You can Apply any Style and modify it to your needs. You can then create a Style from the modified Slide and Save As a different version. Saving over the original is not advised and is not good practise. You cannot overwrite Built-In Styles so you have no alternative but to create your own version. If the Style that you are modifying has an Image built into it then that can cause problems as can images which appear more than once in the Applied Style (Reference Images). DG

You now have an understanding of why some used images are highlighted in blue and others not. If you are not going to create Styles you need not worry about the rest. Most people should be able to manage with "Quick Styles" (or not use Styles at all) and in these cases the Main Object numbering need not worry you. If you have a specific problem you are welcome to Message me - there are lots of others who will be willing to help. Good luck, DG P.S. There is a way of getting ALL used images highlighted in blue but it is not very elegant!!

Here's an extremely simple Style showing two different ways of applying a Style and determining the order of objects appearing. 1. In a 16/9 Project add 4 images to the slide list. Their order in the slide list will determine the order in which they appear. Highlight all 4 and apply the Style. The Style creates 3 slides - slides 1 and 3 can be deleted. 2. In a 16/9 project, create a blank slide and add 4 Images to it in O&A. Use the "Main Object" to number each image in the order (1 to 4) that you want them to appear. Apply the Style. The Style creates 3 slides - slides 1 and 3 can be deleted. Demo Style - Object Numbering.ptestyle For demo purposes only.

Also useful for creating Transitions? DG

The first image/object that you drag into the slide list is automatically designated "Main Object 1" and its name turns blue in the File List. All subsequent object in the same slide are left blank and are not turned blue in the File List. You can manually assign an Object number in O&A and these are used when creating a Style. The way in which multiple images are applied in a Style is determined by the order of the Main Object designations. See Styles in the OH. DG
-
Could it be that what you are both seeing is the fact that ONLY Main Object 1 Images are shown as used by the Blue Text? If you have a BG Image, it will be Main Object 1 and any Images added (on top) will not be designated as being Main Object. DG

How to move an extracted audio clip to another track?
davegee replied to goddi's topic in General Discussion
Hi Jill, The entry in the OH / Hotkeys is Shift + Left Mouse Click on an Audio Track- Constrain movement of Track to Horizontal Plane It is difficult to remember where and when these Hotkeys originated - maybe Igor can help when he returns. https://docs.pteavstudio.com/en-us/11.0/hotkeys/main DG -
It has always been so and has been discussed ad nauseam. You are trimming the object (the video clip) and not the slide duration. I have always seen a case for trimming the slide duration when trimming a video clip IF the video clip is the Main Object but.......

Error Creating style version 12 [SOLVED]
davegee replied to jienense's topic in PTE AV Studio 12 Beta
It only occurs if the style is applies to the last slide. If applied to an intermediate slide it works ok for me. As a temporary workaround, add a blank or "dummy" slide before applying your style. Hopefully, Igor will chip in. DG -
If you add a video which is longer than the 2 second default when creating a transition, Igor is indicating that it it is not cut off and can be recovered when applied by extending the transition duration. However, if some editing of the video between 2 sec and the end of the video is required, how is that achieved ?? DG
-
Perhaps we can get Igor to explain? I wonder if creating a slide as a transition would be a better fit here. If you posted in "Suggestions" it might provoke some action. DG
-
The default time for Creation of a Transition is set at 2 seconds. You set the actual Transition Duration when applying the Transition, or as Jill suggested, in the Timeline. What "files with longer durations" do you want to use in a Transition?
-
Thanks Igor, I found the "Speed Keyframes". I wondered if there was a case for changing the video duration if the video was a Main Object?? DG
-
Trim works OK. However it does not alter the duration of the slide to suit the new video time. Cannot add Keypoints but changing speed is possible via the data input boxes. DG

Mine is OK on screen resolutions of 1920x1200 and 2560x1600. Have you customised you screen resolution or appearance? DG

Can Adobe Elements be linked to an image direct
davegee replied to Janet Wright's topic in Troubleshooting
In PTE go to Settings / Preferences / System / Graphical Editor - Click on "Use the following programme" Navigate to the C Drive / Program Files / Adobe folder. Look for a Photoshop Elements folder - open it. Within that folder you will see an EXE file - probably "Photoshop Elements.exe". Click on it. Click on OK. That will allow you to use the Edit function from PTE. Please do not take this the wrong way but I wonder why you find Adobe Subscription exorbitant? At £120 per year that is less than the price of a cup of coffee once a week from Starbucks. ....and for what you get - Photoshop, Photoshop Beta, ACR, Lightroom (3 variants) and Bridge (and almost daily updates and improvements) - I call that a bargain. Try this Style. After IMPORTING you will find it in USER STYLES. Details are in the Style. Joe Bloggs.ptestyle DG
-
They will, if you use a frame and DO NOT ALTER THE PAN X VALUE dg
-
Try adding a frame and adding your text boxes to the frame. When you have the first one set up you can pan the FRAME to the left with everything maintaining its position. Save as a Style or Quick Style. DG
-
In O&A / Properties /Alignment, choose Centre. Yes, the alignment can be incorporated into a Style or Quick Style and once applied the Text can be edited. DG

Igor, Can you explain how the user can add sounds to the SOUND LIBRARY? DG Main/all/styles and transitions/sounds??

Nice Demo, it should be very useful for Panoramas and Animation. DG

Something like this: Project1_Dec26-2025_14-06-53.zip DG

It might be helpful to know a bit about your system. Go to Settings/ System /About and post what you see. Example: In addition you could create a one slide project which displays the symptoms and post it here as a Template or a BIZ so that someone can analyse it. Good luck, DG
