Douglas, I prepared the test version of PicturesToExe. 1. Please download this file: http://www.wnsoft.com/files/test/picturestoexe-test-version.exe 2. Install it (it will be installed as PicturesToExe 8 Beta 17). 3. Run it. 4. The program will show a series of message windows (for example, "Unit1_1"). 5. Please let me know the text of last message before the moment when it freezes with 13% CPU loading. Thanks in advance,

Douglas, Can I send you the special test version of PicturesToExe? Do you have 8-core processor in your PC? In this case 13% means that PicturesToExe utilizes one core on 100%.

Douglas, 1. Please download a demo slideshow from WnSoft website: http://www.wnsoft.com/files/picturestoexe/slideshows/TheDom-Smile.zip Will it play on your PC? 2. Please try to manually update the drivers for your video card. Download and install new drivers from NVIDIA or AMD website. 3. If it doesn't help, may I send you a special test version of PicturesToExe 8 Beta which will help me determine the point there the program freezes?

Dave, I like these styles. Thanks!
-
Dave, I just tried BORDER AND BLURRED BACKGROUND and it looks simple and very pleasant! Such styles are universal and suitable for various kinds of photos. They include some kind of magic. I'll create a variation on this theme to the list of built-in styles.

proton777, Thanks for the details! I just uploaded a short test slideshow created in PicturesToExe 7.5.10 to VirusTotal.com online service. They check up files in all antiviruses. The file is clear. Please can you create a new small test EXE file and check up in BitDefender? Let me know about result.

proton777, Thanks for letting me know about this problem. It's false positive in Bit Defender software. What version of PicturesToExe you used to create that EXE slideshow? I need exact version number, you can find it in the About window. I'll check up.

Hi, Thanks for your thoughts! I agree with many suggestions. Just we need more time. In version 7.5 we reworked Projects options, Slide options, work with transition effects. New timeline view with audio clips. In version 8.0 (which will be ready in a month) we finished improvements of the timeline view, and fully reworked Audio tab in Project options. Slide styles should help new users to start work in PTE. Project templates was reworked. O&A editor will be fully rewritten in future version 8.5. We'll try to improve usability of PTE with each new version. We plan to launch Wiki for PTE. What regarding two editions, I'll tell a little later.

Jill, Thank you very much for the article about PicturesToExe 8.0!

Main image can be "announced" on any slide in a style. If I rightly understood the discussion. Slide1 - Sun.jpg [NOT main image] Slide2 - Sun.jpg [main image '1'] OR Slide1 - Sun.jpg [main image '1'] Slide2 - Sun.jpg [NOT main image] Give same result.

Dave, Film Strip style is great! Thanks for sharing.

Jose, It might happens if you used System Restore to recovery Windows. Or other software (antivirus) which might reset records in Windows Registry.
-
1. Try new Crop tool in the Adjust Image and Border floating window. 2. Also you can create a slide style with necessary settings for video (see above) and then apply it to all slides with videos. It will save you time.

I very regret that we still can't introduce a Mac version of PTE and it took much more time than we expected. Sorry!
-
Please try to set "Smoother/sharper" parameter to 0 (zero) for each image object in the Objects and animation editor (Properties tab). Will it help? Also make sure that you leave "Unsharp mask" parameter at 0 (zero) in the Project options windows / Screen tab.
-
Good idea. But I'd like to leave it for next version.
-
Barry, No news, sorry. The progress is very slow.
-
Dave, Very clever use of PTE!
-
Steve, Please try to create ISO image of DVD which contains two short slideshows (say 1 minute for each slideshow). It will help me determine the reason of this problem.
-
Dave, Probably you wanted to say 8.0, not 8.5?

A draft of future show. Realistic 3D map with depth of field and text captions. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/27544810/shows/Realistic-Map-of-the-UK.zip

Cor, I plan to write a new article how to create slide styles.

See also: How to Create Slide Styles in Version 8.0 _______ Introduction A slide style is a template of animation with optional objects. For example, you can apply Pan Left or Zoom Out animation for a selected slide. It's possible to select several slides and apply a desired style for these slides. How it works Each style shows a required number of main images/videos to apply this style. For example, you can try 'Cube' style which requires 6 main images: Add 6 images or videos to the Slide list and apply Cube style. You'll get one slide with 6 image objects instead of 6 slides with one image on each slide. If you apply Cube style to one slide with only one main image. You'll see the following: In Objects and animation editor you can add absent images for surfaces of Cube. Main Objects A style replaces images of a slide which have option "Main object". Slide may contain several main objects with different indexes. For example, "1" and "2". When you apply a style, PicturesToExe collects main images from each selected slide. So if a style requires 2 main images and your slide has 2 main object images - you can apply this style to one slide. Custom Slide Styles You can install styles created by other users of PicturesToExe and apply them in your projects. ________ Please read also: How to Create Slide Styles in Version 8.0 Linked Images
