edition, we offer the same low upgrade price to all existing customers (from any previous versions and any editions). All customers who purchased PicturesToExe Deluxe 7.5 since July 2013 have the free upgrade to new version 8, as indicated on our website. Upgrade from Essentials 8 to Deluxe 8 is $65 You can buy a license for the Essentials edition, then switch to the Deluxe edition which will work in a trial mode. If you decide to migrate to the Deluxe edition, the upgrade is available for $65. Please visit this page to purchae the upgrade: http://www.wnsoft.com/picturestoexe/buy/ Important Information for Existing Users We are announcing the end of life for our old products - PicturesToExe 1.0-4.49 and for PicturesToExe 5.0-6.5 Standard edition. We have stopped support and free upgrades for these products. I know that we promised free lifetime upgrades to customers of versions 1.0-4.49 and many users have already received free upgrades to new versions for 14 years. Unfortunately, we can’t continue this way. With the new editions we offer upgrades at very affordable prices. This will provide a more stable future for PicturesToExe and WnSoft. I hope you understand. Thanks. You can use your existing license key with previous versions of PicturesToExe for unlimited time. New License Keys PicturesToExe 8 Deluxe or Essentials edition will work only with new license keys. If you have an old key, the new version 8 will only work in a trial mode. If you purchase the upgrade to Deluxe 8 edition you’ll will get a new single license key. There will be no need to load two keys as you did in previous versions.
  3. Versions 7.5 and 8.0 consume a little more memory than version 6.5. But not significantly. Your AV show is balancing around 2 GB. So any small factor can be "a last straw".
  4. Please check up memory consumption in the Task Manager for PicturesToExe. It should be lower than 2 GB.
  5. Please try to optimize size of images. I downloaded the original show and opened it in PicturesToExe 7.5. This show consumes almost 2 GB of memory and this may explain why some images could not be loaded.
  6. Hello, Please save this project under a new name and remove all other slides. Can you see this problem with only one slide with GIF images? If yes, please send me source files of this project. We'll try to find the reason of this problem and fix it.
  7. Douglas, Thanks for testing! I think both versions - 7.5 and 8.0 Beta have failed to load the certain project on the startup of PicturesToExe. When you do a new installation and skip import of the settings from previous versions, PicturesToExe doesn't load any project and shows a blank project. If you imported the settings from version 7.0, please run this version and look what project is loaded by default on the startup. Then try to open this project manually in version 7.5 or 8.0. If PicturesToExe will freeze, we'll determine where the problem occur. Please send me source files of that problem, if it causes freezes of versions 7.5 / 8.0. Thanks,
  8. Douglas, I forgot to ask. If I understood rightly you have this problem with both versions - 7.5 and 8.0. Right? Did you have same problem with 7.5 earlier, or with previous versions of PicturesToExe on your PC? Try to uninstall version 7.5, install again and when PicturesToExe will suggest to import settings from the previous versions, please SKIP this action. Will it help to run PicturesToExe 7.5?
  9. Douglas, Thanks for your patience and help! If you allow, please try the test version #3 http://www.wnsoft.com/files/test/picturestoexe-test-version.exe
  10. Douglas, Thanks for testing! Please download the new test version #2. http://www.wnsoft.com/files/test/picturestoexe-test-version.exe Let me know the last message before freezing.
  11. Douglas, I prepared the test version of PicturesToExe. 1. Please download this file: http://www.wnsoft.com/files/test/picturestoexe-test-version.exe 2. Install it (it will be installed as PicturesToExe 8 Beta 17). 3. Run it. 4. The program will show a series of message windows (for example, "Unit1_1"). 5. Please let me know the text of last message before the moment when it freezes with 13% CPU loading. Thanks in advance,
  12. Douglas, Can I send you the special test version of PicturesToExe? Do you have 8-core processor in your PC? In this case 13% means that PicturesToExe utilizes one core on 100%.
  13. Douglas, 1. Please download a demo slideshow from WnSoft website: http://www.wnsoft.com/files/picturestoexe/slideshows/TheDom-Smile.zip Will it play on your PC? 2. Please try to manually update the drivers for your video card. Download and install new drivers from NVIDIA or AMD website. 3. If it doesn't help, may I send you a special test version of PicturesToExe 8 Beta which will help me determine the point there the program freezes?
  14. Dave, I like these styles. Thanks!
  15. Dave, I just tried BORDER AND BLURRED BACKGROUND and it looks simple and very pleasant! Such styles are universal and suitable for various kinds of photos. They include some kind of magic. I'll create a variation on this theme to the list of built-in styles.
  16. proton777, Thanks for the details! I just uploaded a short test slideshow created in PicturesToExe 7.5.10 to VirusTotal.com online service. They check up files in all antiviruses. The file is clear. Please can you create a new small test EXE file and check up in BitDefender? Let me know about result.
  17. proton777, Thanks for letting me know about this problem. It's false positive in Bit Defender software. What version of PicturesToExe you used to create that EXE slideshow? I need exact version number, you can find it in the About window. I'll check up.
  18. Hi, Thanks for your thoughts! I agree with many suggestions. Just we need more time. In version 7.5 we reworked Projects options, Slide options, work with transition effects. New timeline view with audio clips. In version 8.0 (which will be ready in a month) we finished improvements of the timeline view, and fully reworked Audio tab in Project options. Slide styles should help new users to start work in PTE. Project templates was reworked. O&A editor will be fully rewritten in future version 8.5. We'll try to improve usability of PTE with each new version. We plan to launch Wiki for PTE. What regarding two editions, I'll tell a little later.
  19. Jill, Thank you very much for the article about PicturesToExe 8.0!
  20. Main image can be "announced" on any slide in a style. If I rightly understood the discussion. Slide1 - Sun.jpg [NOT main image] Slide2 - Sun.jpg [main image '1'] OR Slide1 - Sun.jpg [main image '1'] Slide2 - Sun.jpg [NOT main image] Give same result.
  21. Dave, Film Strip style is great! Thanks for sharing.
  22. Jose, It might happens if you used System Restore to recovery Windows. Or other software (antivirus) which might reset records in Windows Registry.
  23. 1. Try new Crop tool in the Adjust Image and Border floating window. 2. Also you can create a slide style with necessary settings for video (see above) and then apply it to all slides with videos. It will save you time.
  24. I very regret that we still can't introduce a Mac version of PTE and it took much more time than we expected. Sorry!
  25. Please try to set "Smoother/sharper" parameter to 0 (zero) for each image object in the Objects and animation editor (Properties tab). Will it help? Also make sure that you leave "Unsharp mask" parameter at 0 (zero) in the Project options windows / Screen tab.
