  1. Peter, Thanks, I downloaded the WAV file and confirm this issue. We'll try to solve this problem. When internal PicturesToExe's WAV decoder fails to open a audio file it loads it with ffmpeg library. So you can hear this audio file in preview or in mini-player. But you create EXE file without video clips we don't include ffmpeg library (to optimize EXE file size), so this WAV file can't be loaded. We'll try go fix a problem in WAV decoder to solve the problem completely.
  2. Thanks, please use it as main version. I'll publish it later as v7.5.8 with other possible fixes.
  3. Gary, Please try a special version with a fix for this issue: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/27544810/pte/picturestoexe-setup.exe
  4. Gary, Thanks, I confirm this bug! It will be solved in the next update.
  5. Peter, Can you reproduce this problem in a new project with as posssible smaller number of slides and audio files? Please send me source files of a test project.
  6. I recomend to use the following ways. Please look on attached screenshot. This is more fast and flexible way than in previous versions. Also you can set exact time position in the mini-player to start a preview between two slides.
  7. Please try the latest version 7.5.
  8. There is a number of video formats and combinations. In some cases we can't determine correctly progressive/interlace mode. Please set the necessary mode manually in the Objects & animation editor.
  9. PicturesToExe Deluxe 7.5.7 is available now Download: http://www.wnsoft.com/files/picturestoexe/picturestoexe-setup.exe (12 MB) List of changes: * Bug fixes.
  10. Thanks, I understood now. I think it's correct behaviour. Because it's a mini-player with its default navigation bar.
  11. Daniel, Please tell me - do you use latest version 7.5.6?
  12. Thanks to all members for your comments! The results are very interesting and clear. We can change default aspect ratio for new projects to 16:9 in future version. "Cover slide" option for main images will appear in future version. 16:10 is more rare format and I think it should not be suggested by default. For this reason I moved it to answer "Other".
  13. Please answer on two questions above. I'm looking for best default values of these options in future version. Also we plan to add a new option for main images to the Project options | Defaults tab - "Fit to slide" and "Cover slide". This option will be applied automatically for new slides.
  14. Thanks, John! I'm trying to find the solution.
  15. Dear Carmelo, Thank you very much for your translation! I think Italian users will appreciate your work. PDF file can be downloaded here: http://www.wnsoft.com/files/picturestoexe/user-guides/7.5/PicturesToExe_User_Guide_v75_IT.pdf I also congratulate Jean-Charles for his wonderful book which is so popular! And thanks to his kind permission for that translation. P.S. Probably we should delete our official English user manual in a hope that somebody will translate the book of Jean-Charles to English? :D/>
  16. Hello John, We apologize for this problem! Please tell me: 1. What version of Windows installed on your PC? 2. When exactly x264 module crashes (time)? 3. Send me a screenshot of entire screen when the crash occurs (I'd like to see a view of VideoBuilder window and the error message). 4. What settings for encoding did you choose? Preset or custom parameters (width/height, frame rate, bitrate?) 5. Will that problem occur if you encode 3-5 minute project? 6. Does that project (18 minutes) include any video clips? Thanks in advance!
  17. Dave, Currently there is no solution. We plan to update the forum software to latest version and probably it will bring this feature.
  18. Eric, These problems were related with certain rare combinations of project/slide options and you could observe error messages on any computer. If you don't see any error message, you needn't to worry. But I recommmend to install this update just for case. I thought that nobody reads those complicated descriptions of changes.
  19. PicturesToExe Deluxe 7.5.6 is available now Download: http://www.wnsoft.com/files/picturestoexe/picturestoexe-setup.exe (12 MB) List of changes: * Bug fixes.
  20. Gary, I just reworked this feature. This change will appear in the next version. PicturesToExe will remember opened folder in the File list for current project in the settings of program. And browsing of folders in the File list or File tree will not cause modifying of a project (with need to save it). So described problems should not occur anymore.
  21. A member of Diapositif forum has created utility "BézierPTE" which can help to create such animation. http://diapositif.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=35945 To see a download link you need to register on this forum. We plan this type of animation in future versions of PicturesToExe, when we rework the Objects and animation editor.
  22. Intel Graphic Media Accelerator 900 does not support some basic features of DirectX 9. It can't create large textures for transition effects. In version 7.5 we optimized rendering for more new video cards. All NVIDIA/ATI/AMD video card since 2003 should work with PicturesToExe's shows. For Intel better to use video card issued in 2007 and later. In system requirements we write "DirectX 9.0". But Intel had poor support of DirectX 9 during many years. Try to set 1024 x 768 screen resolution. If it helps it will confirm my guess.
  23. 1. Please install manually the latest version of DirectX from Microsoft's website: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 2. Although you have latest video card drivers, please download drivers again and re-install it manually. It may solve issues with brokes settings. 3. Open Windows Update center and make sure that all updates are installed. 4. Re-start Windows.
  24. nobeefstu, I forgot to say that it's impossible to pack with UPX safe executable file. Because this EXE file has our digital signature. Only we can do it on our side (pack EXE file with UPX and then embedd the digital signature). sds, Project files (JPEG image, MP3) don't require further compression. But EXE file also contains a program code which run slideshow. Size of this code is around 1 MB. Only this part can be effectively compressed. You can reach same result as with UPX compressor if you pack EXE file with slideshow into a ZIP archive. UPX provokes cases of false positives sometimes with certain antiviruses, so we decided not to use it anymore.
  25. I just tested - it works fine with version 7.5.5. 1. I downloaded UPX from http://upx.sourceforge.net/#downloadupx (version for Windows) 2. I put pack-file.bat file (see attached ZIP archive) to a folder with upx.exe file. 3. Put PCExecutable.dat file to same folder. 4. Run this .BAT file. PCExecutable.dat will have new file size - around 400 KB. 5. Copy compressed to PicturesToExe's folder and replace old file. You need administrator rights to replace the file. No need to change any option in PTE. I didn't test with custom icon file assigned for EXE file. Probably it doesn't work. pack-file.zip
